@Billyfrankallen Yes it is, at least in the beginning part. I used to work for Halliburton, and I saw Dave Lesar in a business conference and even shook his hand. It IS his voice. Halliburton should be investigated since Cheney and Bush are the major stock holders.
Prescott Bush was the CEO of a company that joined up with Halliburton in 1951 giving the Bush family stock in that company. Cheney was the head CEO of Halliburton right up until he became the VP of the US. No wonder they want to keep this war going. They both are Major stock holders in Halliburton.

@newguy33X its not only pensions, Dick Cheney owns big parts of KBR and HALLIBURTON. How do u get ur company in the good graces of top politicians? EASY give them 2% of your company, so that if your company gets a lot of money, so does the politician that backs you.
wow this guys voice goes from michael cerra from arrested develpment to a fucken cartoon voice in a matter of seconds but funny and true im not a liberal by the way i just have a brain
This is not the modern day military. It's Americans who see whats happening and will actually do something besides e-mail 10 friends. Im talking about taking what used to be ours by force.
The reason is finally explained. We all need to see this. Especially after about the 1 hour mark (the 911 stuff). Part 3 is very cool too. (Remove the spaces after the 2 dots)
Halliburton got a multimillion dollar to extract the gold fillings from the dead in New Orleans. Just like the Nazis in the German camps. Anybody still asleep?
Haliburton contracts are Cost +, which means they get paid more for spending more. This creates huge waste. Taxpayers pick up the tab. Cheney is the ultimate culprit. He makes sure only Haliburton get the contracts. He owns more than $30m in H stock options. He also has a mansion in Dubai (valued at $12.5m) waiting for him when he leaves office next year. Blackwater will provide him 24/7 security. His crimes are so treacherous, blatant and transparent... it's utterly sickening.
He has no involvement in Iraq, he's part of the northwestern Canada engineering team. he is the head of the engineering team but really he works for Sperry Sun who halliburton bought a few years ago...
After Dick Cheney's former company ( Halliburton ) secured bloated US contracts worth billions -- the Halliburton CEO moved the company headquarters to Dubai.
Halliburton has set up shell corporations so Halliburton's "US citizen" employees could reduce their burdensome US taxes. We need to elect leaders who will not the give the corrupt Dubai corp. Halliburton -- more US government contracts.
I have to wonder if this war wasn't staged to start with to line Halliburton's pockets (and all of those affliated with it, including our Vice President). Check out "Halliburton moves to Dubai" on YouTube. We the people need to throw the greedy bastards that run this country out of office?Impeachment proceedings should prefail if for no other reason than to taint the administraions names in the history books so that future generations know why they were handed such an outrageous deficit.
But since that'll never happen, expect corporate interests to be represented to a far greater extent than that of the common loafing citizen, whose measly annual pittance means nothing compared to the big bucks lobbyists offer our reps.
There will be more 911s if we backdown more lifes can be saved than destroyed. They wont stop untill there destroyed. Saddam was sick gasing his own people, if we arrest people who have murdered a person then why shouldnt we arrest Saddam. Is it ok to kill hundreds of people like Hitler? If it is ok to kill inocent people then we lost all our morals. Disagree all you want just think about it.
Saddam is dead. Didn't the war end after Hitler killed himself and V-E day happened?
Is it ok to go to someone else's country and force them to change all they've known? What if China came here and forced us to adopt their cultural views, wouldn't you take up arms against the invader? Put yourselves in their shoes first.
The was small German resistance after the war. So your saying genocide is perfectly fine? What about the Kurds how do you think they felt when Saddam came in and droped gas and shot survivors. We never forced Iraqis to our culture. We are there to remove a dictator who kills his people and setup a free government. Yes if China attacked us I would be fighting back. Think about this if we pulled out of Iraq think of all the lifes wasted, all the disabled soldiers. The country would destroy itself.
The dictator is removed, in fact dead. We did our job and should be out. If we don't pull out of Iraq, think of how many more lives and money will be wasted. I support our troops 100%, what I don't support is the way they are being manipulated. Give the people back their land and they will rebuild. It's already happening in some of the outskirts of Baghdad with tremendous success. All these people want are us out of their country.
