Very creative and this coach does what most coaches (including the NFL) fail to do...UTILIZE ITS PERSONNEL TO THE BEST OF ITS ABILITY. This school is smaller than average so playing "smashout" football is not an efficent use of the players you have. People, like @BBetow78, are just closed minded and afraid of change.
@ BBetow78. Your a dumb ass. I hope your kids have aids you dumb bastard;ditching soccer. Yea, someone needs to smash your damn both you sorry bastard let the damn kids play football how the hell they want you SOB. If you can't stop that offense then you need to someone in who can. Die bitch.
this is the death of football as we know it!! "Lazy football, because you have slow, fat dumb players" BS, no this is a scheme because your boys aren't man enough to play smashmouth and run it down someone's throat. If you don't want to play real football take this crap and go play soccer.
random practice jersey. and yeah it was jv but also small school, most small schools like svc aren't big in size... but svc is one of the smallest in size, but def the fastest...
With strong christian values...showing compassion and sportsmanship should be demonstrated here and it is obviously not. It's beyond me why a Christian school would champion an ideal that is clearly unfair to the opponent and referrees who try to call a fair game. To me, again here comes my opinion, I expected a little more from private Christian schools.
A "Christian school"!!!! The reason it's controversial is because it is exploiting the punt formation!!! It's unethical when you line up in the spread punt formation every single play when it's not a punting down. I am appalled that the Christian school cannot see this. In my book it's cheating.
"Your book" doesn't matter. If there wasn't a rule against it at the time it was run, it isn't cheating. How is that unethical? Do you even know what unethical means? because it doesn't pertain to football in any way. Half of football is finding ways to bend the rules (I.e., some players that hold just enough to have an advantage, but not enough to draw a flag. DTs or DEs that line up just barely inside the neutral zone). Doesn't matter anyways, the NFHS banned the A-11 Nationwide.
Ethics has a lot to do with every aspect of life (including sports).
There was a christian school basketball coach recently fired for leaving his starting lineup the whole game to beat a team by 100-0. Are you going to tell me that's ok too? Ethics and sportsmanship go hand in hand.
Instilling moral values (ethics) in these young men should be at the top of the list for educators and coaches. Not exploiting rules to win a freaking football game. It is an unfair advantage...bottom line.
It isn't an "unfair advantage" if every team is allowed to do it. It helps teams with less size compete by using their speed. Teams with a lot of big OL and big, brusing halfbacks and fullbacks tend to use the I-form to exploit their size and strength. Are you going to tell me thats an "unfair advantage" as well? Its football. You do all you can within the limits of the game to win. If you can't accept that, go cry about it.
Point is...every player in traditional football should NOT be a receiver. This is why we have "ineligible receiver downfield" calls. If we legalize this style of play...it would change the way football is/has ever been played. We don't want to create another sport...we just want football.
"...we just want football"? If there are 11 players on each side of the ball playing on a field 100 yards long and 53.3 Yards wide with endzones ten yards deep and touchdowns are worth 6, field goals worth 3, safeties worth 2 and extra points worth 1, I'm pretty sure you've still got football. If all 11 players shouldn't be eligible, then why even allow 5 to be eligible? If we can't have 5 eligible, why not outlaw 3, 2, and 1 receiever sets? I guess we should just run 100% of the time, huh?
I am talking about gameplay smart guy...that's the obvious part.
Each position has their assignment. It's like a well oiled machine...there are many different parts but each serve very specific purposes.
I'll repeat it...we don't want 10 receivers and 1 quarterback. Power football (brutes) will be a thing of the past if this was legal...they will just be outrun. This...my friend...changes the game of football.
"we don't want 10 receivers and 1 Quarterback". First of all, speak for yourself. Second, the A-11 typically uses 2 Quarterbacks. Power Football already is a thing of the past. Ever seen a Texas Tech game? Power Football is a great thing, but it is now obsolete with the invasion of the Spread. And lots of things "change the game of football". I'm sure you're going to complain about the switch from leather to polymer helmets or simple rule changes. Again, if you don't like it, cry about it
You really are a complete idiot. "organized football" just means that there is a governing body and established conferences/teams/leagues/divisions. This team is CLEARLY an organized football team. And I could "keep playing pickup games in the park". Or I could make the All-State team. Again, I mean.
Young man...you really don't know as much as you think you do. Lose the arrogance.
I think you are missing my point. Your definition of "organized football" supports my point. The reason for a governing body is to get rid of the loopholes (which this A-11offense is clearly doing...check wikipedia out). There is no place in Organized Football for the A-11 Offense. It is too much like pickup games ("school yard" football is what they call it in this video). Don't need your resume for credibility.
No, I do. You see, this argument is a matter of opinion. You can't say that I "don't know as much as I think I do" When this isn't a matter of fact. So, YOU need to lose the arrogance, retard. There aren't any two definitions of "Organized Football". "Organized Football", in its true definition, is what I said. You're thinking of an Organized Offense. However, the A-11 IS an organized offense, because they run specific plays out of different A-11 sets, hence, organization.
Sure did...but neither of those formations made any of the defensive positions obsolete. You will still have down lineman and a limited amount of recievers. Neither of those come close to being as extreme as the A-11 offense. If the A-11 offense was legal...why would anyone run anything else anyway? At any given point...someone will be open.
OOOOOOOOOo someone googled how big a football field is OOOOOOOOOO
point is football is won and lost in the trenches even in spread football if the Olineman cant pass block then the offense wont be able to throw this offense take away the trenches and makes it a new game which is why TRUE football fans r pissed
It doesn't matter why they asked him. Your statement was "There was a christian school basketball coach recently fired for leaving his starting lineup the whole game to beat a team by 100-0" which is false in every way. Don't try and dig yourself out of it now.
my hs ran the double wing!! we made it to the playoffs!! the reason why we ran the doublewing was bc it fit our personell! i also played in the spread offense before my senior year and it was 5 down lineman 1 rb 4 wrs and QB!
this coach is a fucking pussy football is about honor tradition and teamwork
this coach doesnt promote any of those things he promotes cheating going off on ur own and destroying something that has stood for 100+ years
football is a BIG MAN sport and i wonder how the big guys at his school feel whenever theyre not "good enough" for this pussy style of play
football is a sport were anybody can play doesnt matter how slow u r it just matters how tough u r this shit just ruins that
addell33 2 months ago
and whenever i say BIG MAN i mean someone who has the balls to go tear someones head off doesnt matter how much bigger they r than u
