@THE1PAINOF1THE1GAME in real life the sniper is used to survive, however videogames are not real life. people prefer that you "quickscope" instead of "hardscope" because quickscoping takes more skill than hardscoping does. when you quickscope you have to time your shot and there are more button inputs. the more buttons you press the faster you press them and the more precise your timing is you are seen to have more skill than someone thats just sitting still holding down one button.

Quick scoping was amazingly fun for me back in cod4, since then its become mainstream to the point of me not even wanting to bother with it anymore, i would rather just take that little bit of extra time to line up a headshot instead of spaming gunfire towards someone hoping the games aim assist will take over for me and net me a kill.