Well theres more to it than that. I support our troops to and want them out of harms way. We started it and now its a mess. If we pulled out now the Suni and the Shiites would be having a civil war. Basically whats going on is some want us out, some support us, terrorists are fighting us, and we are holding back a civil war. Until we can breakup the fighting between the two groups and establish a strong Iraqi military we are going to be in Iraq.
@eboundee Exactly!!! Who do we think we are to take over a country and try to make them think and do as we do? I learned about Propaganda in school. Only thought it was in other countries. Now I realize their is so much of it right here in our own country.
I was enlisted for ~22 yrs and I do love this country. I've served numerous deployments and for what...? I don't seem to remember Iraq firing a shot at us before we smoked them into the very pit of hell. I don't trust the criminals running our counrty anymore that's all. I wish more civilians had been raising hell so that my brothers and I didn't have to lose part of out lives/souls in that part of the world :(
I was saying to my friend earlier today ,Imagen how it must feel to have enlisted in the u.s forces after 911 as say a young naive 16 yr old , to have been sent to war, and slowly over time come to realise that you are just a parasite stealing another countries resources, its such a shame when you see those young men and women over there, wasted lives all for Fat Cats and there Fat Fucking wallets.
I think you may be somewhat naive about the military. Most are noble people who join for the right reasons and are honorable. They obey orders under service like the police force of your town. In fact, civilians are just as much or more responsible for allowing politicains to direct military operations illegally against foreign countries. Many ignorant rage at the stick (military), not the "Fat Cats" and bullies.
Could U like organize another Black-OP mission? We sure could use some more jobs 'round here. Maybe you be gunin' down civies sitting behind tha' PC's too. Shut the hell up...I was one of the GI's sitting in a tent in the Middle East when 911 went down. Maybe you should shut your mouth and open your eyes...
Don't worry this i am sure this guy will find some nice realistate in side satans colon in the after life when he dies..which I hope comes very slow and very painfull.
Good video. In summery, the president and vice are using the powers of veto to stuff their pockets till the very end. America is in debt to China for trillions and the 'Security and Prosperity Partnership' with Canada and Mexico have been sucked in as collateral to the debt just to buy time while the rest of the world moves to the Euro.
1. Name a blockbuster film thats lost money. 2. Since a movie and Iraq are actually two completely different things, that's really not a good comparison and should probably be dismissed.
3. There is still chaos in Iraq and many are saying that no progress is happening in Iraq. Haliburton's people are constantly getting kidnapped and people are continually being blown up. Oh yeah, but we're in it for the money and oil.... right.... gas prices at an all time high and haliburton hasn't gotten anything done and is losing money.
1. Jackson not renewing for The Hobbit for a lesser version of the kind of BS studios pull on other directors/teams.
2. It does compare, saying you are losing money doesn't mean you aren't benefiting from the income massively. My own last company lost money many years and I still took home 6 figures.
3. What does any of that have to do with profiteering? Those failures make claims of profiteering even more serious.
Where is the profiteering? OK... ur killin me here... We've established that haliburton is losing money in Iraq... so they aren't profiteering. The U.S. government certainly is't making money off of Iraq so they aren't profiteering. Terrorists constantly attack the oil fields and burn them so you know the oil companies aren't profiteering in Iraq. So where is it Davinc? Is anyone really profitting from the Iraq situation? At all?
We haven't established anything. My point is saying your are losing money is very different from ACTUALLY losing money. They can burn all the oil fields they want, that doesn't affect anyones profits. I ran a company that was posting losses while I was taking home 6 figures.
If you understand business you know what I mean. If you don't sorry, but utube doesn't allow long enough posts to give you your MBA.
o ok. so lets say I have an oil business and i use oil fields in Iraq to make my money... hmm... their on fire now. Oh well, according to Davinc we're still making lots of money! Burning our oil fields won't effect profit! I'm sure when you have a business that is failing the ceo's will always have the money in their pocket but that's not really the case for halibuton. They have thousands of other project outside of the U.S. Don't you understand?
The oil fields don't make them their money. Us buying their gas does. If they had paid a lot of money for the RIGHTS to use those wells and then they don't produce, THEN they would be losing money. You seem to think that prices stay fixed regardless of demand. Please go study economics before continuing this debate.
Go check oil stocks and other stocks in question, and CHECK CEO AND EXECUTIVE PAY.
