Interesting stuff but Oswald's actions hang him. His getting the bus and taxi-getting out before 1026 NB- and his shooting Tippett. If he was 'set up' why didn't he expose the plotters to the world's press instead of repeating the 'Patsy' legend? Why did 'they' wait two days? Why silence someone who knew nothing except his own guilt?
If he was set up and was ignorant of the plot-how could 'they 'control his actions? What was stopping him wandering onto the grass and being caught in the Z film?
@MALCBAGGIE: Search 'Aquilla Clemons' on Youtube. Two men were seen with Tippet and one of them killed him, as seen by Aquilla Clemons. Guess what ? None of the witnesses who saw 2 men with Tippet were ever interviewed by the FBI, or were invited to take part in the 'identification parade'. Tippet was killed by two mob members who were on their way to silence Oswald. Unfortunately, Tippet stopped them on the street and they had to flee after killing him. Ruby was drafted in to silence Oswald.
Aquilla Clemons was a proven bad witness-as was Oswald's land lady who said she heard the police car sound it's horn outside 1026 NB.
If Oswald was involved he would have had to know enough to blow the plot in front of the live TV cameras-by dropping one name. No way (if he really was a Patsy) would he have passed up that chance.
With Oswald, I always look at the footage of him first being brought into the Dallas police station via the garage and see the smirk on his face-which he later hid.
I can see a scenario for a small conspiracy where Oswald (egged on by pro-Castro renegades) willingly commits the assassination alone. Maybe this would fit with the 'other' people seen with Oswald and other suspicious activity etc-but would also explain his actions in fleeing, ordering the rifle etc.
Then any cover up by the government would have been to avoid a potential war if Castro was linked with JFK's death.
I just can't see how Oswald was set up. Sirhan Sirhan-yes.

once again, the patsy remark was made in the context of reporters asking him if he was in the building (TSBD) at the time of the shooting. Why do people assume the radio transmissions would have to be for the snipers to shoot, they could be talking to anybody involved, perhaps confirming the kill or giving a heads up on the nature of the head wound, hell it could have been for anything BUT "OK..1,2,3 FIRE!". There were enough identifying markers that would have been needed. It IS possible the man's hand signal was used as a timer based on the necessity for certain wounds, etc but even that is "possibly".

I think it was a radio to hear the news!! The pic was taken when the radio was near his mouth if a series of pics where taken it might have gone to his ear who knows. Unfortunately they didn't have iPhones back then. So you can't tell what he was doing. The umbrella could have just been to block out the sun to get a better look at the president. The fist could have been anger or happiness towards the president. We will never know.

with radio communication to the sniper teams they could get a precise timing count as when to fire. each shooter has a spotter to break down the rifle, pick up ejected shells and deflect any interruption in escape- with the ensuing commottion simply meant blending into the crowd and walking away. once the imediate attention to the grass knoll area was deflected to the book depo complete with a patsy - we were all expected just to go along to get along -let hoover and lbj tell us the "truth"

She's in the infield area shooting a movie with her brand new camera, but the film was taken from her by a "suit", never to be seen again. This was another film angle from opposite Zapruder. Umbrella man is the ONLY person in Dallas with an open umbrella, right where the shooting starts, and it rotates (pans) as JFK passes him....he's just to the right of the sign in the Z film. the umbrella open meant the operation was a GO-the man extending his arm almost straight and hand into a fist was a reference point to count off the timing of the shots. the shots were synched up in a plaza that would confuse the public. once the limo past the man extending his arm the snipers teams each with a spotter could give a "seconds" count as they panned the target in the kill zone. these ops have to be tightly co-ordinated with radio communication up till the final seconds.

@larrywheels - I think the umbrella ALSO was the visual point to FIRE (when JFK is at the umbrella, fire). Can't rely on watches or radios, etc. The plan was for ONE volley of fire with a head shot and it's OVER and would sound like ONE shot (then you'd only see ONE shell on the floor to frame Oswald). That was botched, so more fire was needed. If Jackie had pulled Jack down to her lap, he might have lived with the bullet in the back and one in the throat. Grassy knoll was the "fail safe" shot.

