  • something is gotta turn out right...... FOR ONCE!

  • Was going to do something, but put this on.

  • gets me thru the days

  • you can't blame it on the heroin, he truly felt bad. it wasnt the drugs. he was a true artist. look at this gift he gives us through music. he was an angel<3

  • God: Give us Layne and take to Justin Bieber :(

  • @wolfmetal22666 lolololololo god isn't stupid,He knows that be a bad trade

  • layne... :)

  • :))

  • i only listen to the ones with layne not the new ones. i dont know what the new songs sound like dont really care i aint going to listen to them

  • always enjoy your videos...much appreciation!

The greatness of Layne Staley and that Voice of his....Outstanding!

  • Killer harmonies in Layne's voice!! Damn, I miss this!!

  • i don't think any band could change singers after they became popular and be as well liked. but especially not a.i.c.

i don't like when bands change their line up. i didn't like when nirvana got pat smear. i don't like the pumpkins as much without james iha and darcy. and i didn't like darcy.

joe dirt like van halen, not van hagar.

  • 2 dislikes don't last 4ever.

  • No one could replace Laynes voice, no one.

  • 2 people got it wrong.

  • no time for love Dr. Jones

  • if i could marry a song, this would be the song.

  • 0:00

    ^^^^^

    REPEAT

  • two reason why so many views poster one pay respect to the maker of the greatest most beautifully depressing music layne staley and the other half cause it happen to be in clerks :>

  • @symbolicalcohalic seriously, i really love this band before i ever saw clerks, its just this song always makes me think of it

  • RIP Steeley and Starr.

  • people have to realize, rock singers have to make a fuckin living too. I just think Jerry and the guys should have used a different name.

  • Layne Staley was a tormented genius. the passion and emotion that this man was. and the band! such an amazing band to be pioneers in their own genre and then dip into acoustic and folk and maintain both helms all the while doing it with harmony and rockin out. These guys were always pretty deep. Not just a bullshit band. This song is so fuckin smooth, in a sense too far gone from love.

  • my girls 8 n 6 go outside in the back yard with their ipods n decks and listen to AIC while they r playin.... the neighbors get all pissed and go inside.... their father n I get such a kick out of it!!!! self centered assholes!!!!!

  • Quick, everyone do the Randal!

  • 3:38 why does Layne look bald lol?

  • @italianking29 he rocked the eminem do way before eminem did.

  • Cantrell got a new singer and put out a new album last year under AIC.

    Kinda like what Sublime did.

Don't know how I feel about...but I mean the bands are badass and should make music. Just maybe change the name. ALthough AC/DC, and Van Halen did it and it worked for them.

  • @yourethinkingofsomeo i also think that cantrell got a new singer. they're not AiC, no matter what people will say. same goes for sublime. like you said, they are great musicians and should continue, but not with the same name. AiC were a unity, not cantrell's project.

  • @ARMS0is0still0here ...plus if you hear the new guy he just can't hit the notes like Layne.

  • @ARMS0is0still0here Cantrell solo is AIC even if the album doesn't say so. The other band members are/were awesome but Cantrell was the creativity behind AIC and still is.

  • @ARMS0is0still0here

Yes, but still, the "genious" of the band Is Jerry Cantrell, and like he and the rest of the members are still there, I think it's good they continued with the same name, even though it won't ever be the same, let's face it, Layne, there was only one, there won't be any other, but AIC style is still there, "Black gives way to blue" is a very good album, as well as the other AIC albums, that's why it remains AIC, because it's always good...

  • @ARMS0is0still0here i agree with ya'll it is not the same and will never be herd blind melon did the same they prob keep the name to try to keep the fans interested only reason i can think of

  • @yourethinkingofsomeo

I dunno, it seems abit wierd having a band of the same name same members but a different vocalist, well to me anyways

  • @yourethinkingofsomeo Rome and William never meant to replace Bradley Nowell or Layne Staley. Layne's mother gave them consent to continue with the name after she saw them play a benefit concert of some sort, and Rome said he was just jamming with them and they wanted to do a concert and he refused to go under Sublime so they just added "With Rome" at the end.

