Sounds great but don't see many people over 50 there. And yes there are some of us over 50s who love our Internet etc. And some are women and still have a brain cell or two. I'd work there in a heartbeat.

I get to go to the Dublin offices in a few weeks as apart of a short student program. I'm so excited! really hope I can work here when I finish college, just hope my skills are useful to them

Google hires smart peoples, nobody care about skin color. If you are black and smart, then you have chance to get job there. If your stupid and white(black, yellow, red and etc) then you never will get offer from them.

I wasn't fired, I just decided to leave after nearly 3 years there to go and work for a 'real' company (i.e. Irish, smaller, less staff, more risk, more responsibility). I'm glad I did, I would have probably been too afraid to leave my safe Google job once the downturn started. Some people love it there & fair play to them - it's safe, it is considered prestigious to work there for now and you just have to go through the motions. I think if you have any ambition at all, you should go elsewhere.

I used to work there. It is fun at times but you have to take such a load of crap from the management. People normally get sick of it and leave within 2 years. Employees do get shafted on a regular basis,Google just has good PR. If you were there pre-2006,people were fired at the end of the day and escorted out of the building for pretty much no reason - you constantly feared for your job. Unless you're an engineer, it's far from a dream job. It is pressured, institutional and not a meritocracy

@kingpinx3 Sounds a lot like Apple, Its funny too because I know a guy who works for Microsoft in Dublin and he loves it there. It seems a lot of these "good" company's are really some of the worst. I hate it when people let advertising mold their perceptions of a company, Apple being the obvious example.
