Went to Mikita night last year the anthem was incredible.

Does anyone know the history of when the fans cheered so loud during the anthem? Watched vids here and went to game at the old Stadium in the 80's. Videos from '84 the crowd was silent and still during the singing, Did it change around the Gulf War years?

The anthem in the United Center on Hawks nights is so legit. He is doing it at Soldier Field for the Bears game and it'll be great too. It won't be as loud though since its outside.

You know, all these other teams' fans want to attack us Hawks fans for this, but I haven't heard anyone say boo about Dallas fans yelling STARS. personally, i think this is one of the coolest traditions there is, it's enough to raise many a goosebump in person.

I'm a Navy veteran, I'm also a Blackhawks fan, I love the way the National Anthem is sung in the United Center. IMHO it is not disrespectful, it is with pride and great reverence that the Star Spangled Banner is sung. The only thing I could add to improve on such a great tradition is if more people sang the words, like Canadian fans do...

I dont like the hawks fans doing this, but it may just be because I am a bruins fan, and a few years ago, the canadiens booed our national anthem so when they came to boston, we cheered their national anthem so loud that you couldnt even hear their anthem.
