  • Magnificent! Never got to see this onboard stuff on TV back then. Snippets perhaps. Funny to see my new fave give my old fave the finger for weaving and blocking (which would be oh so verboten today - the weaving not the finger ;)

  • no pitlimit?

as he leaves the pits he just pushes the hammer down, while there are many ppl around...

Amazing video, i love the old f1 vids... pure racing.

  • @Speedy00 Yeah. The pitlane speed limit came in 1994, after Imola.

  • shumi is FW broker :D

  • Loved it when Schumacher flips off Berger @ 6:18! LOL

  • I like how Michael gives Berger the finger for blocking him!!!... The old boy showing the kid who is boss!!! LOL!!! ;P

  • Awesome video, the art of real racing, shifting without paddels and stuff, just brilliant..

  • @wimpiedimpie

The only remaining F1 pilot on the track, who has driven manual gearbox. :)

  • @industab damn straight

  • 1:46 the old times..no speed limit in the box..think about todays duels in the box ;)

  • Michael is GOD

  • lol @ overcrowded pitlane & the crew's business men trousers to work on the car :-)) Simply cannot imagine it these days...

  • So awesome ! full speed out of pits. These times gave a kick!

  • His revs on downshifting are insane lol

  • I bet he was in need of new engine for every race with that driving style :D

  • @bubi8894 In those days, they changed the engine every race anyways. Usually three a weekend. Mclaren even had maxed-out engines just for qualifying!

  • @Gregz0r1 sick stuff. must have been super expensive for the teams!

  • @bubi8894 All the big teams had mega-budgets from tobacco sponsorship.

  • @Gregz0r1 true.

  • The screaming engine dealing with those big downshifts.... crazy. This camera angle gives you just the right sense of how close they're racing together. Just perfect!

  • DAnke Schumy!!!

  • oh my god that poor engine is SCREAMING for mercy ! And that red revs light looks like it wants to hop out of the dashboard ! :-D Awesome vid !

  • great quality!!!

  • this is fantastic, i could watch this over the long race...

  • lovely downshift from 6 to 3

  • I think schumi shows him the finger because clearly berger just blocked the middle of the track. Hi didn´t held any line (racing or defensive). And then he pitted - so he stupidly cost himself and schumacher a lot of time

  • i think he showed the finger because berger blocked him on the straight towards the ascari, which was fair move, but then berger goes straight into the pits for his planned pitstop, hence michael thought it wasted his time as berger could have simply let him through.

  • loooooool 6:18

Schumacher shows the finger to Gerhard Berger xD

  • the car is bether in the corners.

    so faster i c

the finger 2 berger is good, wyyy???

    stupide berger.

    oke now w go race.

    i love schummie

  • I like so much that beautifull finger his gives to Berger !!!

  • I believe he goes from 6th gear let's say, directly to the gear he needs for the approaching corner. He pegs the revs until the revs match the gear speed. Crazy stuff.

  • It doesn't sound like he goes through the gears when downshifting does it?

    That's odd, others do.

  • You can tell he's a cerebral sob isn't he?

Great maturity for his 23 years of age back then.

Also conciously not passing Alboreto before parabolica to avoid a retake on the straight.

  • I believe there was a yellow out at the parabolica.... Someone went straight off. I think it was Alesi if my memory serves me right....

  • @xgrod - it was Capelli - he lost it on the brakes and spun off. Quite amazing - I was at this race, and then on lap 13, there was a huge exodus from the grandstands when both the Ferraris retired on the same lap :)

  • @gold333

...He wasnt close enough to overtake at the parabolica

  • stunning comeback drive.

  • brilliant rare vid, 6:18 is priceless...

  • @rtsf1182 Ja, ja der Gerhard, der alte Schluchten-Scheißer! :-P

  • @rtsf1182 So Michael was doing that move 3 years before Wendlinger!!

  • lol @ 6:18
