@HaystackGirl37 -- Thank you, I love 'em too. : ) I am hoping this summer I'll actually find time to ride again on a regular basis. It's been too long.
@planes100 -- Thank you. very much. It must be strange to watch these "northern" videos with everyone talking about "Spring" while you're getting ready for your winter down there.
When I was a kid my pony would give my a slow ride out and a (very) fast ride back to his friends. It's good to see that snow melting. I love winter-up to about the end of Feb. Then I start looking for signs of spring. Thanks for taking us with you on your break. Work will always be there but time with little ones is too precious to waste.
Ohhhhhhh, you made me miss my horses sooooooooo much! I have never seen a saddle like that. Looks very comfortable for horse and rider. Couldn't make out what you were saying re:teaching them to stop/halt.
did you say 'exhale'? cool. I used the half-halt in varying degrees to either prep for transitions or full halt. My son's reining horse
used the loose reign slid up the mane to lock
and slid.Taught my horses and students
emergency dismount. Horses auto stopped if rider slipped.
They are really nice. I have always been afraid of horses. Got into an accident with a pony, and a selkay that flipped when i was a teenager. Also I was bit by a big horse that a neigbour had, bit me right in the bum. I never really went near horses after that, Always thought they were kinda mean to me. Yours seem really nice to people. Thanks for the video. I am surprised to hear they live so long.
Snow melted, turned my corral into a mud pit!!! Sucked the muckalucks right off of my feet twice already. Gotta go out and clean my coop & goat shed this weekend, the liter stayed frozen most of winter & it's really piled up!
They are great! and precious! I never really took to riding though I grew up in AZ and learned how to ride at 13 on quarterhorses, but I was thrown once too often and never got back on one. I love them though, I am a very big animal lover and never met one large or small that I did not love. Thanks for sharing. Noreen
Wow...this NYC native loves a peek into the countryside. I too have only been on a horse once. It looks like lots of fun...except for the poop clean up...LOL
Those are such beautiful and healthy looking animals. They love you! It's really neat how they follow you. I thought I was already subbed to you, but for some reason I wasn't.
I've only ever been on a horse once in my life. Very odd experience. lol I had a friend who used to do shows with him (a white Arabian). That's been a long long time ago... *sigh*
awww love your horses :)

Thanks for the info on the Iceland Horses Renee. I'll keep that in mind for when I move to "greener pastures". :)
