  • Lookin' good so far. It's okay to weld galvy AFAIK as long as you don't breath the fumes. Don't use brake clean on anything you are going to weld, I've read some horror stories...

  • @loansharky yeah, I have to, but I have done it... nothing happened to me, at all. Although I dont make it a habit to breath any welding fumes, they're all toxic.

  • nice videos, take it your welding with flux core, I dont see no bottle on your welder!..try using Stargon, its kinda expensive but well worth it, makes beautiful beads!

  • @Bellefeuille66 some day when I have a better shop, i'll add the gas. the welder has the provisions for gas, so it would be fairly easy

  • might be thinking of putting a high price tag on that and sell it as new , get your money back and finance your next build . plus just cause there a price doesn't mean you have to sell it till someone pays full price , just a thought

  • wondering how loud it will be ? guess very , but you could look into some custom muffler work that shouldn't rob any power and might give you some torque , just a thought . really wish i could time machine forward and watch the rest of your build . alot of people start projects and never take the time to finish every thing so well .

  • makes me want to buy an old mower and go to town . cant wait for the rest , really like to see how well that thing works . built a few go carts in my day but never mower style like yours , just rocks . fabing up the front and rear was just great work man really .

  • just watched all your videos , very cool , nice work . you really need to work on your welding but very good over all . i was wondering how much weld bits you have blocking your exhaust pipe . love most every thing you did , great work . thinking you should weld a 90 or 45 to the exhaust then cut your angle , really give it the custom cut look but no biggie .

  • @heydo6 I tried to keep the slag insied the pipe to a minimum, i'm sure there is a little bit in there... And I hate it when people start a really cool build, then stop... drives me nuts!!

  • Thanks for your help, I appreciate the time you take for us lesser learned people lol

  • How do you mount the gas tank separately and still pump fuel? I am new to this area of building lol

  • @electus7 this motor is gravity feed, so as long as the tank is higher then the carburetor, it will get gas.

  • yes those are pretty cool little tires and i like the letters :) how much?

  • @kinghornet1000 $100, check out my newest vid (#8) to see them mounted

  • @Fearlessfront i already did it looks great!

  • love this video, shows me how to build my own. awesome

  • @NightTurkey82 the whole build from beginning to end will be online. once it's done of course!

  • those tyres are sweet! and adding the grease nipples to the steering bushing was a great idea and will last for ever

  • @batesy636 I thought so, I don't want to have to rebuild it in a year. But at least I can still replace the bushings if they wear out.

    Thanks!

  • Next Project : monster mower with 28 inch mudzillas and front and rear suspenntion with a 100cc honda dirtbike motor please? :)

  • @corey4014 I think next is gona be 4x4

  • ok thats alot of help i never thought of that

  • nice i like that idea with the brass bushing fittings

  • @billy6ization thanx man! I thought of it at the hardware store when I saw all the parts!

  • @Fearlessfront i always wanted to build one of them but i only have on tractor and that one is to mow my lawn i like that one that you made that was the crawler its awesome

  • @billy6ization Thanks! and you can find another cheap rider pretty easily in the spring time when people but new ones. just find one with a bad deck.

  • nice i like that idea

  • Hey fearlessfront, i really like these fabrcation vids

  • @TheBackyardMechanics thanks! I'll try and keep making them

  • Thanks man!

  • hey man i got a 1964 crafstman and the tank is hooked up to my hood and i was wondering if you would make me a video on how you hooked up you gas tank on your racing mower go kart thing.

  • @TheAger2 I haven't hooked up the tank yet, but when I do, I will do a video of it.

  • hell ya bro i really like your vids sorry i haven't been around just been busy but im glad i watched this vid im gunna go work on my tractor now woot woot and by the way great job on that cart man your one hell of an engineer

  • @pease5921 thanks man! Im waiting on a few more parts befor I can really continue. I can't wait to ride this thing

  • nice new style!!!

  • Where did u get the tires

  • @243generallee ebay

  • Is that an old air compressor I see at 7:33? Thats a proper job you're doing.

  • @davidbrown950fan yup, it came with the house when I bought it 5 years ago. still works great!

  • 2 Thumbs up for "Fabrication Videos"!!! :)

  • Nice tires ! The whole thing is very cool.

  • @eloctocs13 thanks man! gonna get billet wheels for them

  • those tires are beast !

  • oh ya

  • I cant wait to see finish product!!!!

  • dude i am subed to u u have mad skills on top of mad skills to fab stuff up i love how u eddit yur vids as well kick ass man

  • @tjsnordic he has flux core, welds are ugly with flux core

  • totally AWESOME, NICE WORK, DIG THE FAB VIDS

  • Great video Keep them coming.

