They are so flexible! I wish I was that flexible. I know one day since, I want to be a professional ballet dancer,I will get flexible. I am pretty flexible on my right side but not my left. I can't hold my leg up high in the air without hands,thats the thing I am bad at. These girls are very nice.

And if this is what I should be able to do at my age then me, and the other dancers, r WAY behind. @pinkrocksmywurld It's RUSSIAN training. They're training some 10 hours a day to become ballerinas. It's a competition -- only two or three really make it in the industry. Body is everything -- it's not only your instrument for dance, but the thinner you are then the more likely the judges or company will look at you. Plus, the teachers are strict. They don't force them to eat only salad or anything, it's just the girls choosing to do that and get ahead of their peers. It's still as sad, I know.

The girls are not 14. it is just the sequence of the videos taken. this is the 14th VIDEO taken of this level. The girls are accept around 10 or 11, so they are roughly 17 or 18. Maybe 19.
the two girls that did fouettes by themselves were very good.
was i just not watching harder enough or did none of those girls open their leg to devon in their fouettes. i'm pretty sure they opened it striaght to second. is that part of the vaganova system?

yes i look so stupid too. i'm already 14 and just started ballet grade one and lol..... so horrible. all those steps look too childish for me, and the studios here aren't as pro too. boy...

You're never going to be as good as them if you starve yourself. All you need to do is eat really healthy- if you starve yourself you are going to hurt you and your dancing badly!
Is there a reason for working only one side? I understand first group does one side, second group does the other side, but why? It will make you lopsided in the end. Or do they alternate each day?
they don't do that in normal class. this is most likely an exam (always at the end of the year) they make the exams 1 hour (barre, center,jumps, pointe) so one group does one side and so on to save time.
They are the same age as you are - 15. Vaganova Ballet Academy is a professional ballet school. The students are accepted there at age 9 after going through very competetive auditions. Even during the study they need to proof that they are good enough to be ballet dancers. Not all of them will be able graduate. At age 18 those who mannaged to graduate the Academy have a degree in ballet.

If they are in 6 th grade, they must be 17.
You cannot dance in 6 th grade if you're 18 years old. If you're 18 - you're in 7 th grade which is final.
