The microphone has a dry sound without any reverb at all. That might make it sounds to you like as she doesn't control her voice? Reverb would have helped her but maybe they couldn't make it work against the pre recorded studio music? However she can definitely sing but she probably had to shout on the top of her voice to get through. Bad tech I would say.

I have to agree. Many people don't seem to understand that.

Nicole does a great job being lead singer, she is most of the face of the group and it wouldn't be as recognisable without her. In a recent interview Jessica said "Nicole's our lead singer and that's that" or something along those lines. So it's not as though the girls are oblivious to it. I do agree with just about everyone when they say that the other girls should have more singing parts. They need to show us what they got.

Kim is very precise and trained, but she carries that punk vibe and is very unabashedly sexual; Ash is very energetic and strong, but she's got this earthiness that's tremendous and dramatic in a performance, but sometimes a little masculine. Jess isn't as strongnas the other two, but she's delicate and feminine - the 'classic beauty', as the dolls say, and pinups are her trademark, so this is her thing.
