First, we randomly give up on Osama and attack Iraq because of weapons that were never there. Then after we've toppled their leader and dismantled their army, as well as handpicking a new leader there, a civil war erupts. We can't leave then, because there's too much violence. So then there's a troop escalation. Nothing. Still too much violence. Now violence is down. Can't leave because of "success". This "war" is meaningless and costly, both in lives and cash. Bring them home. There's no "job"

Way to look at history in a vacuum. Saddam was our ally when we were fighting the communists. We won that war (because we stuck to our principles) and the world is better off for it. The fact that Saddam helped us in the cold war doesn't mean that we're responsible in any way for the fact that he LATER became a menace in that region and a butcher.

Regardless of how we got there, we DO need to finish the job. The alternative is an unthinkable, though predictable bloodbath; a betrayal of millions of Iraqis. Common sense and 28 years in the military have taught me this. Knowing people who were shot at while enforcing the cease fire at the end of the 1st Gulf War, taught me that. And simple compassion for a long repressed people has shown me that.

Well done. This is an important message that needs to be spread. Too many of our leaders bet against our own troops and took steps to pull the rug out from under them while they were fighting. For the first time ever, I have actually donated to a PAC and I am glad to say it was towards VfF. Your efforts on behalf of our military are greatly appreciated.
