When someone's chasing you, you use your cloak to confuse which direction they think you're going, then end up behind them and stabstabstab.

aother thing, the kinfe in actual fight is about 10 times better than revolver,not ambassador, because you can do facestabs or a side stab very very easy, in 8 of 10 cases i get the kill.

Face stabs are have been almost completely done away with as a result of the latest changes to backstab mechanics. The revolver is almost always preferable to gambling against a medic and his bonesaw with your knife.

most of the time when someone is chasing u, you might want to cloak and the run in the opposite direction. unless its a pyro, then u want to cloak, keep running until either they give up, or they loose sight of you.

2 things I'll add

On 2forts bridge, if you are found but not on fire, a good plan is to cloak and just sit on the side railing, they never expect that.

Also, disguising as a spy is a very uncommon thing, but the spy, medic, and scout are the worst classes for beginners. If you know what you're doing (pro), you can make some good strategies useing those.

here is a spy tip when in discize dount let the enemy see you at blank range even in discize try to apper as a enemy figere to them and dount get too close it will give away your position and if the enemy is dumb enogh stay still lol it can work

For me it makes more sense that a engineer goes back to the base to (not) make a sentry or a dispenser.

If your disguised as an enemy class,(i.e. an engineer) that same class on the other team will see their own gamer-tag above your guy instead of your gt.

So seeing their own gamer-tag above a "teammate" is a dead give away that youre a spy.

I think it helps if you disguise yourself as a class that the enemy team doesn't have on their team.

what it does is pick a name from the enemy team depending on what class you chose, as an example 1 guy named bob was a pyro on the opposing team and you disguised as pyro everyone on the enemy team would see you as bob. but if there are none of the class you chose on the enemy team it just picks a random name from the opposing team.

the game picks a random name, and everyone sees that same name. Whether or not you run into the guy whose name you took depends on how lucky you are =P

wow... the pistol doesnt own the knife in any situation, no matter how good at headshots you are, the knife is the only weapon in the game that can 1 hit kill anyone.

if your a good spy, you would run around and trick the enemy to turning their back against you so you can backstab.

SPY RULE #1!! Your knife is your best friend, the revolver is just for decorations!

But nobody's perfect. From time to time you'll get caught as a spy and the only thing the knife can do for you in such situations is based on luck - otherwise using it will get you killed...

Your knife is actually useful in close quarter combat situations. There's something called quickstab 180. When an enemy is facing u and very close to you, you could try to get a backstab by turning around while his back is visible.

iv herd someone call that a "sneaky embrace" personally i just call it the sidestep maneuver. the quickstab is more commonly attached to the skill of attacking before reaching a target, thus negating the animation and saving time. while the tactic is usefull on meleeing enemies, scouts, and pyros...it's risky. the revolver is a very slightly better choice to the in-experienced.

I have a tenancy to miss the backstab, or run into enemies that fly out of doorways as I run through them, thus blowing my cover... So fucking irritating when it happens again and again.

One of my fav techniques is to cloak and run around a corner. The enemey will usually run right by you letting you continue on. It's worked pretty well for me so far. Unless it's a pyro, then just run.