  • Be proud of your welds. When you grind them you are trying to hide something. Good effort however you need a lathe or machined bushings to do it right.

  • @tjsnordic I was trying to make it look "seamless" so when it's painted, it will look like one piece of steel. My weld are still improving. They used to look really nasty

  • @Fearlessfront It looks like you are using flux core. Convert to gas and you will be even better.

  • This thing is gonna b badass wen it's dun!!! Ur going a great job and thanks for the updates!!!! The tires look fuckin sick as well!!!

  • @MrHickfarmer Thanks man, they were surprisingly cheap for what they are. $99.95 shipped I found them on ebay.

  • hey man keep up the vids... i check every day for updates, were actually looking for mowers ourselves now due to the inspiration!!! great job so far!

  • @UncleJesseXXX hah a, It took me some searching and waiting b4 I got this one. I'll try to do new videos weekly, but it's a busy time of year for me, so I spend little bits of time here and there to get it done. It's been coming along nicely though!

  • Great vid , the hood support looks like a roll cage over the engine.

  • @Tommyhonda100 I guess your right! That frame is pretty strong, I can't imagine what it would take to bend it

  • Alright thanx man when are you doin the next racing mower update

  • @704richard704 not sure, I made a lil more progress on it, I gotta get out there for a few more hours, I'll get another vid going soon!

  • k thanks

  • lol u look just like the guy i baught my 250r from lol. Good update video though

  • @yamaharules163 haha, thats funny, maybe my less evil twin?

  • to bad it will still be cool

  • cant wait to see what this thing looks like when its done, its gunna be sick, and fearless.. im sorry, bt im selling my monster mower haha, $200, goten quite a few hits on craigslist abot it, im hoping to trade for a go kart, and it seems like its golden, but that doesnt mean im getting out of lawn mowers, never

  • @dylanbab6 I stopped mower modding for a few years, then I got back into it. Now I think I take it a little too seriously! lol I hope you find your cart!

  • @Fearlessfront to me its not getting a little to serious, its mastery lol, the more you do it the better you get at it. but thanks, im thinking about just bulding my own

  • @dylanbab6 it's expensive as hell to build one! thats why this is taking longer to do then I wanted

  • @Fearlessfront i hear ya, luckily i have alot of the stuff that i need, most of it is just thinking of how its all going to go together and getting the engine/clutch/rear axle is the only problem im having

  • @TheAirsoftMafia26 me to! but im just going to build my go kart then build some thing like this when i am done

  • so are you rely going to race it?

  • @kidmechanic98 I don't think it'll be legal in any class, I'm bulding it for fun.

  • nice man real nice

  • is that your air compressor for your tools or is it broke and not work or do you just not use it cause i like old compressors like that.

  • @biggamehunters2 no, it works! i still use it.... It has no wheels... lol

  • dude this videos are awesome you need to keep making them. i can't wait to see that little racing mower cart combo thing ,it's gonna be prety awsome

  • @majorjujo thanks man! There will definitely be more!

  • great job. might be a little hard to start with the steering bracing in the way.

  • @Hankhill90210 you'll see in the next vid, it fits almost perfectly! I'm more worried about whether or not a comet clutch would fit.

  • lookin good. hope you finish it soon (mainly cause i wanna see the rest of the videos lol)

  • @mark16443 ha ha! I know, I have a limited monthly budget, so it's taking time. this has been alot more expensive then I though It would be.

  • It's a tacumseh or however u spell it lol and yes it's original and how do I know if the tranny is a peerless or not ??

  • @704richard704 if you look on the trans, there should be a tag on it somewhere that says the name and the model number on it.

  • @kmack117 cool, thanks man!

  • fearless i like all the videos u do. they interest me so much and make start thinking on fixing my mower. btw yes i like the fabication videos just any u do

  • @zuse121 cool, I say go for it, for me I have as much fun modding (maybe more) as I do riding.

  • Hey man I love your vids iv watched all of them they really help me out I have a mtd lawn pro 12 1/2 hp ohv but have no clue what year I need to find out tho so far I have put zero money into it I have a five bay shop and there's no shortage of srap/junk metal laying around I use that and original parts/pullys to build it I plan to put some vids up soon keep us updated. If u can tell me what year mine is and also the transmission that would be great it's a six speed

  • @704richard704 look on the motor there is a metal tag on the top or the side. the first 2 digits of the "code" will tell you the year. IF the motor is original.

If it's a briggs motor that is..

  • ya the fab vids help me out a whole lot man thanks

  • @fordtontruck cool, I'm happy to help anyway I can!

  • as always great vid i like better when you show the work that you do welding, grinding, ect.

  • @kidmechanic98 cool, I wasn't sure if people liked that or if it was just a waste of time. I'll keep it going!

