Moseslawgiver, I know exactly how you feel....I just had to put my dog to sleep yesterday. He was only a puppy when we got him, and I was three, and he has been my best friend for these past fifteen years....but perhaps I'll see him again.
The Film is from the year of 2004. Awesome video and song. I found their combination to be extremely magical and enchanting. you gotta love danny elfman=) the mans talent is completely unbelieveable, and I love, just love the way you matched the clips so evenly to this song, perfect!!!!!!!!
Wow! I'm crying! For some reason it reminds me of my dog, and how special our time together is. Don't ask me why - I just love him so much. Why do dogs have such short lifespans? I never want him to die.
I really hate all the fanvids with music set to movies on youtube. But, there is something really amazing about this. I am fascinated by this, Danny Elfman's Ice Dance is a lovely choice. There is a childlike innocence to his music, that really works with this film.
I loved this movie, and I loved the ice dance from edward scissorhands, but I think it went better with edward scissorhands. Its still a great job though, interesting video.
@rosachka2 they are both also misunderstood geniuses as well, people see edward's creative sculptures and style and find them odd (kim thinks they are creepy at first), while the phantom (in the book) writes opera masterpieces (as well as don juan triumphant, which is the epitome of the darkness of his soul, deep, tragic, and frightening) their geniusness isolates them from other people. the only difference i can think between them is how edward is innocent, while the phantom is cruel.
This is such a wonderful idea! Not just because the music fits the pictures, but especially because of the parallels of both stories and both characters.. edward and the phantom! Both are banned from the society and misunderstood. If I was Kim or Christine I would stay with them...
love both stories and both characters so much, and the music of danny elfman, no words can describe what feelings it arouses in me
There's a difference, though, between the two characters of Erik and Edward. Whereas Edward was a man-made Frankenstein/machine, Erik was a human being with flesh, blood, heart, and soul.
Eventhough Edward didn't physically have all those things, he had feelings and showed emotion no different than a human with real flesh and bones. It kind of makes it irrelevant.. don't you think?
I'm not necessarily a huge fan of musicals (mostly due to the fact that my first experience with musicals was "Cats" which was just weird....sorry to all the Cats fans out there) but the music by Danny Elfman in this is simply amazing.
Okay, now I love Andrew Lloyd Weber, but MAN does this music capture the emotion of the movie and plot. The Phantom is so mysterious, as is the relationship between Christina and the Phantom. I could TOTALLY imagine Danny Elfman putting together a beautiful soundtrack to the movie. He is the king of 'mysterious' soundtrack music - Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, the NIghtmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride.... John Williams and Danny Elfman are my favorite composers, hands down!
Oh man, I went to a concert of Star Wars music last year . . . all 6 movie soundtracks played on a full orchestra. It was awesome. They even did the cantina song!
I love John Williams and Danny Elfman. Best composers ever.
I've seen many Phantom of the Opera video, but this one is still my fave! The choice of music is absolutely perfect, it's beautiful and it's reminiscent of "another unusual couple". Plus, the video's very insightful. It's the first Phantom video that made me cry. Coolness!
Is this a variation of the Scissorhands theme? I must have heard the soundtrack a hundred times by now, but this music sounds.... different somehow... :S
It's a combo of the main theme and "Ice Dance" (the song that plays while she's dancing under the ice sculpture.) I mixed the song this way myself because I wanted something different :)
great music, and great video. elfmans best work is the music from edward scissorhands, no question. and the beauty of POTO and the beautiful images of Christine just mesh together wonderfully, she is so beautiful and the music fits her. one of the reasons i love movies (and youtube vids!).
This (and I know because I am also EmberContest) is a mix of the theme from Edward Scissorhands and the Ice Dance track. It was made by me in a mixer.
Danny Elfman...such a genius and there is something about a majority of his work that just screams Phantom. Great job with utilizing the best parts of the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack.