The people higher up in Haliburton are getting their money from all of their other projects. If their whole company was only in Iraq sure, they could making money for a while but once the company runs out their all out of business. So really there is no profit coming out of Iraq. But I guess your MBA didnt tell you that...
They are getting massive amounts of cash over and under the table for what they are doing in Iraq. If it wasn't profitable THEY WOULDN'T BE THERE. Saying it's not profitable and actually being a money sink are two different things.
all empires are built on war and theft, and all empires eventually fall. just keep that in mind when the same thing happens to China and India that happened to Rome, Spain, France, England, USSR and the USA. China and India will match and eclipse the USA economically but never militarily, THAT is the real reason of the war, to establish ABSOLUTE military dominance worldwide, and to control the oilfields
I am ashamed to say I am a liberal when I see this kind of mindless drivel... Do some homework on when Halliburton received the governemnt contract to work in that region... I'll give you a clue: it was before Cheney, Bush Jr, Sept 11 and the war against terrorism. I'l give you another clue: oil well fires... Also, do you even know what KBR is?? Or that KBR and Hal are not even together anymore... Foolish... you sound like you are 12 years old though, so I wouldn't expect you to have a clue.
4andrebass0 I'm not sure what the motive was behind that post of yours. Perhaps a liberal agenda, a conservative agenda, a corporate PR agenda, whatever. To give the impression there has only been one government contract with Halliburton to work in Iraq, and that Halliburton and KBR are already separate (Hal still owns 81 percent of KBR), seems to me either deliberate misinformation or plain ignorance.
It was WHILE CHENEY WAS CEO, WITH PREVIOUS CONNCECTIONS FROM HIS EARLIER WASHINGTON DAYS!!! ADDITIONALLY, THEY GOT A FREAKING MULTI BILLION DOLLAR NO BID CONTRACT. THIS IS AMERICA! YOU DON'T GET MULTI BILLION DOLLAR NO BID CONTRACTS!
HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE, HAS TO DO WITH RIPPING OF THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
IF YOU CAN'T SEE THAT YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE "FREE".
With a "Cost plus" contract for Halliburton's efforts in Iraq, it is a win win situation...the more they spend in Iraq, the bigger the profit. I doubt there existed another like. Furthermore, to whom did Cheney sell (under pressure caused by concerns of conflict of interests) his Halliburton stocks to? To his children no doubt!
Kiss my American Ass! Euro trash, just because your countries have become irrelevant the last 30 yrs., with unemployment around 20% (USA 4.2) don't have sour grapes. We'll still come save your asses when your pansie liberal asses come crying, like we did in WW1, WW2, against the Commies, etc. Hell, maybe we'll even loan the French a few of our Fire Engines. Now excuse me while I go drive my SUV around the block with $2.00 gas. (That's per Gallon, Heinz)
We should free the Americans from theire leader. So maybe they can free theire mind again and start thinking again. something like, Mission US Freedom.
And the rest of the world had better realize that the fight against the neo-con regime in the US is their fight as well, because what happens in the US affects the rest of the world. For example, if the FBI or CIA asks another police force to arrest someone for them, they usually comply, even if it violates their own local laws. And if the US FDA approves a drug or food additive, like in the case of aspertame, the rest of the world goes along without doing their own research.
Is it any wonder you Americans are despised the world over? "The liberation of Iraq" - what a joke that is. Latest report (see English "Guardian" newspaper) has torture as worse now than under Hussein. Nice work America. Stand proud.
greyskymorning ... seems like you know a lot, list other companies that compete with Halliburton as well as how Halliburton has proven to be incompetent.
George W. Bush claimed the most powerful office in the world by blocking a court-ordered recount of votes in Florida that would have elected Al Gore President of the United States. Bush lost not only the national popular vote by more than a half million ballots, but he would have lost the key state of Florida if Florida's authorities had been allowed to count the votes that met the state's legal requirement of demonstrating the clear intent of the voter.
Well said. No doubt Halliburton has the size and organization no other American company has. Why can't they just offer their services at an honest price instead of being absurdly greedy? Their profit is guaranteed in the contract no matter what they do.
I've heard the accusations that Halliburton has hidden money, or stolen money. I just didn't automatically believe it.
"the infrastructure in Iraq is worse off than when Dubya declared "mission accomplished.""
