hmmmm....didnt do a burn out to get the tires sticky, slow ass reaction time, definately not a quarter mile pass. and you said that was scarey...holy shyt what would do if you rode in my car.. ill bet youd scream like a little girl and poop yourself..when the fronts pull off the ground and all you can see is sky..I still love the styling and lines of the Ultima though.
@peppermann What parts did your bottom-end consist of? What stroke are you running with the crank? 7,300 is a walk in the park for a properly prepped engine. Just takes good (expensive) parts, and careful attention to detail during assembly.
yea im going to let you in on a little secret... not many people know this .. but if you spen your tires and get the sticky be for you run ... you will do way better
A good driver would do better :o) Also, I should have started off in second, that's the trick to running a low 10. NB The Factory chaps run consistent high 9s. Thanks for watching !
Great car and a fun build I bet. For the kit, engine complete, how much money does it cost?
I really like the new Corvettes and I may just get one of those. I can't see spending the extra money on a lambo or other. Bang for the buck, the corvette is a great choice in the 80 range.
Whole car was around £55k to build, including engine and box. All supplied through Ultima Sports. A lot of cash but nothing on the road can match an Ultima !
So sp319 I clearly was not literally calling peppermann retarded, but outlining his lack of following standard dragracing methods of warming and cleaning tyres to increase grip between track and tyre, hence alloing him to put more power to the ground therefore going faster and not nearly putting it into a wall.
Btw I like the way you call yourself "everyone".
I'm sorry but didn't get to see your timeslip sp319?
Hi ! The white car was a full blown nitro something or another. Think he clocked 7s at 200+ mph. Unfortunately won't be at Santa in X11GTR again - car now sold care of divorce ... :o( But will put down a deposit for a new kit later this year :o)
The track isnt wet. Its shiny from the traction compound they use. I dont see how a burnout would make the tyres wetter, the burnout should be big enough so that isnt an issue. The water is there to stop drivetrain lash and axle tramp, im sure you could improve a fair bit on your time with one, even with normal street tyres
For the record, I got two opinions from the marshalls. One said that there was no point doing a burnout through the water as this would wet my tyres a little (losing grip) and they were clean after the first runs. The second said to always do one. I guess you and the second guy were right ...

@keeevan Hi there ! You mean a rotary engine ? I've never seen one of those, would be a first for a GTR. Nice idea though ! Regards

@peppermann what did it run? what do you have the rev limit set at?
Bret3030 1 year ago
@Bret3030 7,300 rpm. But blew up the engine a week later, think that it was too much for the SBC V8. Great fun though ! Cheers

mad at how you didn't light em up first to get a better time. and how you launched on such a low rpm. but no worries.

wtfusaypunk 2 years ago
Spinning your tires before the race only makes it better if you have drag radials or slicks, it ruins street tires and makes them have less traction.
RawbIsFtw 1 year ago
@RawbIsFtw not sure what gives you that theory. but heat is heat bro .... but i shouldnt have to tell you that
wtfusaypunk 1 year ago
@RawbIsFtw Spinning your tires ruins them no matter what kind they are.. but only a little.
The whole point is you're burning a little bit of the rubber to heat up the tires, because hot rubber is more grippy than cold rubber..

I guess you were on street tires? even though the rear tire is 335 or 355 it would do a lot better on slicks
Amazing car, by far the best power and fun for you're money

IMO you're pretty retarded not to do a burnout to warm up the rears especially being a wet track!
However.
Very nice car.
