All a matter of opinion. According to the criterion collection (which is a collection of classics from Fellini and Bergman to Woo and gilliam), Wes Anderson has made some classics. And I agree. I have a feeling you take a dump on everything.
A great Stones song. One of their underrated gems. I remember seeing this movie in the theater and being very excited to hear this song. It's from the Aftermath album.
all you fucking queers are losers. i just wanna hear the song, not fucking buses and the sounds of a gay indie film. Thanks for keeping this video up, fuckheads
its a great and very special movie. i knew this song before, but i always skipped it when i listened to a stones cd. since i ve seen the movie its my favourite stones song
In doing so, he rejects the possibility of a new, possibly enriching friendship due to emotional wounds he can't overcome. I love how the scene illustrates this; it's powerfully bittersweet.
Great insight, Danskoe. I just watched the movie for the second time, and actually liked it more. I cried bittersweet tears, and I NEVER cry. I'm also a huge Stones fan and never heard this song.
i get what you mean! i hate it in movies when they only play like 30 seconds of a great song so just as you're getting into it it ends...or like in Watchmen with the totally random use of 99 Red Balloons...seriously, i know that was a crap movie, but even still, wtf was that?
Margaret Yang is my Rushmore! So cute and charming.. I love the part where she calls out Max for being a jerk to her. If you're out there.. I am waiting!
Huh. I really loved this scene. Another song I loved that Wes used in The Royal Tenenbaums was "Needle In The Hay" by Elliot Smith. It was greatly used there too.
lol I love how Max just steps on the random grave

I like the dynamics of the song -- it's sort of quiet and soft but then cuts loose with a lot of energy in the bridge.

This is good but not a classic. Wes
Anderson hasn't made one yet.
The Stones have done better but this
song isn't horrible.

No one, aside from maybe Scorsese, combines music and images as well as Wes Anderson does.

No, Anderson does better.
nativelad 2 years ago
Well that's kind of what I said. But Scorsese is really close, the way he uses music in the movie "Mean Streets" is amazing.

Probably when Btian Jones was still alive. This song has all his influence all over it. They never wrote songs like this post-Jones.