As I don't believe that. There are many contractors and companies and soldiers rebuilding infrastructure in Iraq. Are you telling me that in three years, their work is being destroyed faster than they're building it?
Okay, seeing as this talk has been about Halliburton, and seeing as I do read the news, I have not heard of Halliburton being convicted of stealing money.
Is there an instance where Halliburton was legally charged with fraud, or convicted of fraud?
Halliburton is evil. Why? Because they've been stealing. How do I know this? Because they've been accused of stealing. But how do I know that's true? Well, the accusations have to be true because Halliburton is evil. I know that because they steal. I know that they steal because they block investigations. I know they block oversight because they're evil.
I know. People that throw accusations like this keep talking, but without any proof or evidence. Just accusation after accusation. "Cheney is blocking the investigation." Oh. Sure. Right. And the Illuminati have collabarated with aliens to get Halliburton more no-bid contracts. Proof? Why would I need proof?
I thought you would be smart enough to google: Halliburton fraud without my having to spell it out for you. Halliburton used a fake cover company in the Caymans to hide it's illegal trade with Iran.
Well, I wouldn't call that "fraud." It may be immoral. It may be illegal (though news stories seem to agree that it's "barely legal.")
But if you want to just start talking about shady practices of businesses, then we'll end up talking about every business on the planet. Halliburton seems to have a pretty good track record for a company of its magnitude.
What's wrong with your picture is that there are hundreds of companies involved in the rebuilding of Lebanon, I'm sure some you think are great. But you have Haliburton on the brain so bad, you think only one company is going to do the work.
Oh,another thing stkchr, I served my country in the 1980's and it makes me sick that Cheney and Bush can lie and send thousands of american soldiers to their deaths for what? They admit there were no weapons of mass destruction, they admit now that Saddam had no ties to the terrorists. So tell me, stkchr, WHY ARE AMERICAN SOLDIERS DYING IN IRAQ? And while you are at it,tell me why Bush didn't finish the job and get Bin Laden when he had the chance before he started the Iraq war? MORON!
All he had to do was ask his good friends, the Bin Ladins, where Osama is. At least he's loyal to his friends--he protected them from being questioned by the FBI. Too bad he has no loyalty to the American people.
I noticed a comment where you supported the 911 conspiracy theory. You know, the one where Bush was involved in the attacks. I'm starting to understand how you could make statements like "[Bush's] good friends, the Bin Ladens." Nevermind that they're not "good friends." Nevermind that the Bin Ladens don't know where Osama is. What's important is proving that Bush is a megalomaniacal fascist meatbag of pure evil. Isn't that what you're trying to prove? Or do I exaggerate?
No sloppy - if you pay someone an EXORBITANT amount and they don't deliver, or deliver a poor service, and they are offered no-bid contracts, THEN they're a war-profiteer, which Halliburton is. Please check your facts prior to speaking. We all thank you in advance.
I'm really getting sick of this. It seems that I can never enter a discussion where every time I DISAGREE with someone, they say "Well, you must have not read (insert news story)" Just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I'm an ignorant fool.
Again, I've read about allegations of overcharging, underdelivering, and so on. Allegations do not equal proof. You apparently believe Halliburton has underdelivered and undercharged. But all you offer are allegations.
Read Bush's speech to the AEI on Feb 26, 2003. This was prior to the war. If you still believe the reason for the war was based on lies, then you are simply uninformed, and chose to be so. 26 million Iraqis are trying to choose a better life, but people with a murderous ideology are killing them. We are not killing them; we are defending them. Let's face it, The United States is the only nation that stands up for liberty in this world.
I agree, Bush and Cheney need to be impeached. If Clinton can be impeached for lying about getting a blow job then Bush can be ipeach for lying about weapons in Iraq and the deaths of thousands of people behind that lie. All Clinton's lie killed were some sperm.
moron clinton was never impeached, get your facts straight which obviously you can't, Clinton should have been impeached for not takeing Bin laden when he had the chance.
OK smart guy, let me clarify, TRIED to impeach Clinton for lying. Is that ok now, MORON? You are obviously one of those fanatical Republicans that believes everything that comes out of Bush and Cheney's mouths.
yeah thats funny but it's not like peacetime would be any different... defense companies are real innovators in technology, they just work on the most high end stuff which happens to be weaponized.
Americans need a war every 20 years or so, to justify their huge military expenditure.
