  • Thank goodness for this video, it helped me sooooo much... despite her boring voice...

  • Midterms -______-

  • Angle Side Side (ASS)

  • if only that was one of them

  • fuck studing for a spanish test, history, and geometry

  • can we consider the part D as Angle Side Side (ASS) ?

can you post about the theorems ;)

  • i wish ASS was a postulate

  • @Zero6sixes666 hahahaha :)

  • someone respond to that question plz..

  • why are there two lines on one side of the triangle and only one line on the other side of the triangle??

  • @AngelRestivo because the 2 sides with only one line are congruent to each other, and the 2 sides with two lines are congruent to each other:)

  • @xX7xKristen8Xx4x ohh i see, thanks!

  • @xX7xKristen8Xx4x oh thanks!

  • @AngelRestivo oops lol sry i forgot i responded to it already XP

  • why can't my crazy geometry teacher be like you?

  • She's wrong on the last one, it is congruent by Hypotenuse leg. Nobody gets this crap!

  • @TheFlamingDoh2 it's not right triangle so you can't use that.

  • @R3dN3cK810 crap. Thanks anyway.

  • I fucking hate my math teacher. She should be ashamed I'm on youtube trying to learn this crap!!

  • @xoyazzyox amen

  • i already understand this i just love her teaching so much so i watched it again

  • EmmaLily007:

two sides and an angle are not enough, they have to be adjacent, you can not skip them.

    Hope It's clear.

  • Wait, isn't SSA a postulate? I can sware I saw that on brightmath.

  • @Dragonlady842 brightmath or brightstorm? :)

  • But d has 2 sides the same and an angle, so wouldn't it be SAS?:( I dont get it :(

  • Neatest handwriting ever she should write the bible.

  • my math teacher has a beard

  • Thanks for the video, it really helped. :)

  • This saved my life. Thank you!

  • Is she using a teleprompter?

  • i fell asleep listening to her....

  • That smile of hers is unreal.

  • SSA can only be used to prove that two right triangles are congruent.

  • She smiles 3:32

  • figure D: if SSA is congruent to SSA, wouldn't the unmarked sides have to be congrurent - making SSA a valid postulate?

  • You showed S-S-S, S-A-S, A-S-A. What about R-H-S (Right angle - Hypotenuse - Side) and A-A-S (Angle - Angle - Side)? When there are two right angle triangles and both of their hypotenuse and any other one side is congruent, then the triangles are congruent. This is R-H-S. And when there are two triangle, both of their any two angles are congruent and the opposite sides of any one of those congruent angles are congruent, then the triangles are congruent. This is A-A-S.

  • Omg omg omg!! Thanks... I watched for 30 seconds... And bam wow i got it... Thanks lady sooo much!! (;

  • her smile creeps me out but i actually learned from her. youtube teaches me better than actual school. T_T

  • It makes 0 sense to me, my exams monday and my teacher never taught me :(

  • @Kbanasko How'd the exam go?

  • made it seem so easy..

  • booooooring

  • Her voice is so boring ^^

  • More help on Year 10 similar and congruent triangle Please!!!!!

  • there is no ASS in math CLASS

  • Press 4 rapidly :p

  • @MrFlyTheDragon hahahaahhahaha

  • i understood it so much clearer than the way my geometry teacher explained it ._.

  • explains it better dan my maths teacher

  • This is a true story. In 2010, a girl was awake in her room late one summer night. She then heard a voice whispering "SOH CAH TOA" over and over. And then she was attacked by triangles. Now that you've read this, the triangles will come for you. If you pass it on, the squares will protect you.

  • @100xines you wouldn't know how to approach the situation...your sexually ignorant.

  • if you say congruent one more time i swear...

  • how much more akward can she be?

  • I recommend this excellent Math channel: ( Mathmatchpoint ) to everyone who wants to become good at Math. He is going to teach you Math the EASY WAY, from the basic to the advanced topics. The great thing is that his videos are categorized within playlists. It is easy to know which video to watch next. This was the least I could do for him (let others know about his videos). Thanks to him, I got 97% on my Math test.

    Go to his channel: Mathmatchpoint

Math will become easy to understand

  • Not bad, but I'd ditch Lady Aspergers and get a dude dressed like the Predator from Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Their HUDs are always spitting out triangles.

  • Her smile at the end made me shit bricks

  • @minchalop i bet you could play a chord from your asshole then huh?spectacular...

  • Where The Hell is RHS Congruence criterion ??????

  • Omg, thanks so much you made it look so easyy ;)

  • god damnit there needs to be a better way of finding the included angle without looking at the fucken picture, i understand that its whatever is in between the two but the retards at holt have pictures that look like a 1st grader with down syndrome drew it.

  • @baked4211 lol omg that was sooooooooooo not funny.yooooooouuuuuu suuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!!!!!!!

  • For the example c, if we have problems like that or set up in a similar way, is it always going to be SAS? It seems that way when I come across problems like those.

  • @fashionfuse21 your comment made me lol

  • how on planet earth is her handwriting so neat? on a white board???

