I was lucky enough to see her in 1998 in RAGTIME. It was still in preview then, and all I knew is that it was based on the book that I dearly loved, but had NO IDEA how they could make it into a musical. There, I was introduced, mesmerized, and enchanted by not only an amazing new musical, but more importantly, to the most beautiful, angelic voice in the world. As a music professor friend of mine said once, "Ms. McDonald can do no wrong."