War always benefits a few at the expense of the many. The casualties (they don't send rich kids to war) aren't really important, whats important is that the rich get richer.
It's the way it works, so if you aren't going to anything about it - stop complaining and salute the flag.
Money can be made very easily by anyone prepared too. It is exactly like mugging an old lady. People will do, and believe, just about anything you tell them if they're confused and scared enough. You just need to get rid of your sense of human decency, your conscience, and of course, Compassion.
I'm always amazed how a large prtion of the populations thinks you have to be a crook to make money. The bottom line is, the richest people are those who provide a superior service or product to people at a valuable price. Pretty simple.
It's shame you have to lie, cheat and steal to do that...I know a lot of very wealthy people...don't you wish it wasn't so, SLOWboat? Sort of taints your pride, doesn't it?
My message was in reference to War Profiteering, and you would be surprised at how out dated that philosophy of "those who provide a superior service or product to people at a valuable price." is, I mean look at iTunes. That's a lesser product, with poorer service and value for money, but by squashing the meek, kazzar is dead and they rule. Its about power over people now.
ooh - the Michael Moore card!! I guess you win the argument here, Turbenator. That evil, fat assed baby eating Hollywood pussy liberal, Michael Moore. Curse him and his his good looks!!
Intresting take on it. So prehaps you can explain how Halliburton while being run by Cheney was allowed do business with Iran and only stopped, what a year ago because the media found out. Can't wait to see how you spin that one.
The real crime with Haliburton is the number of their employees that have been killed working in war zones - it's safer to be in the military. You guys have "Cheney" on the brain so bad that it blinds you from real stories and events.
I'm not spinning anything, just stating fact. I've never understood how Cheney gets tied to Haliburton when in fact it's a company started by the Democratic machine. I'm sure the company had business with Iran long before Cheney got there - maybe you should ask, how come the media just started looking into this when Cheney became VP?
Just another fact, no "spin". Hundreds of companies operate from off-shore locations, like Bermuda, look it up. You make it sound like Haliburton was the first. Can you comprehend facts and not call it spin?
Not to screw your brain up too much, but... when Haliburton was doing business with Iran, the CEO was David Lesar. Funny thing... the French to a lot of business with Iran. Wasn't it John Kerry who said we need to consult with the French on international matters? If you are so concerned about companies doing business with Iran I would think you have grave concerns about the John Kerry's of the world.
Brown and Root was founded in Texas in 1919. Following the death of Herman Brown, Halliburton acquired Brown & Root in December 1962. The company became part of a consortium that built about 85% of the infrastructure needed by the Army during the Vietnam War (and LBJ had nothing to do with it --- ha, ha hardy har har).

First step: abolish all lobbyists.

ArmyRanger10 4 years ago
Saddam is dead. Didn't the war end after Hitler killed himself and V-E day happened?
Is it ok to go to someone else's country and force them to change all they've known? What if China came here and forced us to adopt their cultural views, wouldn't you take up arms against the invader? Put yourselves in their shoes first.
eboundee 4 years ago 30
The was small German resistance after the war. So your saying genocide is perfectly fine? What about the Kurds how do you think they felt when Saddam came in and droped gas and shot survivors. We never forced Iraqis to our culture. We are there to remove a dictator who kills his people and setup a free government. Yes if China attacked us I would be fighting back. Think about this if we pulled out of Iraq think of all the lifes wasted, all the disabled soldiers. The country would destroy itself.
ArmyRanger10 4 years ago
The dictator is removed, in fact dead. We did our job and should be out. If we don't pull out of Iraq, think of how many more lives and money will be wasted. I support our troops 100%, what I don't support is the way they are being manipulated. Give the people back their land and they will rebuild. It's already happening in some of the outskirts of Baghdad with tremendous success. All these people want are us out of their country.
eboundee 4 years ago 5
Well theres more to it than that. I support our troops to and want them out of harms way. We started it and now its a mess. If we pulled out now the Suni and the Shiites would be having a civil war. Basically whats going on is some want us out, some support us, terrorists are fighting us, and we are holding back a civil war. Until we can breakup the fighting between the two groups and establish a strong Iraqi military we are going to be in Iraq.