  • building one of my own and love your tips... helpin me out alot.

  • @TheAirsoftMafia26 cool! what are you building? racing mower, or go kart?

  • @Fearlessfront Im building a go kart but Im debating ono building a lawn mower like yours.

  • @TheAirsoftMafia26 then you know how much parts cost! it's scarry sometimes. I'd say do both, but you'd have to spaend a lot of $

  • just a little tip. when welding galv. steel grind off the glav. coating, it will leave the bare steel and it makes for a better weld. but great vids! hope you get it up and running soon cant wait to see you lay a little rubber haha

  • @CRFforEVER I usually grind anything I weld, But I imadgine all welding fumes are some what toxic.

And yes, I can't wait to burn some rubber either!

  • can u make a vid of fixing a craftsman carb to make the gas to get the gas in the bowl to the piston compartment

  • @spidermonkey651 I'll try, I gotta get my crawler back from my parents house so I can work on it.

  • sweet setup and parts man! i just finished me racing mower today, its the same craftsman as ur crawler but really fast. keep up the good vids man and i cant wait till the next :)

  • @ElBadToucho cool! How fast does it go? is it a 4 speed?

  • @Fearlessfront its goes around 35 mph right now and were gunna make it faster. it has a 3.5 inch on the trans axle and were puttin a 6 on engine insted of the 4 thats on there. should i lock the trans axle on it or leave it as is for racing, im racing it this up comming weekend at the races at the rodeo. and its a 6 speed

  • @ElBadToucho I would leave it unlocked. Unless traction becomes an issue. 35 is pretty fast on a lawn mower, have fun at the races!

  • @Fearlessfront yup will do man and thanks for trans axle advice

  • like all ur vids just giving my ideas to piss my parents off lol keep them coming!!!!!!

  • @EricAustin316 Sweet! lol, you should try pissing off the neigbors more then your parents, more fun that way! haha

  • @Fearlessfront honestly i dont think i could piss them off any more than i already have, lol, lets see theres the fourwheeler without the silencer and, my garden tractor lol

  • @EricAustin316 h aha! they should move all the people like us into a neighborhood together, since we all make so much racket!

  • @Fearlessfront now ur talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and i just got 2 12s and 2000watts for my van lol

  • @EricAustin316 h aha! next you'll need some bulletproof glass to hold up to the percussion!

  • loved it dude nice tires!

  • @WrestlingFan136 thanks!

  • Where did you source box tubing? Just curious cause Id like to get an Idea of where to start looking for some.

  • @318Captain I get it from a place that does "industrial sales"... Look up in the yellow pages for steel suppliers.

  • @Fearlessfront Thanks man. Im pretty sure where to find it now.

  • that would look soooooooooooo sooo soo much better with a steering wheel haha

  • @redzz02 you think so? I like the bars.. donno why, looks cool to me. I wanted to put a thumb throttle on it.

  • @Fearlessfront the bars are okay, the way they are shaped i dont really care for, i personaly like steering wheels on mowers alot better

  • @redzz02 I know what your sayin, but I can always change it later. (I usually do...lol)

  • @Fearlessfront thats true you can change it, im actualy building another racer and this time i might actualy be racing it and ill get a vid up soon i havent in over a month due to a dirtbike accident with a stick through my foot so hopefully ill get back to the mower vids soon

  • @redzz02 ouch! thats gotta be a PITA! I hate getting hurt like that, such an inconvenience! lol

  • @Fearlessfront yea i was out for over a month on crutches :/

  • Super cool man. And good up grades. U can never have to much lube. XD

  • @Stimulator757 lol!

  • yes i like this type of vids but i like your vids all together keep up the good work

  • @kendallc4051 cool, thanks for the support man!

  • Those tires look sweet. Cant wait to see this thing running! lol

  • @Motorfordtoyota me either! lol

  • you can weld galvanised steel it is just diffrent and i think you need diffrent wire but hey most of us do it like you did.

  • @blownutsmyass yea you can lol but it puts of bad gases that arent really good for ya

  • @wildpanthercutlery well welding any thing does that.

  • @blownutsmyass yeah I've done it before, I don't like doing it, but it was all I could find.

  • @Fearlessfront i completely understand bro. also i did want to say good fab work on all that. realy puting your self at a higher level.

  • @blownutsmyass Thanks, it helps having that new saw. It makes it so much more precise.

  • @Fearlessfront yes the right tool allways helps. also i seen you replying to some one els your hoping for tire riping donuts. hate to burn your high hopes but your gona need some more power for that even with the comet clutchs. probably get some whip arounds with what you have tho :)

  • love the shop fab parts and those tires are sweet!

