i think you are correct about laying down the money for a set. I dont really like the set myself so ill pass but botcon is a money pit. i went in 2010 and had the primus package but still had to pay to meet peter cullen. now im glad i got my autograph but i think botcon should work out more like other cons where if you buy the vip or like primus package you get all autograph of the big players.
i completely echo this. im a toy collector first and when the toys are this irrelivant to me, it truly dissapoints. so many opportunities they have and this half assed boring idea is what we get? id rather have animated protectobots.
I was going to make the 6 hour drive to botcon I have always wanted to go .. But thinking about it just seems like a big waste of time and money to me and I too don't care about the set this year
@bobgilmer It isn't all about the set, though, too. I have never kept the toys myself (besides last year's Animated set) and always flip the sets during the convention so the trip is "free" for me to attend. I go for the fun and friend and general camaraderie. I'd say that you shouldn't ditch the convention just because of the set, however you decide to feel about it. Hanging out with friends is, to me, the best thing I could wish for. :D
