There are many different types of art - abstract, literal, performance, etc. These paintings may not be of anything literal, they may just be blobs and squiggles, but they are still beautiful to look at and the viewer can still see shapes and images in them. It's like when we see certain shapes in the clouds.
You can state your opinion (that you don't like the paintings) without insulting others in the process.
some may say the the painting elephants are better but if you ask me, an an artist, I could say that cholla paints at his own will and is an artist at heart, he doesn't paint because he was trained to do so, nor he is obliged to be fed... he just wanted to paint...
I also see some image in some of his paintings... I'm planning to make actual drawings from his paintings as I see them...
don't usually believe in chain comments, but this one is pretty cool. u don't need to do it, but when u read it, u might smile. :)There are 20 angels in this world10 are sleeping9 are playing1 is reading thisput this on 4 video comments within 15 mins,if u do, sum one u love will surprise u sum how!! hi Ernie, it does not seem that way. he refuses food while he paints. he is semi-wild, son of a Mustang, and not trained to paint. all other horses would chew and destroy the brush in a minute. he does it because he wants to, ethologists, say. it's a very interesting scientific (and artistic) case, come visit the exhibit! In venice until 15 June, Giudecca795
Maybe it is just me but I see a lot of birds in his pictures...guess it makes sense it is something he sees every day :-)