  • @roshni62796 yeah you have point

  • Wow thank you My teacher never sead we cant use ssa and he never told me AA angle had to be between the lines thanks alot :D maybe now I wont fail my test.

  • wat happened to RHS congruence?

  • Boring as a fuck.

    But I get it now.

    Thank you boring bitch lady.

  • @Th4EvilH4nd all she did was help you bitch ahahahaha

  • This video and lesson is going to help me so much with my future life. I love proofs so much.

  • @jenheart15 wow who likes proofs ur a nerd

  • coooongruuueeentttttt cone-grue-enta, god damn!

  • this lady looks and sounds as if she is dead, just like all the math teachers iv ever had. ARE THEY ALL THE SAME???!!!!

  • ssa is HL

  • thanks bitch!this helped alot!

  • damn she looks so bored... wasn't even fun to pay attention to this hoe

  • The 2 triangles in (d) ARE congruent. It is shocking how confused this teacher is. She knows that SSA does not ALWAYS prove congruency but she doesn't realise that if you've actually drawn the darn things and you have SSA you can absolutely prove or disprove congruency. In her example, if they were not congruent one triangle would HAVE TO look very different from the other to fit SSA and not be congruent.

  • @harrisventura Not true! For example, a triangle with side lengths 6 cm and 5.1 cm with the included angle measuring 60 degrees would look VERY similar to the triangle with side lengths 6 cm and 5.3 cm with the same 60 degree angle, and yet they are not congruent! If you don't believe it, construct it. Aaaaawwww, you just got nerd-served, nerd!!

  • proving is important. we can use it in our daily lives!

  • i don't know what my problem is with proving...i just don't get the sense of it...but tnx for the vid...was a great help...God Bless!!!

  • i like fast forwarding to the answer and rewinding and then answering likes as if i knew already ;)))) =D

    8=D ----dead rotting corpsexxxx

    myspace addddd

  • do proofs even have a point besides to stump innocent highschool students on exams!!!!!!!!!! WHEN WILL I NEED THIS REALLY!!!!!!

  • The 4th example can be proved by ASS?

    Am I right?

  • @TheAhmadSayadi ye tats wat i though :S ..oh well hahah maths test 2morrowww :(

  • she should enter an extreme penmanship tournament

  • she is lying but beutiful

  • The last one is NOT congruent. The claim is correct, but the explanation is pretty poor -- she basically said, 'it does not fit into our receipe.' This short lesson is certainly NOT intended to help kids' critical thinking skills. Anyway, it is not congruent because: when you have SSA, you can have two triangle with different shapes that meet the criteria. Clue:

    Case1: SIDE(A)-angle(acute)-SIDE(B)-ANGLE(Y) ;

    Case2: SIDE(A)-angle(obtuse)-SIDE(B)-ANGLE(Y).

    Some animation can help.

  • i wanna do this bitch

  • why is the last one not congrunt when u can look at it and clearly tell it is WTF!!!!!!

  • Just looking up congruent in the dictionary

  • Comment removed

  • El ejemplo cuarto: es falso , porque si uno los vertices que corresponden a los angulos agudos iguales encontrare un triangulo isoceles

    d) es congruente super congruente estan equivocados

The fourth example: it is false, because if a vertex corresponding to the same acute angles finds it an isosceles triangle

    d) is consistent super example is wrong

  • the last one is congruent as long as we know both angles are obtuse.

  • You call yourself a maths teacher you dumb bitch

"ASA" isn't a congruent rule. its "AAS". and the for D you say its "SAS" you don't no anything i wonder how many students you have made stupid.

  • Comment removed

  • @memo431 ASA is a rule among others. Wow, this is belligerent.

I think ASS works for you.

  • I think the example d) is a really bad one.

The last pair seems obviously congruent, and i dont see another way it could be.

Given this angle and 2 sides, there must deductions to prove the pair is congruent.

The fact that you DONT FIND a proof to tell them congruent DOESNT prove they arent.

Well, think about proving the last pair ISNT congruent....good luck

  • The last one isn't congruent because we cannot have a postulate of angle-side-side. As my teacher says " we cannot have an ASS or an ASS backwards-SSA.

  • use a set of compass and you can prove its not, draw a line 5 cm long, measure an angle of 50 degrees at one side, at the other draw a cricle with radius 4cm you will notice it intersects with the 50 degree line twice, meaning you can construct two triangles with two sides the same and one angle the same but theses triangles are not congruent.

  • The last one is congruents...

  • it is very easy but i think the las one is wrong

  • triangles (d) as they shear a line thy also

shear an angle at the top so could it not be ASA.?

  • She didn't give an example for the RHS type of congruency. In RHS axiom, there should be a right-angle, a hypotenuse and a side.

  • wow i'm sorry but she's a terrible teacher.

  • this was VERY helpful....i have my final exam this tuesday! :/

  • Remember this..."There is no ASS in Geometry"

  • yes! just find that out...after i fail my math testt today!! aha

  • nope but there is a t in stupid teacher

  • @gizrich look how quick I replied :O

  • @OMGincorperated now its SAS for little kids and iunderstand the joke

  • @OMGincorperated its HL! :)

  • @OMGincorperated My teacher says that there are not bad words in geometry.

