Need to see details to understand why it took a year and half to do a drawing. I have unfinished drawing from when I was 7. I should finish one, that way it will have taken me 36 years to have finished :)
1.5 years in the making took a kid only 30 seconds get bored dislike and say something dumb in the comments about your work... irony or poetic injustice?
Woaw 1.5 years :0. Awesome dedication!!! I'm also looking for one that will only be used for drawing. But I don't know what is the best one to buy since I want to keep my budget low. It will be used only for drawing.
I doubt it would take you that long to draw this, even though I admit it IS pretty good, it wouldn't take you THAT long to do considering you took the time to scan it after adding tiny bits onto it...
@kiz890 it's drawn on a tablet on the computer so I do believe that there is no scanning of the picture. jst save files added to show us the progress.
nice work, yknow life gets in the way of finishing a piece sometimes, and for me personally, i get distracted easily. kudos for finishing your work, an eventual persistence
@BedoDaVinci I apologize for fellow humanity's ignorance. Only another artist (like myself) can understand why something like this took so long. Just know that all is not lost and your work is truly appreciated by me! I would love to buy a print one day (when I'm able. Starving artist, ya know). It really is an excellent piece and I'm amazed at your skill. Do you have a DeviantArt? I would like to watch you on there :)
Guys don't bash the artist. You have no idea what they were going through at the time of the drawing or how busy with real life they were. It was also probably a very large and detailed file, much more detailed than can be seen here. Before you criticize, bash, and troll, take a second to think first. To the OP: Awesome work!
i can do that in 2 weeks dedicated time with a silenced dark room, and im not very talented,, unfortunately i dont have that dedicated time or the dark silence room :( and i would write my life instead to sell it :)(, skeeping just a few moments :}}}
ok i such a beautifull work, but maybe he was working on other stuff while he was making this, because on some months i see that he only add some lines but nothing dramatical.
@kervin3233 your too late, 5 months ago someone said it took them 3 months to do that, this one took me 48.5 years... because it is sooooooooooo long... =_=
Tried a tablet before and it takes about 3-4 times more time then just using a pen or pencil. 1.5 yrs seems a long time, I'd have been tempted to throw the tablet in the bin and start from scratch with pencil on paper after a couple of days. Nice drawing though. Oh, were you getting paid by the hour?!?
@blueroanfilly1 "more of a horse girl" what does that even mean, you prefer any drawing if it has a horse in it? lmao point is, its a cool picture, there's a lot of effort in place with that much layering..
All that work for 800x1000 pixels... Sheesh. Why would you do that to yourself. Hope you never want to print this into a postcard. All joking aside... GREAT WORK!
jan 8 - Feb 9 - March 10 dude, if I drew one line and then waited an entire month to do another line, of course anyone would take a year to complete a drawing
This is beautiful and I can be the first to admit that with such great detail that it would have taken a long while to do such work. On the other hand, I find it hard to believe that at a constant rate that it would have took you a year to draw this. Maybe 15 minutes here and an hour there over the year.
I can understand if You would not have the time to complete this sensational piece of work.... I would not believe it would take over a year but I can understand your point.... But I must say this artistic picture has a sort of old fashion taste to it,,,, bravo :)
@GixxerR5 ... even though this might seem a funny comment... colour and grayscales are essentially the same... they are gradients... they are different shades... so no, it wouldn't take any longer at all... nice try though... and I wonder how you combine a gsxr with an R5 to create a gixxerR5... must take ages
Why did it take so long? was it on a huge scale? you upload an ultra high res version of it so we can appreciate the intense detail you must've added?
Idiots... Do you know how hard it is sometimes to keep your motivation doing one and the same drawing with THAT much detail!? Try it yourself if you don't believe it...
well dude this is freaking great love ur shades and texture but it seems as u didnt work on it everyday so it took you that long lol but itotally get that cause i do the same if i where to do something like this straight with no stoping it woud probably take me a month
it doesnt even look finished, it doesnt matter how long it took you, i know people who could to that in a few days
dont get me wrong, AMAZING skill, but come on, you couldve worked faster, i meant.... 1 1/2 years? you might as well filled the whole layer with drawing
Wow, you are slow! Just because it took so long doesn't mean it's worth it or great. The same applies to if something is old doesn't mean it's worth a lot of money. Besides smart artists lock philosophy in their art, where is the philosophy in yours and how deep is it?
@kotapaka aesthetic itself can become a philosophy. I'm not a professional artist but I've been having similar thoughts about what does it means to be an art. what defines the quality of good art is not just the intrinsic meaning behind them, but the effort and masterful craftiness that went into a art with a careful thought. I think BedoDavinci's work is drawn with an extreme care. I think not everyone can devote an year into a piece if they hasn't put into a great passion.
@fpemtpdlqj First comes philosophy. There are millions who can draw but that's not the point. The point is to put something into the drawing. For all we know I can take a picture of the thing you are trying to draw and it will only take a few milliseconds and will be much better than any drawing. So first you need to learn philosophy which means you might have to learn some science (they only learn the easy stuff about science). Otherwise you are a slow human camera!
@kotapaka That is a great point, and I agree. However, if you haven't noticed the philosophy in my drawing, welcome to the 99% club of people who can't get beyond the superficial details ;). Look again, and not very closely.

