@walawala1973--What a great clip. George looks at himself and his former bandmates and is proud. There was a lot of tension during (and after) the break-up of the Beatles, yet Harrison had found his own voice. It's fantastic to see the 'serious', 'silent' one smiling and enjoying himself. Just watch his face, his eyes-he looks like a new father! Please post more if you can...JT8800 in Boston.
@TwoUselessLegs Your comments are getting annoying now, I mean, I can understand you not been that into George( really I can't, he was so talented and without him would be no Beatles as we know them) but I don't get the point on being in every single video talking rubbish about him, if you don't have something good to say just shut it, you're making a fool of yourself. AND this video is so adorable, I guess there were so many memories for him in there.
@TwoUselessLegs Prior to 1967, George had only written one song of any consequences: "Taxman". In later interviews, George Martin said he was very impressed with George's later Beatles songs While My Guitar Gently Weeps (1968), Something and Here Comes The Sun (both 1969).
@TwoUselessLegs Listen, George was an innovator! He was just as good as John or Paul, he was the one who introduced the sitar to occidental music and people didn't appreciated him, then he made something and here comes the sun and those are the best songs in abbey road. Sorry to burst your bubble dude, but the Beatles wouldn't be nothing without him.
@TwoUselessLegs You don't like George very much I take it.....well, to each his own. These are guys that've known each other since they were fucking KIDS. They grew up together, shit in the same basket, went thru things that none of us could ever even imagine together...they knew each other so well they were closer than most families so it's highly unlikely that ANY of 'em would be "polite" when critiquing one another's material...if anything their opinons would be pretty fucking brutal.
@thegrinchl7 Well well well...somebody got up on the wrong side of the chopping block today, I guess.FYI m'lad....ALL the fabs have slagged off or denounced their Beatle heritage at one time or another, especially during the years they were striking out on their own...what's so shocking about that? As for the songs on ATMP being nothing but Beatles rejects, what the fuck d'you think Paul's first solo effort was made up of?? OR John's first record? We don't know our Beatle lore very well, do we?
When we wake up to the truth of life, inspired music like this will emerge and flourish again, and all the uninspired crap that people call "music" these days will fade away and be forgotten. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says to learn the truth of life.
I absolutely LOVE this clip! Just the way his face lights up as the fond memories come flooding back ...you can tell that despite all the animosity and bad patches he and the Fabs had gone thru there was still alot of love and respect in him for his former bandmates and what they'd created. Very very sweet.
@o0oLaylaINTHESKYo0o he had brain injury, when he was born doc smacked him at head instead his butt, hence he bubble his nonsenses, but If he jump on his head, maybe he could get any wise again, however he is sick person
have you any disease on your brain,or had you any injuries, you are like LP,still around, around and around the same, you must be very sick person, who asking you for your opinion??
And just think, now that film is on youtube as clear as ever. We can see so much footage, about almost anything, on demand, for free, right here. wow. Im gonna search for some shakespeare, then don king.
@BigJohnWoody Sorry, I didn't mean to say I know of a certain film. It just looks like it was taken from some kind of documentary or something. Thanks for posting it anyway.
if you say something like "george was never meant to be a lead solo vocalist" or "he is lucky for end up in a band with John Lennon and Paul McCartney", you probably have never heard songs like "Something", "Here comes the sun", and the album "all things must pass"... what means you know nothing about music and shouldn't have the right to speak about any of the beatles.
@FScholz04 And not to mention his guitar work on ALL their songs. Without a lot of his guitar work, a lot of The Beatles songs written by John & Paul wouldn't be the same.
@Marshallsg You are absolutely right... wouldn't be the same. He played an important part in their success, no one can deny it. As much as Paul, John, and even Ringo.
Looks like they're watching the footage on a flat screen LCD like tv!! It's nice not seeing George so bitter about his Beatle past or being in the Beatles for that matter... I wonder if they would all smile and remember the good from those years if the 4 of them were to watch themselves singing together.
Mr Harrison said it himself: ALL THINGS MUST PASS.
Like most people (& from what I can tell from these comments), I never met the man in this life...maybe in the next one-if we're lucky. True, he was an incredible yet flawed human being, but then again, who isn't?
The only way we can live forever is through death. The Beatles weren't gods or any other type of deity-they were a great band that eventually fell apart. Sad as that is, their memory still goes on. For better or worse...
All these comments about peoples personal feeling about George Harrison, The man is A Beatle for fucks sakes, a little respect please. Thumbs up if you agree!
@SieSieD101 : Actually, Eric longed for George's wife, Pattie ( who he later married of course ). . while George had an affair with Ringo's wife, Maureen.
A regular soap opera, no ? ( not really, but close . . in a Fab sort'a way )
Some very nice footage in the 70's and he looks happy watching the Fabs. "Isn't it a Pity" that he's dead? "That's the Way it Goes." I'm glad he was able to finance a Python movie while he was here and record some good songs. It's more than what I've done.
