What a brilliant mind must have written this piece of work. I can't descibe the feeling I'm getting from this song. It changes from melancholic to dramatic to almost drastic, but not in a negative way. Absolutely genius!
@5random1 The total time recorded: 240mins, divided by the length of the video we see here: 6.5mins, equally 39. Thus the original 4 hour video is speed up by 39 times. Unless, that is I've missed some concept of multiplying time, for example, there could be some magnitude scale when speeding up video footage. And I think is the 240 min/4 hour video is speed up by only 5 times, that is, multiply 6.5min and 5 getting only 32 minutes. Our mutual friend says the original was 4 hours.
Oh, very nice orchestration of this piece! Since now I only knew the organ version, which I uploaded on my channel - if anyone is interested: have a listen!
I still beleive that classical music is not dead... Thanks to Arvo... Glass... Adams... Reich... Finally somebody rescued us.... lost in the atonal, noise, chance, spectral etc....
@5random1 Hi there, I simply stretched the four hours worth of sky footage into the 6:24 minutes that the music piece lasts (Im not really sure how many times as fast that is) using the time stretch tool in adobe premiere pro 1.5. Thanks!
Every visitor to my home who has heard this brilliant piece on my stereo always comments on its exceptional quality. And now there is this video. Buniluvr is so right to use the word "Haunting" to describe the almost apocalyptic sense of those storm clouds. I have to watch out that i don't see this on a day when I am not really "up," because it affects me too much. But I love the music in any case.
@AlbertoBalsamm: nice comment. I think that if a person can see the sky and connect it to this music, and takes the time to actually put it together... well, this person deserves a thank you. These days, it's a big sign of humanity, which we are losing.
Ma è meraviglioso!!

Ah! What a fantastic idea! I am going to share this with my artist friends.
Meanwhile, Arvo Part is perhaps my favorite modern composer. Well done!

@chuspita2009 classical music is dead it died in about 1820... this is minimalism inspired by and based upon the principles of the 1960s composers.

Hi there... I know... I also write in a minimalistic style... or better, post-minimalistic because, as far as I understand minimalism is also dead...

@AlbertoBalsamm
4 hours * 60 mins / 1 hour = 240 mins.
6:24 mins ~ 6 mins.
So 240 mins into 6 mins means that the final piece is about one fourtieth (1/40) the original length of the film.

@AlbertoBalsamm
That would be about 37 times as fast as normal.
But that doesn't really matter, it's beautiful.