  • @yourethinkingofsomeo

Van Halen...Not!.....Fuck Sammy he can't drive 55 and should not have been part of them.

  • Love this song. Would listen to it while insufflating opiates before going to school. It was so euphoric.

  • Ya hit the nail on the head brother...I have played the new CD out...but you don't get that same feeling...props to DuVall...those are big boots to fill...they definitely should have changed their name...this would have avoided the comparison between the "old" vs. "new" Alice....we understand...they have grown and their sound has grown...so a new name would have lent to a new identity....

  • this song rocks

  • This doesnt sound anything like Nirvan what the fuck are you talking about haha

  • my ear cunt has been fucked hell ya fuck ya

  • they tryed to copy nirvana but they still suck....

  • @BaneDays No...just, no.

  • @BaneDays DUDE... DID YOU SERIOUSLY... SERIOUSLY JUST SAY THAT?!?! you sir, are an ignorant cunt!

btw... im a HUGE nirvana fan.

  • @BaneDays Lol, dumbass...

  • @BaneDays are u saying alice tried to copy nirvana? oh thats a good one if you are.. nirvana cant touch this band. - nirvana, non musically talented crap

  • @TheJesusFiles learn 2 play like em and call me ! U STUPID G4YLORD NOOB !

  • @BaneDays dude ive been playing since 92 far from a noob, kurt played like a noob.

  • @BaneDays Shut your mouth! I love Nirvana but Alice are a completely different sounding band!!!

  • Layne will always be a member of AIC his presence will always be with AIC any AIC fan who changes their view based upon the fact that Layne is no longer singing doesnt deserve to be a fan at all... its a band and a very talented band, God and Layne bless AIC!!

  • I agree with JorshWarshington. AIC needs their fans support. Jerry was the main source of material, they still have that AIC sound. Layne can never be replaced but just like the fans the band has to move on. I would rather the guys keep rolling as opposed to letting AIC die with Layne.

  • I love the words people use to describe the bass haha they are always great

  • Starr's bass sounds so fuckin' meaty! one of his best bass lines!

  • @dragonchild25 Mike Inez played bass in this song not starr but i agree with you

  • @Greenmonster97 Maybe I missed something, but the first AIC album with Inez was Jar of Flies. This song was released before Dirt.

  • This song always reminds me of Clerks.

  • layne was such an amazing singer. such powerful live performances. just listen to rain when I die live!

  • Ok, listen up GOD, hear me out we give you justin bibber for Layne staley, deal?

  • Layne and Jerrys voice went so fuckin awesome together! R.I.P Layne...... NO LAYNE NO CHAINS!

  • God I miss you Layne Staley....... You died and left a void in my world. =( Don't do heroin guys. Stick with pot.

  • @SaintPaul122 yep! Good Idea!

  • Jerry and Layne's voices go together so perfectly it's insane. Listen to the crispness of that voice. I want to melt every time I hear it. I need to meet someone that has an equal obsession for Layne Staley.

  • @twelfthfedora17 that would be me i am very obsessed with layne i would of no doubt went threw his trash if let lol

  • @dirtysouthgirl100

AWESOME. I wish there were more people like us. :)

  • @fire93 ITunes.....

  • "Excuse me, have you seen a set of keys around here?"

"No time for love Dr. Jones"

    "Fucking kids......"

  • r.i.p layne staley.......

  • anyways...stp sucks, so did nirvana...these guys had good music that doesn't sound exactly alike and they sing about true feelings. plus these guys were playing BEFORE stp or nirvana. and i agree...there is no aic without layne. i dont care how good they sound now, layne was the one that made it work. RIP. i just wish he could have got help before he passed. they would be going strong. and did you know they asked his dad to sing for the band after he died but he refused.

  • @Thingonetwo Dude.....Stfu. Kurt Cobain had more talent in his left testicle than you have in your entire body.

  • @SaintPaul122 wow man...i thought we were talking about layne not me. grow up. its just an opinion. dont take it so personal.

  • 1 of the great underrated AIC songs,

seeing them for 4th time this year in vegas saturday night..