  • @petah14 thanks! But I realized the wheels I was thinking I was gonna use wont fit these tires. The wheels that I can use, require a different bolt pattern. So i had to return a bunch of parts to order new ones. but it should be a rolling chassis soon.

  • @Fearlessfront Thats too bad:( but im sure you'll think of sumthin cool for the front and rear! great work though and i cant wait to see this thing movining along... any guess as to the speed it might go when done?

  • @petah14 hoping for 40-45mph, but I still want low end for donut ripping power... I might get a torque converter, but there $200

  • @Fearlessfront Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice.

  • great video FF, loving the greased bushes, very clever. and didnt know you could burr the edge of that nipple to get a tight fit, simple ideas are always the best ones.. for me i'd say more fabrication clips, they are the ones i enjoy the most... keep it up cant wait for the next one

    Dan

  • @missionDan cool, thanks man! I'll try and keep it interisting. The bushings should work nice..(better then what I had on there before

  • nice dude.... like the tiers... gunna be beast!!! what kind of gear ratio are u gunna use are you gunna use a jackshoft and how fast do you thinks shell go?

  • @kdwedge243 yeah, either a jack shaft or a torque converter. Not sure on top speed, but I'd like it to go 40-45mph... But I still want enough power to rip donuts... Hopefully it works out.

  • @Fearlessfront i'd go with jackshaft only because there easy to make and you dont have to worry about a belt slipping... i think youll get it to do donuts maby look online for some equations to figuar out a good gear ratio.. im not sure of any but i know there out there...

  • man you're gonna have one damn long chain! But hell there aint a damn thing wrong with that. Ya can always but it some tensors or however you spell it. the things people use to get the slack out of chain and what not. GOOD VIDEO!

  • @bubbawinchester it'll either have a jackshaft setup, or a torque converter on it. It should help keep the chain under control. I'll also put some spring tensioners on it as well.

  • @Fearlessfront yea that should work out just fine. But Twist throttle is the way to go. LOL ya can put a power band on it! haha that thing would fly!

  • when i took off my gas tank, which i shouldnt have, i broke the outlet pipe or the petcock and im looking for a new one, if you dont use the stock gas tank i would b interested in the pet cock

  • @jeff091796 I have two of them... you need one? you can have it.

  • @Fearlessfront yea i need one

  • @jeff091796 pm me your address, and i'll send it out to u

  • @Fearlessfront just wondering, did u send it yet

  • @jeff091796 not yet, I'll try and do it tomorrw, I got your address.

  • look awsome man i think the stearing came out great

  • @gs650gokart Thanks! it should function and look much better then what I had on there.

  • Nice fabrication vids. Karts gonna look badass when its finishd! Keep up the good work. cant wait to see ya actually get to drive it for the first time.

  • @Umbrella387 ME EITHER! It had better be able to rip donuts when its done!

  • yes i like the fabricating!!!! come on man, i was gona use thos tires on my tractor i was gona build. its looking good so far man

  • @FastClones in your honda clone mod video, you have a pic of two racing mowers sitting next to each other, I'm sort of using that and some other mow-chines as my inspiration.

    The tires were cheap considering....

  • @Fearlessfront yeah thats what i was going for too.

  • so are u planing on racing it or just keeping it to drive around in ur yard?

  • @lawnmoweredneck101 It'll be a toy for anyone who wants to ride it around the yard. I may take it to a parade or car shows and stuff, but I doubt I'll race it..(officially) there are way too many rules to have fun!

  • You are really good at this stuff!!! I need to get my shop cleaned up so I can learn how to do everything. And yes I love these fabrication style videos! AWESOME!!!

  • @SuperKONR cool, thanks man! I love messing with all this new steel! that new chopsaw helps alot also, makes perfect cuts everytime!

  • it's been about month since my internet has worked properly so i'm catching up on all the vids i like your new style to the vids. hopefully i can post some vids since i finally got a new laptop my freebie of 3 years died finally. i only have a crappy digital camera so i don't know how good they'll be

  • @wolverine63tony hey, thats how i started, with a digital camera.... It'll work, you might have to find some conversion software, but it can be done!

  • yea, i like the fabricating. it looks great. i don't know anything about racing carts or lawn mowers and i hate to even say this but....... I'm concerned about the caster. it looks to be about 0* at 7:46ish. it's probably fine, i dunno but i'd think you have to be careful to keep the rear axle mounted high, meaning not to jack up the rear anymore. if the rear of the frame is say 2" higher than the front, it looks like you might have negative caster. is caster an issue? will it speed wobble?

  • @duranate I though about that a little bit, but I probably should have worked a little bit of caster into the front end. BUT, the rear wheels should be on roughly the same level as the front tires. Thats why I modified the front spindles, to get the mounting point higher. I wanted it to sit level or with a smidge of forward rake.
