  • George sang lead and James sang baritone.

  • Does anyone know who is singing lead on this one? Is it James or George?

  • One of my all time favorites. After you hear it you just cannot stop humming it.

  • hello doowopper51, nice selection here,it's been quite a while since i've heard this side. thank you sooo much for the chance. tom d brick,nj.

  • The Plants on J & S # 1602 --1957 "Dear I Swear" and "It's You

The Plants - Dear I Swear

  • Excellent !

  • I miss Tom and Joe as well. Used to listen to them when they were broadcasting on Saturday afternoons from WFUV.

  • Thank you soo much for doing this!

    Great Music!

  • Hey, great choice of music you have!

  • Posting it now my friend 4 U! Plus, posting more of the Plants, two different groups now!

I Searched The Seven Seas / I Took A Trip Way Over The Sea, is a totally different group, however, I don't care, it's all GREAT, so enjoy!

  • YES! I just searched it, there were 2 groups:

1959 - I Searched The Seven Seas / I Took A Trip Way Over The Sea (completely different group) (J&S 248 / 249) Strange, same label!!!!!

Now, talk about confusion? This group was also The Equadors. So many groups & artists, soooo much history to still be learned, amazing!

  • Excellent sounding doo wop! Do you own any other songs by The Plants?

  • Thank you! I have 6 more. This I thinkis there best, however," I took A Trip & It's You" is nice, I'll post them next time around, maybe tonight?

  • This is what DooWop is.

    Keep Doin The Doo 51!

  • Trying my best my friend,

    Thanks!

  • This, I remember, used to be a favorite on the old "Time Capsule Show", broadcast from WFUV-FM out of Fordham University in the Bronx. That's where I first heard this gem. Never get tired of listening to it.

  • AHHH, super sound! Danm, I'm tapping my fingers on my keyboard as I'm trying to type this, try it!!! Can't help it! 1st time I heard was the day I brought it home about 30 ago, I never heard it air played in RI.

  • I still miss Tom and Joe, although they tended to play the same records over and over. I used to listen to them every Thursday night at 10:30! I remember when Tom was at WFUV and Joe shipped his tapes up from Philly.