  • It has a fuckload of views because it's a great fucking song. At least that's my opinion...

  • This video has a fuckload of views because its a great song plain and simple.

  • Yup, No video was made for this video....theyy did for Heaven Beside you, Again, and ahhhh damn drawing a blank...just thinking what was on their self titled cd or "Tripod" whatever ya wanna call it...CD WAS AWESOME!! It was prolly the best next to Dirt....though I'm arguing with the voice in my head and it's saying what about Facelife, Sapp, JAR OF FILIES (Spelling? I'm so high lol) "Tripod" had more Layne written songs on it. LOVED IT!!!! Shame in you!!!!! I can go on and on.

  • @themop08 ya, I'm so silly, why in 2001 when Jerry was touring solo WITH DUVALL and I saw them live at Lupos in providence it was solo Jerry Cantrell, hmm, that thought really puzzles me. Why would Jerry get sean and Mike +nig in hand duvall and call it "AIC" starting four years after Staley died then steadily climbing to a full blown "AIC" tour and new album? Can you say money? God Staley wouldn't even care enough about this dogshit to turn over in his fucking grave.

  • sure duvall does a decent job singing, all he's lacking in is the authenticity behind the lyrics he sings....

  • I'm planning on doin my own cover of this my friend. I just love it so much, hell took my youtube name from it. Anyway, I'm still interested in collaboratin on somethin if you're interested.

  • i like the unplugged better

  • Fucking great song. I miss you Layne...... RIP

  • the reason why everyone hit this is because this is the real verson of this song

  • this always reminds me of clerks

  • @InMyHead75 Yeah, when Randal shows up at the Quick Stop

  • @InMyHead75 me too. "i call first dibs"

  • @InMyHead75 clerks, hell yeah thats how i got here! haha i'm thumbing you up

  • @515shawn now im thumbing u up lol

  • Nothing can beat original AIC. that it a fact. it's like an orgy for my ears.

but i think jerry did a pretty good job on there new album.

  • every song they made with Layne sounds so magic...

  • man did i forget how good these dudes are!!! one of top 3 bands of the 90s easyly....

  • its a good aic song!kick ass!

  • The "Unplugged" version is great, it's so powerful.

  • 3:41 layne actualy looks like an angel

  • @AICpantera

Perhaps if said angel was tripping balls, yeah.

  • @AICpantera That's because he IS an angel! He just is. RIP sweet boy. I'll catcha on the other side.

  • this song was amazing unplugged

  • try not to suck any dick on the way outta the parking lot!!! HEY get back here!!!

  • @lp21046 LOL i love that line

  • 37. In a row? Hey get back here!

  • i LOVE that scene in the movie

  • hey mate that song hit the spot and thanks for the words

  • Great tune-sums up a lot...

  • does anybody know where can i find the original video of this song?????????? :)

  • they never made a video for this one... but they played it on unplugged, so you could find that version on youtube.

  • @ARMS0is0still0here "I bet you 20 bucks they didn't make a video for this song."

    "20 bucks?"

    "20 bucks!"

    "Alright asshole, you're on!"

  • @CoxZucker hahaha!

  • @ARMS0is0still0here Why does this video have a fuckload of views you ask? Because this song kicks fucking ass! It's one of their best, plus it's on the clerks soundtrack, which is actually why the song made the billboard singles charts almost three years after SAP was released. Anything AIC on the tube is gonna get a fuckload of views. BTW which is more, a fuckload, an assload or a shitload, anyone have any thoughts?

  • @CoxZucker Clerks... you have great taste in movies...

  • @CoxZucker did he ever pay up

  • @CoxZucker of course they wont layne is dead..and so is mike starr..

  • @CoxZucker Whenever I pass by a convenience store, or walk into one for that matter, I think about this song. I've also walked into stores walking like Randal. It felt so uncomfortable, I never did it again.

  • @fire93united I wish there was one man, but I don't think their is any music videos for any of the songs from sap. Its a sham that their isn't . I would love for this and Right Turn to have been made into a music video.

  • @fire93united It's featured in Clerks. That sequence (Randall's first appearance) is what I always associate with this song. Good stuff.

