I'm a hairstylist in a predominantly white state/city. There are only 6% blacks here and you don't see styles like this. Despite that, I think this is beautiful. I don't think this is ghetto at all. And just to clarify- ghetto means a group of people of the same financial and social class and of the same race in a neigborhood/community. So that means the rich and white in Beverly hills live in a ghetto :) Ghetto does not equal black. If someone acts "ghetto" it is not a black thang. Go head on!
ohh ma tht lookin perrrttttehhh lol this is a lovely style do u got any suggestions for a black teenager [15] up north that isnt as detailed as this but kinda makes you think.....um.... aaliyah look in "are you that somebody" at least
I'm applying to a beauty college here in mississippi and watching video like this give me hope that this will be me one day. Thanks Ladies keep up the good work
you all are so right about this. who are you to say what a "ghetto" hairstyle is??? all styles are works of arts to me because someone is putting there talent and creativity into it ya hear me??? and it depends on how you act when you have a so called hairstyle it's not the style its the person
I think it's really funny how everyone thinks hairstyles like this are "ghetto" simply because they are associated with Black hairstylist. But no one notices the fact that all of high end and European designers who claim to get inspiration from the "streets" then throw something very similar to this on prodominantly white models and call it Haute Catoure. Then, it's not ghetto, it's fashion. *shakes head*
@thatgirlfit85 I agree, from a hairstylist point of view these types of styles take much creativity to achieve and skill.. Some black ppl just need to learn how to appreciate and support other black stylist and their work. Everything isn't always ghettos just because it has spritz on it
Ghetto hair style-HATERS-This is a work of art and skill.I bet the people who hate on this are people who cannot do it!!!For all you know this could be for a hair show-better yet this sista can have her own business..Keep up the good work-ANN and Contagiousstyles.
well excuse me, i didnt have the sound on when i watched, and the other video had a man doing hair, and she do hair so bomb!!! thanks for the correction...

Yeah and most black women neglect their own hair and texture by buying other people's hair and attaching it to their head. Looking like clowns and coons
This style can be done on anyone because hair extensions were used. If this is something you may be interested in, just make sure you get a yaki texture (not silky, or premium yaki) Just a basic yaki texture pack of hair like outre or milkyway (I prefer motown tress yaki) because of the molding/sculpting that is involved.
I love this. But I think I missed the main part. How to you attach this hair in the first place to make it stay without using the ponytails that have the combs and the drawstring? Please make another video showing this. Thanks in advance.
u take some tracks and put ur hair in a ponytail and wrap the tracks around ur hair and keep it in place using the bobby pins. its real easy i do stuff like this.
No one really uses bobbypins anymore because they are too bulky & uncomfortable. Here is the modern way we do it. Once your hair is molded into a pony, you take some end wraps, neck strips, paper strips, ect and wrap around the base of your pony & secure with a rubberband. Then you will take a pack of hair, apply glue to the weft and wrap it around your base. Since you secured the base of your pony with paper, the glue will not come in contact with your hair.
That's who I need to do my hair because I hate to say it but my hairstylist can't do hair that good you go in the shop not knowing if you gonna come out looking good or bad because she does good some days & bad the next than they have some stylist that only do the people with short thin hair & I pay to much money for it to look like nothing now she look like she know how to hook you up.

What kind of dryer do you use, because it's npt blowing the hair and what kind of products?
chosen2serveHim 3 years ago
You can use any dryer, just make certain it's on low. For products you need a styling spritz and a holding spray

Was that an oil sheen and hair spray mix. If not, wouldn't all that alcohol hurt the hair? I would assume that it's an easy maint. hair style.