ArmyRanger10 4 years ago
@eboundee Exactly!!! Who do we think we are to take over a country and try to make them think and do as we do? I learned about Propaganda in school. Only thought it was in other countries. Now I realize their is so much of it right here in our own country.

I think you may be somewhat naive about the military. Most are noble people who join for the right reasons and are honorable. They obey orders under service like the police force of your town. In fact, civilians are just as much or more responsible for allowing politicains to direct military operations illegally against foreign countries. Many ignorant rage at the stick (military), not the "Fat Cats" and bullies.

another dishonest video. Haliburton is currently loosing money in Iraq
bandgeekmdo 4 years ago
Yeah, just like many blockbuster films 'lose money'. Amazingly the makers of the film take home millions.
How you report income <> what you are making.
Davinc 4 years ago
1. Name a blockbuster film thats lost money. 2. Since a movie and Iraq are actually two completely different things, that's really not a good comparison and should probably be dismissed.
bandgeekmdo 4 years ago
3. There is still chaos in Iraq and many are saying that no progress is happening in Iraq. Haliburton's people are constantly getting kidnapped and people are continually being blown up. Oh yeah, but we're in it for the money and oil.... right.... gas prices at an all time high and haliburton hasn't gotten anything done and is losing money.
you sir are misguided and mistaken.
bandgeekmdo 4 years ago
Davinc 4 years ago
Where is the profiteering? OK... ur killin me here... We've established that haliburton is losing money in Iraq... so they aren't profiteering. The U.S. government certainly is't making money off of Iraq so they aren't profiteering. Terrorists constantly attack the oil fields and burn them so you know the oil companies aren't profiteering in Iraq. So where is it Davinc? Is anyone really profitting from the Iraq situation? At all?
bandgeekmdo 4 years ago
We haven't established anything. My point is saying your are losing money is very different from ACTUALLY losing money. They can burn all the oil fields they want, that doesn't affect anyones profits. I ran a company that was posting losses while I was taking home 6 figures.
If you understand business you know what I mean. If you don't sorry, but utube doesn't allow long enough posts to give you your MBA.
Davinc 4 years ago
o ok. so lets say I have an oil business and i use oil fields in Iraq to make my money... hmm... their on fire now. Oh well, according to Davinc we're still making lots of money! Burning our oil fields won't effect profit! I'm sure when you have a business that is failing the ceo's will always have the money in their pocket but that's not really the case for halibuton. They have thousands of other project outside of the U.S. Don't you understand?
bandgeekmdo 4 years ago
The oil fields don't make them their money. Us buying their gas does. If they had paid a lot of money for the RIGHTS to use those wells and then they don't produce, THEN they would be losing money. You seem to think that prices stay fixed regardless of demand. Please go study economics before continuing this debate.
Go check oil stocks and other stocks in question, and CHECK CEO AND EXECUTIVE PAY.
Davinc 4 years ago
The people higher up in Haliburton are getting their money from all of their other projects. If their whole company was only in Iraq sure, they could making money for a while but once the company runs out their all out of business. So really there is no profit coming out of Iraq. But I guess your MBA didnt tell you that...
bandgeekmdo 4 years ago
They are getting massive amounts of cash over and under the table for what they are doing in Iraq. If it wasn't profitable THEY WOULDN'T BE THERE. Saying it's not profitable and actually being a money sink are two different things.

4andrebass0 I'm not sure what the motive was behind that post of yours. Perhaps a liberal agenda, a conservative agenda, a corporate PR agenda, whatever.

We don't hate corporations. We hate corporations that are greedy and rip-off the taxpayer for billions. Don't you hate people who rip you off?
EchelonMonitor 5 years ago
Cause and effect.
It's not that the corporation stole money, and the effect is that you hate the corporation.
It's that you hate the corporation, and the effect is you believe that the company stole money.
Otherwise, you wouldn't assert that they ripped taxpayers for billions, when that has not been proven.
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago
Don't bother commenting on the issues if you can't even be bothered to read the news.
EchelonMonitor 5 years ago
Okay, seeing as this talk has been about Halliburton, and seeing as I do read the news, I have not heard of Halliburton being convicted of stealing money.
Is there an instance where Halliburton was legally charged with fraud, or convicted of fraud?
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago
cheney is blocking the investigations and there are many of them
fbosch 5 years ago
This is what is commonly called "paranoia."
