Thanks for this nice little vid. As a decades-busy professional artist who can draw like lighting in the traditional way, I'm not happy with drawing like this, but Needs Must. Your tutorial is very clear for GIMP, a program I always recommend to so many artists.
This video, as simple as it, helps so much more than support documentation. Like programming and using computers in general you can learn so much more from watching and imitating more proficient users.
Dude! i'm like low to intermediate, cause I teach myself how to do stuff (most of the time trying not to annoy people with questions I can answer myself.) But you showed me right off the bat stuff that had foiled me! Thanks bro
(for instance, how to close the path!!!! I couldn't find that on the Gimp help page!)
Boring!? What are you talking abvout. One you voice is very cool. And two this really helps. I just got gimp recently and I neeed to learn more about it.
That was a really helpful tutorial. I knew some things about the path tool, but not all the really handy tricks. Finally not someone who draws something simple and just brags about it on the internet, without giving any (useful) tips.
How do I move anchor points independently? My problem is when I want to draw a curved line with paths sometimes I want to move one anchor point closer to the other but when I try to move one it moves both of them. I can move them independently until I curve the path then they both move together.
I've taken a class in photoshop and illustraitor, but i'd like to learn more about how to make good vector art for comics and pictures. can i still do the same kind of things as the guy in the video?
yes i too when i stroke the path it doesnt look like its drawn over the path i made...any ideas? i have it set at 3 px and it i cant see any dark lines painted over the path i created
when i stroke the path it doesnt look like its drawn over the path i made...any ideas? i have it set at 3 px and it i cant see any dark lines painted over the path i created
Does any one no how to get the brush resizing tool bk... i clicked somethng by accident and now when i click on paintbrush the brush comes in one size I want to resize it bigger. I dont see the dialogue please help xx
Thanks for this, I am new to GIMP and any type of graphic editing, just trying to play around and decide if I want to go further, this was extremely helpful in getting me started.
you don't explain how you're doing it. You got to remember boring as it is, you are dealing with a bunch of blank pages that need mundane reinforcement. explain it step by step all the time and us retards will catch on. Thanks.
I did it along with the video and then went back and did it on my own. This was great except for the part where I needed to connect the path at the end. When I hovered over it and control clicked, then was I supposed to click on the open point? I didn't get that and had a hard time getting the final point connected, but other than that, it was a very good video. I give it a 5.
Excellent tutorial mate, it maybe on the basic side but that is just what i need at the moment. Off to practice some paths now ....... thanks again for taking the time to post!
Thank you very much, i had never used gimp 3 das ago and now i can use layers, paths, vectors and so on. Best gimp tutorial on the internet, have recomended to lots of friends :-)
How in the world can i select an object again, i made i am new to this but i dont want to leave yet. can you tell me how to get something selected. i made a ellipse, but when i select something else i am not able to select that ellipse again, it making me crazy, i cant find a tool to select a particular object
This tutorial is great! I didn't find it boring at all. I've been wondering how to use this tool for a while, and now I can finally start to understand! Thank you very much!
I love your gimp tutorial series. You hit a good balance between short length and enough detail. I really appreciate it that you go step by step through the menus so a beginner can follow. But no one tutorial is so long that a person gets lost or bored. Please keep the series going.
Thank You for this tutorial for beginners like myself who have no clue on how to use
