Ive been messing around with mine. I can get it to run Windows, but it wont play any games! Says there is not enough memory available. Mind you I am trying to run these games in DOS without Windows running, games like Wolfenstein 3D that there should be enough memory for.
Wish I could find this model of computer brings back memories I remember when the computer store had this model. I wish I could have bought one when I was a kid. Back then in about 1994 or 1995 I had a Packard Bell. I really liked the design of the case with the handle and slide down door.
My personal trainer's husband (who worked at IBM for 24 years!) hooked me up with his old Aptiva for my retrocomputer collection.
It has 128mb RAM (in a 1997 machine?! 64MBx2), a AMD K6, and no hard drive, although i have a 6GB hard drive on the way so i can install 98 on it. it says "Designed for Windows 95", but 128mb on Windows 95 is overkill no matter how you look at it.
year modes fun, I also have an IBM Aptiva model 1997 from E-series but so far were developed E of Acer. My computer has a Pentium processor at 200 MHz, 64 MB RAM memory, and a hard drive in the 1960 mb. I think putting a video on the computer later.
Everything nice, but Windows 95 was the beginning of an end...

I LOVED my IBM Aptiva A14! It wasn't the tower, it was a desktop and it was awesome.
