Thank you for that. What I know is that Ford is supposed to be doing the "One World Ford" plan. They are supposed to make the cars that they produce for Europe available here as well. You are right though the wheel bases are too far off for the Taurus to be built on the same platform as the Mondeo. Thank you for pointing it out to me other wise I never would have looked into it. LOL the platforms are different. The EUCD platfrom is only used for European cars. EU stands for European CD stands for C and D classes. Only these cars who use this plaform: 2007 Volvo S80 sedan 2007 Ford S-MAX 2007 Ford Galaxy 2007 Freelander/LR2 2007 Ford Mondeo 2007 Volvo V70 2009 Volvo XC60 Future models: 2010 Volvo S60 And a new Land Rover wich will be made in 2012 So you can see NO Taurus. I was not looking for concession. Personally I frown on Ford for not employing the EUCD platform in the States. From what I gather a platform is little more than a frame though, which leaves Ford all sorts of room to put in a cheap interior even if they brought it over. Still Volvo engineered the EUCD so it would have been a great starting point for a good US car. Bad Ford no doughnut!