No windows would be allowed to be open, yet they were. And most important, a presidential motorcade shouldn't go slower than 40mph. No official capacity stops the 'umbrella man'....... Oswald did not "flee" the sniper spot on the 6th floor. He did not flee because he was not inside the TBD. He was outside on the ground level, standing in the front entrance to the TBD. There was no way he could have shot JFK from upstairs, since Oswald was photographed on the ground floor, outside the TBD as JFK's limo passed by. I can see a scenario for a small conspiracy where Oswald (egged on by pro-Castro renegades) willingly commits the assassination alone. Maybe this would fit with the 'other' people seen with Oswald and other suspicious activity etc-but would also explain his actions in fleeing, ordering the rifle etc.
Then any cover up by the government would have been to avoid a potential war if Castro was linked with JFK's death.

That would be in his training regardless of any pressure of any situation. As a mtter of fact, that's basic military training. As you know he was a Marine..

If he had been framed he must have known he'd be silenced-or face the death penalty or life imprisonment. I think ''training'' would go out the window then. If you're right-he wouldn't have even said he was a 'patsy'-he would have said NOTHING. I just look at the defiance in LHO's eyes-and the lazy smirk.

@MALCBAGGIE I admit that claiming to be a "patsy" sounds like a defense but is there any evidence of ANYONE being a CIA agent or informant? They are all undercover. And yes, they are trained to take secrets to their grave or any other consequence. At the point of a "blown cover", they do not reveal anything, regardless of circumstances. LHO did not plan on being shot by Ruby but I do feel that if he was tried and convicted and given the death penalty, he still would not have talked.

once again, the patsy remark was made in the context of reporters asking him if he was in the building (TSBD) at the time of the shooting. LHO replied "naturally if i work there yes". when officers pushed him into the interrogation room he said "i'm just a patsy". in other words, they arrested me out of convenience to them closing the case or looking like they were doing something. you must watch the video of this and note the context or you misunderstand everything.

(after all, he had nothing to fear from the American people, in a way he would be a hero). Oswald was to meet his handler at the theatre. The handler wasnt there and he was arrested. He didnt know enough to say anything, only that he had been duped. See Hoover's memo which names another 'patsy' in case LHO couldnt be located.

my inclination now is that umbrella man was more of a signal to the driver than the shooters, because when the umbrella goes up kennedy is already hit once, and the umbrella is infront of one street sign so it would have been covered to the shooters behind the fence. after the umbrella goes up, the car slows down.

I'd like to say this, I admit on the surface it does seem very odd, but put yourself in both of their shoes. UM- maybe he was telling the truth. Maybe it was just a political statement he was trying to make to Kennedy, AND IF THAT IS TRUE, then that would explain his rather short answers to the committee when he finally was brought in for questioning. Someone like that is an arogant smart ass. DCM - if YOU were DCM - AND you were a spotter, would you have a radio? A LARGE one? No way in haites.

Bowers also saw a suspicious man drive in the Knoll parking lot holding a radio or something to his mouth. The man giving the umbrella excuse is probably giving the same excuse they intended to give at the time in case they got caught. Witt gives himself away by denying his radio friend was right next to him and partnered up with him sitting on the curb. Looks like we've got two of them here. They never found the dark complected man. Did the confiscated Oliver film get a good shot of these men?

I don't believe the Umbrella Man is the man the CIA told the HSCA he was. The CIA could easily have asked a CIA connected man to pretend to be the Umbrella Man, and that's what I think happened. I find it too strange that the Umbrella Man and the "negro" (who looks more like a Cuban to me) did not run like everyone else after the shots rang. And what's with the big-ass radio? Why did the negro (Cuban) have a radio?

Transistor radios were a big thing back then. A walkie talkie would have been huge. Yes, parasols were used a lot in the intense Dallas sunshine. @Verdelufe So a bullet missed, that's a widely held view. Oswald did a lot of visiting to many unsavory political spots. His own brother said he was depressed and looking for something to do that would make him famous. General Walker event is the "Rosetta Stone" for the Kennedy assassination. The Zapruder film clearly shows the PUFF of Connally's lapel, and JFK's head wound was from the rear. I was at the 6th Floor in 1994, so I didn't know that they had a new exhibit. What was their conclusion?