simply an amazing piece of art, you my friend, has a patience that i would just die for. Most pictures i can only stand drawing for 4-6 hours. But you show such dedication its inspiring :) in fact im going to finish my drawing of a siberian husky (which is EXTREMELY detailed) which i am not even done with yet.....even though it does look done, im still missing shading, a few smudges, and color....
@MoisChanVsTamama i wasn't paying attention to how many years went by. pfft oh well. he may not be making those but i was just trying to encourage him so i can see more. im an artist and i do traditional media...seeing this digital art looking so "undigital" just got me all excited SHEESH!
do artists still very much stick to paper and real paints for fine control? I'm not an artist but im guessing there are limits with computer drawing compared to real hand art
The reverse is actually true, the computer gives one greater precision. One can do far more fine detail on a computer, simply because one can zoom in & zoom in & zoom in. Especially if one works in a resolution-independent environment.
Traditional paint media I feel is unbeatable for the messiness. The smell, the feel, the limitlessness of possible techniques. But not the accuracy, the computer gives one accuracy and control over detail.
Or Egon Schiele. Matisse. Pollock. Bacon. Munch. Klimt. Kandinsky. Van Gogh. That's what the physical as a medium is about. Feel over detail, texture & responsiveness.
Works like those of HR Giger or Salvador Dali, an approach better suited to a digital medium.
whoa, this is some piece. And what dedication! working on a single project for that time period would be almost impossible for me(one of those artists with adhd) ^__^
For doing such a piece on small scale like this needs respect already , but the rest of the work is just amazing I know few people who could pull something like that out and your one of them. :)
amazing dedication like that makes me proud to be an artist!im still in high school but im trying my best to make art for people to enjoy :) nice work
In all honesty how fucking pissed would u have been if like round the end of the pic u had forgotten to back up the pic and u got a virus and it whipped or corrupted the file ... how pissed would ye be like
A beautiful piece of work to be sure, and tho I do not know if it has been said, and I am not willing to read thru 446 comments to find out-tho I did read a few that said it reminded them of a a va-jaja. It reminds me of Dantes Inferno. Bodies intertwined in pain and pleasure. Haven't the faintest what it is actually supose to be, and didn't see any comments that actually SAY for sure what it is .so that is my input! Either way, I find this to be breath taking!-no matter how long it took you.
Yes, Good Detail, but man... umm couldn't you think of something better to draw ?

I agree that artwork has to involve a thought, but I don't think that's what defines a good work of art.
how can you be sure that what audience is seeing through the work of art is the same thing that artist is thinking of?
I think that kind of dramatic approach might lead us to limit our window of creativity in order to make it an obvious enough for audiences.
I think might be bit too chauvinistic to simply deny other approaches (perhaps genres / branches) of work of art.

so are these tablets what artists use to create video game covers and album art design and concepts and stuff like that?

It's really nice.
But there's no need to mention the fact that it took so long. It's clearly just sparking negativity.

For doing such a piece on small scale like this needs respect already , but the rest of the work is just amazing I know few people who could pull something like that out and your one of them. :)
Thank you.
