@47antony in fact, in the late 70s (when she started her career) the audience was pretty open to this sort of more artistic, expressive pop music.

I was a child in those days and still remember her much acclaimed TV appearances like the one at "Bios Bahnhof", a talk show on German telly. This innocent and sober girl, just 20 years old, made the whole crowd stare at her dead silent, with open mouths, stunned in face of all this talent and beauty of performance, lyrics and melody.

But in this sense of artistic reputation and admiration, she absolutely *did* receive the credit she deserves.
