The night before the total eclipse a weather front reached Hungary but fortunately it left us before the attraction. The sky was nearly totally clear.
I watched the eclipse from my garden just outside Helston, Cornwall. I called on my elderly neighbour to see if she was coming out to watch it, but she said she preferred to watch it on telly.
Wish i was old enough to understand and appreciate it. I was 6, we went round my great aunts house to watch it. Didn't see it as a big deal, looked pretty, but got bored and went inside lol.
I witnessed the total eclipse at Nance Kuke near Redruth, Cornwall. It was cloudy unfortunately but the speed of the the approaching darkness was totally weird. I'll never forget 11.11am on 11th August 1999.
Brilliant. I wish I could re-live that day. We were in Bigbury Bay, Devon, It was the most incredible day. My son was just a baby. Watching that made me feel emotional.
I live in Plymouth, in Devon, and I remember it was a sunny hot day and I was sat on my Grandparents roof after climbing out of the Skylight...the feeling was very weird, but awesome.
I took my family to Bigbury-on-Sea in South Devon. It was just as good as that with coplete totality. It was the most incredible experience of my life. I just wish I could turn the clock back to 1999. 11.11am on the 11th of Sept - WOW!
It looks very simular to chapel carn brea down near lands end. I remember staying down during the eclipse and it was as it is here. It was a warm, humid morning with a really opressive feel to the nature. I seem to remember there was no wind, and the whole movement was very eerie. There's never been a day like it other than in cornwall.

Unfortunately it was let down by the weather in Cornwall. I was in Lowerstoft, Suffolk, got 94% coverage. I remember seeing the sun at that moment.