  • @fire93united i'm afraid theres is no video for this song, besides the unplugged

  • @fire93united not sure there was one

  • Interesting that people are outraged that one band stole another bands sound when in fact both bands are related around a certain genre.

You could only say a song was stolen if it was the EXACT SAME.

Just because two songs have heavy rifts and a solid, anti-political feel doesn't mean they are exactly the same. And anyway, so what if they were? Both STP and ALC are extremely righteous bands that defined a culture.

  • yes of course but some songs just sounds better live

  • great song... bunch of idiot comments too.

  • @LOUISR09 aha read the one a few down, im jus trolling you idiots its sounds like STP. no...no it dosent it sounds like ALC lmao

  • heard this on clerks it was awesome

  • good song.

  • RIP Layne.............A legend in the sky

  • i LOVE kinney's drumming for the sap EP and dirt demos (1991-ish). he hits so fucking hard, it just sounds awesome on these tracks.

  • you're retarded. the reason this sounds like STP is because STP wishes they were AIC. Layne Staley is Scott Weiland's biggest influence fool. this is pure fucking alice.

  • hahaha i think it's funny that you're swearing at me while being completely and utterly misinformed, not to mention ignorant... i suggest you do a little research before thinking you're right and making yourself look like a dumbass on this page by saying something that stupid. go do some research you dumb, dumb fuck.

  • both of you look like total clueless dumbfucks. congratulations!

  • well, i CAN tell you that. therefore: this does not sound like an STP song at all, it sounds like AiC. have a nice day.

  • i looooooooooove fanboys.

nevermind the fact that AIC was around BEFORE STP, and therefore it would stand to reason, if there was a "sound" to be stolen, STP would be the thieves, not the victims.

nevermind the fact that they are both "grunge" artists whose sound was defined by an era. the bands you could list that sound alike would likely total into the hundreds.

but hey, i hear mr. weiland needs another hit of smack. i bet he'll suck YOUR dick this time.

  • lol fucking noobs

  • "I have come to the conclusion that only dumb fucks use the word ignorant."

I don't know what comment you are referring to but I was just saying that the other day. Usually, those who say words like "ignorant" "ignorance" "idiot" and especially "idiocy" on YouTube are idiots themselves I noticed. Usually. I don't know why that is.

  • so, you you're calling people who say "idiot" idiots? hypocrisy at it's finest. shut up and listen to the best band ever to walk the earth

  • @GodlyVayne I must have struck a nerve with you and now you're crying about it. Don't be a pussy, dude.

  • crying? pussy? no, i simply stated a fact that entertained me :) i just dont really like trollers.

  • There you go again! lol You're still crying about it.

  • wow you got annoying fast

  • Much like you. Next time, mind your business. Or continue to be a guy who wants to argue and criticize everything I say. It's whatever. I know my first post offended you though. I'm sorry it did. Get over it though. Or don't and continue crying about it and calling me names. It's whatever. I'm done with this nonsense though. You can respond but I won't reply to this waste of time. You're probably 12 and that's why you like to do this? Or you're angry at the world? I don't know. Have a good life.

  • wow im sorry you assume im mad or crying or angry at the world or 12 or arguing or criticizing what you say. youre just going on about me pointing out something i noticed. thats all im not mad

  • Ah! You're right. My bad. I apologize. I see it now and believe you. I'm just so used to people getting furious at what I say so I reacted from that angle. I didn't read what you wrote closely like I should have. I get your whole point now. You were just pointing out that I said, "People on YouTube who call people idiots are idiots." When in fact I used the word idiot myself. You weren't being mean about it I guess. I admit I don't always read things that carefully on YouTube sometimes.

  • Once again, my fuck up!

  • all better now?

  • Yes. Now time to have a beer.

  • @poopyscoopy5 you are an idiot man.

  • @poopyscoopy5 AIC came before STP and the STP vocalist admits to copying the sound of both Layne Staley and Eddie Vedder for the cd "Core". He then changed his sound later on away from that style.

But no need for hating, they're both great bands, much better than the shit we have to listen to now!