  • AAA does not work because the side lengths can be differnent, however there is no problem with SSA

  • ssa doesnt work jew

  • ASS, SSA and AAA does not work, right? That's what I learned in class...

  • My teacher always says "ASS doesn't work and AAA doesnt work" AAA as in the insurance company.

  • its too basic.....

  • that is the neatest writing i ever seen on a white board, like seriously? lol

  • @Tezarious i no, no offence to my math teacher, but she couldnt write that neat!

  • @AbbASongs1 yeah my teacher too! everyone in my class confuses his 2's with Z's

  • @Tezarious i no lol, my teacher does something that everyone gets confused with, I think its L's it looks more like 1, I can get it, but every is like WTH?

  • @Tezarious I am deff jellin girl

  • what about A.S.S. theorem?

  • Angle side side does not exist

  • lmaoo

  • there is no A.S.S theorem

  • its SSA lol.

  • thanks :-)

  • It only works on a right triangle, and is therefore known as the HL postulate.

  • Who programmed this robot?

  • OMG this really helps this is easier than studying for exams :P

  • idont understand how she marked C .vertical angles...the double slants and the single slats arent on the same line..theres one slant and one double slant..so the lines isnt congrunt....

    im confused:/

  • umm i think theres a SsA theorem. We use it a lot

  • My exam is tomorrow!! thank you!! this will help me a lot!!!!

  • where is the proof of the A-A-S theorem? i need it! where's the stuff for math majors? glad this is here for guys that need it though.

  • i didnt get number 4 cant it be SAS

  • The angle has to be between the two sides for the postulate to work.

  • her drawing is very confusing. she should not have to look congruent

  • i love you guys, helping me pass the most easiest, but confusing subject ever, geometry XD

  • she is smart!

  • YES!!

  • isnt the D proven by Angle side sie?

  • Angle side side is not a way you can prove triangles are congruent. Only:

    SSS

    SAS

    ASA

    There is no ASS lol

  • actually there is an ASS theorem when one of the sides is opposite of the hypoteneuse.

  • but it's in circle geometry... yeh it's weird...

  • there is also RHS. right angle, hypotenuse, side.

  • theres hl and ha, u have to first assume or prove that the triangles consists of congruent right angles in order to use this theorem, geometry for enjoyment and challenge is the best book out there, its rigorous from flow chart to paragraph to two-column, ardous and tedious if u enjoy critical thinking and mental stimulation. the earlier editions have more problems. there should be a video using this book, using the examples for teaching.

  • ya but number 4 does not make a right angle.

  • well-done video

i remember proving triangles congruent in geometry lol.. i always thought that the SSA worked i was like "WHY DOESN'T SSA WORK!!" lol then someone drew two triangles with SSA but were not congruent then i was like "oh yea.." lol

go SAS!!! that's the best postulate

  • her hair looks like darth vader's helmet

  • Math is cute by definition. She seems cute too, so she is the right person for this work. End of the proof.

Incidentally, I'm gonna see all his videos!

  • u got bad taste, i got lucy pinder :)

  • most high school geometry books are a no frills watered down approach state the theorem but dont go into the how? geometry by arthur weeks, or geometry ray jurgensen, geometry munro, geometry for enjoyment and challenge by milauskas, geometry by shute, geometry

  • I love the way she grins at the end...

And how the hell does she manage to write THAT neatly?

  • probably catholic school, they pop your knuckles like crazy. lol

  • lol yea i lol'd at the end =P

  • Thanks a lot for your help! I have a midterm and was totally lost, and watching your video helped me a lot.

  • bam

  • I'm only watching this cuz I hate math & I thought that this might be more entertaining.

But I've realized that anything that has to do with math will always be boring.

    Technology or not.

Thank you math for putting me to sleep, I really appreciate you wasting priceless hours of my life :)

  • omg hours? you must love math =]

  • hahahaha very funny!!! :)

  • how to download it

  • 1. ASA Postulate

    2. SSS Postulate

    3. SAS Postulate

    4. SSA Condition - FALSE

  • you can't have an ass backwards [[:

  • no, in every geometry book they refer to the incorrect condition as "ssa", not "ass"

  • In A, B, and C, the triangles are equal, but in D, the triangles are not necessarily equal.

  • I remember ATTEMPTING to prove triangles congruent for Course 2 Math. I absolutely detested 2 column proofs (with the exception of Logic Proofs (Disjunctive Inference, Modus Tollens, which weren't bad)). But I could never figure out how to prove triangles or quadrilaterals congruent. It was the one time in all my education that I came close to failing a class (I'm a graduate psychology student now). Ended up passing that semester with a D, and my final grade for course 2 math was a low C+.

  • i hate proofs too!

  • Good video. I'm struggling with proofs. I hate proofs.

  • same here

  • my teacher told us you can't have an ass and you can't have an ass backwards (ssa) it helped me! :)

  • LOL SHE SAYS SSA instead of ASS to not embarass herself

  • lol i noticed the same thing. thats how my teacher told us, ASS never works!

  • I liked math until proofs rolled around...

  • I need the proofs
