  • great vid, can u post more vids like these its really helped a lot! thanks

  • i agree with the comment from a mobile dj perspective..most of the time, mobile djs play weddings, birthdays, bar/batmitzvahs, school dances..where 98 percent or better of the music is chart stuff or oldies that once were chart stuff that was on the radio..and not particularly the electronic music charts. My tastes personally aren't what i get to spin most of the time..i'm sure it's that way for all mobile djs. and besides mobile gigs pay better than the average club gig.

  • where do you find the Dj prime remix of single ladies?

  • Hey brian I was wondering if you could possibly do a review of Numark DDS-80 Cd and Media Player..

  • ye fair point. he dosent state weather he is a mobile dj or club dj or whatever. but personally i just cant stand commercial radio music.,,,all i see is songs trying to make money and no heart. however there are some good songs..

  • Comment removed

  • not being harsh but man u have a brutal taste in music. half the songs u listed were commercial thrash...good.DJs play good qualtiy dance music!

  • To be honest bermo1406 i agree with you,but think about it as a mobile Dj you are usually doing gigs like weddings or birthdays So you usually have to play popular or chart music because thats mostly what people want to hear. And that might not be his own personal taste in music but its what is the most popular at the moment, because at the end of the day if you go to a mobile gig and start playing pure non-stop dance music, the guests will probably not Know any of the songs you are playing.

  • Great list, almost mine verbatim, it's true some songs have a much longer shelf life than others, Low and In the Ayer are still fresh.

I like the retro throw in, mine lately has been "Waiting for tonight" by J. Lopez.

It seems to me any early 80's hip hop classics like Run DMC or a Beastie Boys track will get people hopping, it has the beat they crave I guess, them and some Grandmaster Flash even.

  • "Been doing youtube videos for about 30 years?" :P

  • I said 3, but yeah it does sound funny.

    "About Th-ere years"

  • Brian, where have you been hiding, AWESOME. We need one of these every month. Great for a new DJ or even one that just needs more tunes. DON't STOP THESE KINDS OF VIDEOS. Again GREAT

  • nice i like these vids keep them commin!

  • yeah these are all in my "hot" folder

    lol

  • nvm just saw the end lol

  • where you get the single ladies remix from?

  • Ive got that entire list and probably played all of them at my last event friday! good recommendations, although i feel some of them are on their way out. The one that really surprised me was "Party in the USA" by miley cyrus... i knew it was popular, but even with a very diverse audience there was an enormous response

  • Thanks for the list of tunes.

I am not exposed to new music in my world and I appreciate the input.

You have my dream job and I dig your toys.

  • Hey Brain, love the Katy Perry track! :-)

  • Hey Brian,

Listening to you made me think, you could be one of those voice over guys.

  • I should put an intro like this on my website

    Good idea

But I think it should have been more obvious to me :)

    Thanks

  • I like this. We should get a thread going on this.

  • aw man, that's pretty shitty list, I understand that in weddings and stuff it goes very well, but still, I wouldn't call it hot, cause as far as I know, people still love good ol Eurodance :D

  • Well then, guess you are either playing to a very different crowd or you are WAY out of touch with what people really want.

  • well, you're from USA, people listen to all kinds of crap there (florida and stuff), I'm from Europe, and people, especially in their late 30s-early 40s, mostly listen old stuff. Political situation where I live back in 80s-90s was pretty bad, so people danced the shit off themselves, and nostalgia is what makes a good party even better with 80s music. (modern talking lol)

  • Great vid Brian! short and sweet!

  • Here's where I have to throw in my 2 cents. When doing video's like this for promo's etc. It's important to state that these songs are ones that work well at certain receptions. And as the DJ we have many others that we can tailor to your reception and guests tastes. Otherwise it may seem like it's the DJ's favorite songs. Just a suggestion.

    ~DJ Bo~

  • Trouble is, you are assuming everyone is stupid. I try not to assume that, but yeah some people are stupid and don't get it.

    You can't help everyone, though.

If they don't have the reasoning or brain capacity to understand what I'm talking about in this video, they probably don't have any business being a Mobile DJ anyway.

  • And I did say that sets like this work for about 75% of the wedding receptions I do. I didn't say I insist on playing these for everyone..

AND this is NOT a promo video for brides and grooms. It's a quick vid for DJs sharing what I've found works well at my recent gigs.

  • Don't be a smart ass Brian. I think you understand exactly what I ment. Whether this is a promo video for DJ's, Clients or even a video resume.

    ~Bo~

  • Smart ass??

I'm dead serious. These are videos FOR DJs.

This is a NOT a list of standards. They are a list of HOT TRACKS ,meaning the hot dance songs I'm playing, exept for the retro track I noted.

I do say they are my favorite, but in the context that they get the best response from the crowd, late in the evening, as I also noted.

This is NOT a "Promo Video". This is a SAMPLE VIDEO for DJs who need to watch thier times on vids. I said that in this vid as well.

  • My Youtube channel was never suppose to be a PROMO channel for brides & grooms... or even a channel to promote myself. It was, is and always has been a place for me to share what I have learned, offer help or advise to others which everyone viewing can either take or leave at thier discression

  • Ok, I apologize I must be confused.

  • Why you put all these titles in your video?

  • Quick, comprehensive and understandable.

    As always.

  • What is the website again?

    Nice video!

  • Why do I get the impression that people seem to be obsessed with underground tracks and mainstream = uncool?

Sorry peeps but if you're watching these videos because you have dreams on getting on the 'F**K me I'm famous' Ibiza tour then you're looking on the wrong channel.

However; if your aspirations are a bit more grounded and you're looking for some tips on how to keep Joe public on the dance floor I think you the right place.

Sorry if that sounds like a rant... it isn't.

    Nice vid Brian

  • HA! No dude, that's beautiful!

Could not have said it better myself!

  • wow.. top 40... booooo

  • Hey gotta play for your crowd, man.

There's more to life than House!

  • Exactly, we gotta play to what the crowd wants to hear. I good DJ will do that no matter what his/her personal musical tastes are.

  • nice video, plus the hot tracks website has helped me :)

    -=DJ Brad=-

  • great video.. see ya in oklahoma..lol

  • nice tracks, I didn't know the one of RUN DMC, I like it, be good!

  • thanks brian..
