i'm plannig to buy one su700, could you please tell me if you can slice and then assign slices to the pads in order to resample them? and could you assign ROLL to the ribbon just to make some rolled snare d'n'b style like with kaoss pad and record them?
@0e0 thanx man, after 3 years i almost tried every samplers on earth (sp202/303/404/505/606, mpc500/1000, es1/esx, remix16, su10, asrx, and kaoss pad series) ahah. thanx howerver. but what about the Roll? is it assignable to the ribbon?
@yohppoy no...once you engage the roll mode you can change the rate of roll (quantised to tempo) from the big black dial. what did you think of the sp505?
the sp505 is one of the best of the sp series, is the most complete as standalone (while the sp606 is great used in couple with pc -is also a soundcard, you can sample directly from there, think about pioneeristic version of maschine and now mpc reinassance-); the worst lack of all sps is the real pitch (they use a pitch fx) but sp505 use a sort of useful pitch algorythm. other than that sp 505/606 sequencer is ok (don't think at the most complex mpc wich is great)..

@yohppoy you can copy samples to different pads and chop them by change the start and end times..which is actually really fast.