  • you sound like a moron so shut the fuck up using your two words with the same meaning

  • @poopyscoopy5 You aren't truly trolling someone if you tell them that you're trolling them dude......

  • @poopyscoopy5 This album was out before anyone even heard of stp r-tard.

  • Everybody loves Layne more--that's a fact. I love the original AIC, but it's over. Take some faith in Jerry as a songwriter already. They're a bunch of good guys who need some support. Their new album is pretty much all about Layne. Plus, it's really good, so fuck off.

  • @JorshWarshington i actually like them both the same :p they sound almost just like each other

  • @JorshWarshington no....just no...Layne chose to end the band and true fans of the band who were actually alive and buying and listening to this in the early -mid nineties will back me. THERE IS NO ALICE IN CHAINS WITHOUT LAYNE STALEY. ok? when were you born dude like 1995? not hating on you just wanna know? Its ok you can tell me I know already from looking at your profile, 94', so you're 16, cuntgratulations son. Have you had that bahtmitzva thing yet? I already know your a kike. great!

  • @DaveS12382

    Hey, Kike's like AIC too!

  • @JorshWarshington I agree with you. Layne is missed, truly, but I am a fan of AIC and there are three members who are still there, and really DuVall isn't bad. Check my Brain sounds almost like old 'Chains, and I like it. Anyone who disses them for getting a new lead and moving on is no real fan at all.

  • @BigNick419andholding nobody is mad about them moving on..just not as AIC. layne was too important not only to the sound, but also the vibe and feel, not to mention he was a better frontman. the songs they have now really just follow the formula, unlike when layne was their the music felt more authentic. RIP Mike also a part of the entity.

  • 3:30 layne looks like an angel

  • Reminds me of my saga with Angie babe!!!

  • that's not true. sure, some people hate the new "alice in chains", if you can even call it that, because it's with a new singer. but i don't like it because it's duvall: in my eyes, and nobody has to aruge now, an untalented rip off prick who cant sing, neither write lyrics or even has a bit of an own stage performance.

  • I think he sounds like Layne on some songs. I heard 2 of there songs that sounded a lot like rob zombie and the other I can't pinpoint it but it sounds like something I've heard. He is boring on stage I seen them live and he was just like singing and that was it. There was no "spark" if you will.

  • I'd like it to be made clear that you're more insulting Jerry Cantrell's skills because not only did Jerry Cantrell write 9 of the 11 songs (that includes lyrics), he also either sings lead or colead vocals on the majority of the album.

  • I also think it's unecessary to call him a prick, just because you don't like his voice doesn't mean you have to insult him as a person. He also dresses, and looks very little like Layne. He doesn't even sign exactly like him either, so I don't see why you would call him a rip off who can't sing. Because it's obvious he can sing. Otherwise they wouldn't have let him sing on the album in the first place..

  • well, that's my opinion though. i also ever thought AiC would sell out. and, what happened? they made a very nu metal-like album which sounds like everyhing else these days. where's the trademark sound? gone, because layne is gone. the lyrics are horribly dense, too. if you people enjoy it, then do so, but i find it's an insult to any AiC fan.

  • I suppose it is your opinion, but most of your arguement against him is invalid. I'd also like to ask why anyone in their right mind would write as you describe it nu metalish album if you want to sell out?

  • New metal is far from popular, the same way rock is far from popular in the mainstream these days. Okay, maybe it doesn't sound like Alice in Chains, thats opinion-based, but don't call them sell-outs because they're not. They're lives changed, therefore, their music changed. But of course, thats just my interpretations, and my opinion.

  • I'm just glad they didn't force themselves into write what you and a lot of other fans consider to be an "true" AIC album and instead chose to write from their hearts, because doing that would have made them the sellouts.

  • @poopyscoopy5 what?

  • This is probably my favorite AIC song. Was going to see them in concert last month in TN, but it got rained out =( Mudvayne and AIC, the 2 main bands, never went on, and we all got soaked wating for an announcement about what was going to happen. "Rain or shine" my ass. But, water and electricity are bad idea together, so I understand.