Halliburton is evil. Why? Because they've been stealing. How do I know this? Because they've been accused of stealing. But how do I know that's true? Well, the accusations have to be true because Halliburton is evil. I know that because they steal. I know that they steal because they block investigations. I know they block oversight because they're evil.
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago
Thanks for saying absolutely nothing!!!
fbosch 5 years ago
I know. People that throw accusations like this keep talking, but without any proof or evidence. Just accusation after accusation. "Cheney is blocking the investigation." Oh. Sure. Right. And the Illuminati have collabarated with aliens to get Halliburton more no-bid contracts. Proof? Why would I need proof?
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago
I thought you would be smart enough to google: Halliburton fraud without my having to spell it out for you. Halliburton used a fake cover company in the Caymans to hide it's illegal trade with Iran.
EchelonMonitor 5 years ago
Well, I wouldn't call that "fraud." It may be immoral. It may be illegal (though news stories seem to agree that it's "barely legal.")
But if you want to just start talking about shady practices of businesses, then we'll end up talking about every business on the planet. Halliburton seems to have a pretty good track record for a company of its magnitude.
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago
There's always oversight. Otherwise you wouldn't say they were "caught."
But some people hate companies, so they throw accusations all over the place. Some other people hate companies, so they believe the accusations.
As for myself, I don't assume that Halliburton is evil and is cheating and stealing. I wait. Others simply assume that the accused is guilty.
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago

"They admit there were no weapons of mass destruction"
No, just not in the quantities they expected.
"they admit now that Saddam had no ties to the terrorists."
Saddam was a terrorist, and had ties to terrorists. But you said "the terrorists."
"WHY ARE AMERICAN SOLDIERS DYING IN IRAQ?"
To protect America and its allies, and the people of Iraq.
"why Bush didn't finish the job and get Bin Laden"
No one knows where he is. If you know, maybe you should claim the reward.
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago
All he had to do was ask his good friends, the Bin Ladins, where Osama is. At least he's loyal to his friends--he protected them from being questioned by the FBI. Too bad he has no loyalty to the American people.
EchelonMonitor 5 years ago
I noticed a comment where you supported the 911 conspiracy theory. You know, the one where Bush was involved in the attacks. I'm starting to understand how you could make statements like "[Bush's] good friends, the Bin Ladens." Nevermind that they're not "good friends." Nevermind that the Bin Ladens don't know where Osama is. What's important is proving that Bush is a megalomaniacal fascist meatbag of pure evil. Isn't that what you're trying to prove? Or do I exaggerate?
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago
So, no one should work in Iraq, and rebuild stuff.
We should fix it all, and get all the utilities working, and rebuild infrastructure, but without using companies or workers.
Because if you pay someone to fix stuff, they're a profiteer.
sloppyjoes7 5 years ago
No sloppy - if you pay someone an EXORBITANT amount and they don't deliver, or deliver a poor service, and they are offered no-bid contracts, THEN they're a war-profiteer, which Halliburton is. Please check your facts prior to speaking. We all thank you in advance.

Read Bush's speech to the AEI on Feb 26, 2003. This was prior to the war.

The real crime with Haliburton is the number of their employees that have been killed working in war zones - it's safer to be in the military. You guys have "Cheney" on the brain so bad that it blinds you from real stories and events.
SwiftBoat 5 years ago
I'm not spinning anything, just stating fact. I've never understood how Cheney gets tied to Haliburton when in fact it's a company started by the Democratic machine. I'm sure the company had business with Iran long before Cheney got there - maybe you should ask, how come the media just started looking into this when Cheney became VP?
SwiftBoat 5 years ago
Just another fact, no "spin". Hundreds of companies operate from off-shore locations, like Bermuda, look it up. You make it sound like Haliburton was the first. Can you comprehend facts and not call it spin?
SwiftBoat 5 years ago
How many companies in Bermuda have an ex CEO high up in the US Government and are getting no-bid contracts?
hobbesie 5 years ago
Not to screw your brain up too much, but... when Haliburton was doing business with Iran, the CEO was David Lesar. Funny thing... the French to a lot of business with Iran. Wasn't it John Kerry who said we need to consult with the French on international matters? If you are so concerned about companies doing business with Iran I would think you have grave concerns about the John Kerry's of the world.
