@thecracken9 Not going to call Kevin (not a kid) Props on H1, my twin bro has a Wagon not the most reliable but cant part with it either. There is no hype about Supras not everyone can afford a Lambo & send it over to Kevin along with $60K plus for upgrade. But Supra is in that bracket of an insane performance & reliability for under $60K. I've owned one back in 98 & in 02 upped to 996TT X50 but I will admit Supra was by far one of the best cars I've ever owned.

As far as rims, I would only use HRE's for that speed. They might be a bit pricy, but you can't put a price on proven safety and proven reliability! On top of that you have the a company that backs their product 100% !! Keep me posted =)

The reason I asked is because I saw a fairly new posted video of a carrera gt that looks exactly like (minus the ecacp plates) and sounds like yours roaming around in Monaco.
When I first did the wheels in 2005 (I was the first to do that to the CGT, including the first set of straight pipes from AWE), everyone criticized me for 'messing' with the car, now everyone is doing it...lol Often replicated, never duplicated! /-)

Thanks for your compliment =) The car has major traction issues at anything over 840rwhp on Drag Radials and the slicks will hold up to 1050rwhp. Now we are forced to tune a custom boost map for all the gears individually. If you see my first run, that was 1.5bar with WOT at the half mile marker. The second run boost was set at 2.5bar and she just blew the slicks and forced me to abort the run...next year...

Just think, worlds fastest 6 cylinder goes 242 in 1 mile, and the world's fastest V8's go over 330 mph in only a quarter mile. I'd be happy with just going 200 mph. This is getting crazy.
thats a purpose built drag car. These 6 cylinders in the texas mile are going faster than the 8 cyls. Try and drive a 330mph-1/4mi car on the streets...there are purpose built drag cars that can run that fast on a 6 cyl as well...
I'll agree with the first part.. But there are no six cylinder engines even approaching the 8000 horsepower required to do a 330 mph quarter mile. The most powerfull sixes haven't even gotten to 3000 for that matter. Remember this too, these texas mile cars are basically drag cars with gearing that allows them to max it out in a mile. Slightly easier on the engine to a degree at these power levels. Please don't get me wrong, thats one fast Supra...

Your right..it does sound like it... The turbos hit very violent with the boost set to 35psi and with cold tires they tend to go up in smoke! I aborted the run after I power-shifted into fourth an blew the rear tires. If you look at the video you can see the car move over about half a lanes worth on the top of second gear (about 85mph)...clutch held..
Thank you for your kind words sir. The clutch is a triple disk carbon in the 996 and a quad carbon carbon in the Supra. As for the boost in the 996, she spikes 2.6bar and returns to a full 2.45bar for the run through the gears. This is the max that I have run her up to. On Supercars Exposed, I ran her at 21psi (1.5bar) against the CEC car in the finals. Thanks again and Happy Holidays to you and your family. =)

I was looking through some of your photos and I notice that you have a picture of a Lancer EVO VIII or IX motor. I would love to see video posting of the car if you still have the car.

The reason I asked is because I saw a fairly new posted video of a carrera gt that looks exactly like (minus the ecacp plates) and sounds like yours roaming around in Monaco.

When I first did the wheels in 2005 (I was the first to do that to the CGT, including the first set of straight pipes from AWE), everyone criticized me for 'messing' with the car, now everyone is doing it...lol Often replicated, never duplicated! /-)

lol yes sir, however no matter how much they try and replicate yours, they still won't be able to drive theirs like you do yours. Therefor failing to get the most out of the car.. lol

lol wow i just saw that u said u ran the 996 on 1.5bar on supercars exposed and u blew that guy away lol u shuld of ran 2.6 then :p the guy wantted 2 know how much hp u had sooo bad lol and my dad laughed as u blew past the guy nice job:)

Thanks for your compliment =) The car has major traction issues at anything over 840rwhp on Drag Radials and the slicks will hold up to 1050rwhp. Now we are forced to tune a custom boost map for all the gears individually. If you see my first run, that was 1.5bar with WOT at the half mile marker. The second run boost was set at 2.5bar and she just blew the slicks and forced me to abort the run...next year...

Just think, worlds fastest 6 cylinder goes 242 in 1 mile, and the world's fastest V8's go over 330 mph in only a quarter mile. I'd be happy with just going 200 mph. This is getting crazy.

thats a purpose built drag car. These 6 cylinders in the texas mile are going faster than the 8 cyls. Try and drive a 330mph-1/4mi car on the streets...there are purpose built drag cars that can run that fast on a 6 cyl as well...

I'll agree with the first part.. But there are no six cylinder engines even approaching the 8000 horsepower required to do a 330 mph quarter mile. The most powerfull sixes haven't even gotten to 3000 for that matter. Remember this too, these texas mile cars are basically drag cars with gearing that allows them to max it out in a mile. Slightly easier on the engine to a degree at these power levels. Please don't get me wrong, thats one fast Supra...

Your right..it does sound like it... The turbos hit very violent with the boost set to 35psi and with cold tires they tend to go up in smoke! I aborted the run after I power-shifted into fourth an blew the rear tires. If you look at the video you can see the car move over about half a lanes worth on the top of second gear (about 85mph)...clutch held..

Last question,the 35 psi pressure is absolute or relative to the athmosphere?

Thank you for your kind words sir. The clutch is a triple disk carbon in the 996 and a quad carbon carbon in the Supra. As for the boost in the 996, she spikes 2.6bar and returns to a full 2.45bar for the run through the gears. This is the max that I have run her up to. On Supercars Exposed, I ran her at 21psi (1.5bar) against the CEC car in the finals. Thanks again and Happy Holidays to you and your family. =)
