I hope thers this whole arc where coby is introduced as an admiral and he successfully captures luffy and then his crew has to get him back and then theres this final epic battle between luffy and coby once more, but luffy wins. but at least coby's dream will be fulfilled.
I gotta feeling that by the end of the series Coby may just turn out to be an Admiral and if not that a pretty powerful Vice-Admiral able to at least keep up with Luffy.

I don't think Coby will become an admiral within the span of the series, I kind of see it as an ending thing. Though, I think he'll probably end up as an average haki using fighter and become the strongest person in the military without the use of a devil fruit. At this point in the series it seems too late for Coby to gain a fruit and learn everything about it.

@soysuren100 I think Smoker would represent Garp more accuratley than Coby. They both don't care about rank or about the state of the world, they just want to catch strong pirates. Coby on the other hand thinks about more than this, he cares about his rank (he wants to an admiral) and also holds stong views on moral justice. This is what leads me to believe that Coby will go on to have a different role in the series, like changing the Marines. Whilst Smoker chases after Luffy.
Its amazing how much Coby grew up from the cowardly cry baby in the beginning of the series. I cant wait to see how much stronger he got after the 2 year timeskip!

@Saruko9d9 Akainu has probably increased his power during this time as well, he won't be beaten that easily. Teach isn't really that weak either without his devil fruit, he's actually pretty strong considering how badly he injured Ace with only a couple of punches during their fight. His devil fruit did increase his power greatly though, that I can't deny. I still can't see Coby defeating Akainu, and it would feel like a pretty poor decision considering how it really should be Luffy.

@konoha2life Coby's Haki gets awakened during the war, All Vice Admirals in the Navy must have some Haki capability. My guess is that this will allow Coby to become a Vice Admiral, then probably near the end of the show, he'll become a fully-fledged Admiral and bring Luffy in or get fucked up by him again
@gargoyle07 The only way i see Coby become an admiral is if the other admirals quit and or die, if he eats a rare logia type devil fruit, or if he masters the three Haki's and he won't master all three unless he has the Haoshoku Haki dormant in his body. But i don't disagree with a possible ending to the show being Coby becoming an Admiral and either capturing Luffy or getting fucked up again.
@konoha2life Yeah, I think Sengoku said at some point in the first half of OP that he was gunna recommend Aokiji to take his place as Fleet Admiral (I think that's the rank, can't remember...) So I'm guessing that may give Coby a chance, Akainu will probably disagree with the whole thing though and make a big scene. It would kinda make sense too, because the only Admiral who couldn't equally fight Luffy, Zoro or Sanji is Aokiji. Well, that's just my opinion anyway
Coby will be an admiral for sure. It's the way to show the 2 ways to succeed. Luffy was born with a star on himnself, he's lucky and he has a strong power of will. Coby was unlucky, insecure, but he has strong will too, in another way.
Out of all big three animes (One Piece Naruto Bleach) One Piece is the only one that after all these episode still makes you want more...the story is epic

They promised to fight but they arent enemies. the main ememies of both are those who corrupt what their lifestyles (pirate/marine) actaully mean (following dreams/beating bad guys) as both beard and Akainu take these ideals to the furthest extremes and corrupt what they stand for as Akainu is just as happy to strike down allies and blackbeard is ruthless and does dirty tricks rather than having honour.

Again he says he has to be ready to kill Luffy but Luffy doesnt pose any harm to anyone so shouldnt really be regarded as a criminal yet is because the world government fears him. It would seems right for one piece to end with coby replacing Akainu and making the marines respectable again rather than tyrants.

He got that strong training with Garp for like what, half a year? And then he awoke his Haki immediately after his battle. Chances are Coby has even more natural talent than Luffy.

Actually, it's been almost a year in the anime, and yes Coby grew significantly.
According to Oda himself, Coby is in the middle of a pubertal growth spurt.

@konoha2life Coby's Haki gets awakened during the war, All Vice Admirals in the Navy must have some Haki capability. My guess is that this will allow Coby to become a Vice Admiral, then probably near the end of the show, he'll become a fully-fledged Admiral and bring Luffy in or get fucked up by him again

@gargoyle07 The only way i see Coby become an admiral is if the other admirals quit and or die, if he eats a rare logia type devil fruit, or if he masters the three Haki's and he won't master all three unless he has the Haoshoku Haki dormant in his body. But i don't disagree with a possible ending to the show being Coby becoming an Admiral and either capturing Luffy or getting fucked up again.

@konoha2life Yeah, I think Sengoku said at some point in the first half of OP that he was gunna recommend Aokiji to take his place as Fleet Admiral (I think that's the rank, can't remember...) So I'm guessing that may give Coby a chance, Akainu will probably disagree with the whole thing though and make a big scene. It would kinda make sense too, because the only Admiral who couldn't equally fight Luffy, Zoro or Sanji is Aokiji. Well, that's just my opinion anyway

Coby will be an admiral for sure. It's the way to show the 2 ways to succeed. Luffy was born with a star on himnself, he's lucky and he has a strong power of will. Coby was unlucky, insecure, but he has strong will too, in another way.

Bleach was my favorite but it changed too much

By the end Coby will beat Akainu who is the real criminal and LUffy will beat Blackbeard
They promised to fight but they arent enemies. the main ememies of both are those who corrupt what their lifestyles (pirate/marine) actaully mean (following dreams/beating bad guys) as both beard and Akainu take these ideals to the furthest extremes and corrupt what they stand for as Akainu is just as happy to strike down allies and blackbeard is ruthless and does dirty tricks rather than having honour.

@ElegeantFencer There has been a two year time skip after this and Coby has already improved. Garp wants to kill Akainu as well so maybe he will through training Coby. Again he says he has to be ready to kill Luffy but Luffy doesnt pose any harm to anyone so shouldnt really be regarded as a criminal yet is because the world government fears him. It would seems right for one piece to end with coby replacing Akainu and making the marines respectable again rather than tyrants.

I think that in the future.. Coby will be the biggest challange for luffy.. Think about it they promissed each other that they will fight in the future. And Coby allready developed one of the haki.. But he needs alot of training..

@MrDuncanidaho Fastest Soru ? Doubtful. HIGHLY doubtful. There are people who Luffy hinds hard to keep up even with Gear Second. And the '' aura '' Is jsut for dramatic effect. Id say the Vice Admirals and masters like Lucci and Kaku are Waaay faster.