George mentions that John was blind as a bat during the early days I thought he needed glasses around 1966/67 but I didn't know the dude was short sighted all along !
What sort of device is that? Looks too flat and thick to be a tv from that time... but can't be a projection because you can see the tape on the desk.
I keep coming back to this video. One of my favorites on YouTube. Of all the Beatles, I would most have wanted to be friends with George. The more time goes by, the greater my respect for his musical genius becomes.
Is this from the Grenada interview? Would love to see the whole thing. Priceless is the word. Only time I think I've ever seen one of the Beatles listening to themselves besides on the Anthology. Good song indeed!!
george is reacting to watching the beatles...the way we react to watching the beatles...they make us smile, laugh touch our hearts..and here he is...reacting the same exact way...funny isnt it life is
Only 4 persons in the world (2 dead and 2 alive) know or knew what it means to be a beatle, that is the lovely thing in this video. Beatles the best band ever.
Georgie is awesome! Even if he is dead i still love him! Im Araya Noe and i look alot like george. My hair is a bit curly but his was more curlier than mine! Oh George...
You make me smile George! In 1968 your hair grew. Alot longer. Oh well. Nobody is perfect. George i have perfect pitch at singing!
I look at this and feel like laughing at my old broken heart that desired my ex to come back to me. that kinda love is so trivial and george's smile tells he's knows this now
George wasn't just the most underrated Beatle. I think he's the most underrated musician ever. That'll happen when you're standing next to Lennon and McCartney. People sort of naturally assume, "well, the band had 2 geniuses, maybe the best ever, so there's no WAY there could have been a third genius. I mean, statistically it's practically impossible that 3 geniuses would end up in the same band from Liverpool." But when I list my top Beatles songs, George has a LOT of songs at the top.
Everytime I watch this I feel warm all over. I can really hear the love in his voice and see the love in his eyes. It was truly a magical time for them and us!
@johnsomnia Ringo listens to them on his iPod?! But how? They're not on iTunes! Maybe he gets them on his iPod because he's Ringo. Or maybe he illegally downloads them. XD
@chibichibi9981 Or maybe he used the Apple USB release of the catalog, which did have it in mp3 format, or maybe his kids ripped the CDs for him. Who knows! :)
I have to join the chorus on this one: where on earth is this from? I just love it -- I love how George sees through the showbiz and laughs at it all, having the memory of who they really where while they were up there smiling in suits. I read some interview with Ringo where he said he still listens to The Beatles on his iPod. I listen to them on mine, but I can't imagine doing so and having the memory of being on the recording! Gotta join the chorus: WHERE IS THIS FROM? MORE! :) :) Thanks!
what pi,ss me of is that to me george harrison is the best guitarist ,all the solos he did in the beatles and even after , eric clapton will tell you that he hasnt learnt nothin of any1 else only george , he learnt shit loads of george and george anit even in the top 10 best guitarist ???
This footage is priceless. Wonderful to see. George is often seen as bitter about his time in the Beatles but clearly, it couldn't have been farther from the truth. Certainly later he wrote warm nostalgia songs like "When We Was Fab", as well. "Not a bad song, though..." LOL This made my day.
Just when you think you've seen every bit of Beatle-ish footage. Just perfect. I can't imagine what it must have been like for him to watch this. Where did it come from? . Thanks
Thanks for posting this! Just wanted to let you know that I used this video recently in my George Harrison blog - link is on my channel if you're interested in seeing it!
OMG! Where's the rest of it?? It's fantastic. Where was this from? George was my fave Beatle at first (because John was married!) LOLOLOL! Ahhh...those were the days. John and George remained my favorites and still to this day. Figures they would be the ones we'd lose first! :( Still luv Ringo and Paul though too!
George being the youngest of the 4, looking back to those early days, seeing how funny they all were, and appreciating the music... great memories of the Fab Four...
Even his laugh has an accent! <3

why all the negativity? Beatles would never have been the beatles without Harrison.
macduflives 5 months ago
@maxeythecat - His songs got "better" largely because
they couldn't get worse. Keep in mind that George often
submitted 6 or 7 songs per album. Had the Beatles been
less than polite they likely would have rejected ALL OF
THEM. George got 1 or 2 songs out of pity or cowardice
(how can you keep telling the poor kid his music is shit?)
George's "contributions" often meant John and Paul had
to spend time FIXING his shit. Sorry, but every song you
mentioned is musically and lyrically weak!

@johnsomnia Ringo listens to them on his iPod?! But how? They're not on iTunes! Maybe he gets them on his iPod because he's Ringo. Or maybe he illegally downloads them. XD
chibichibi9981 1 year ago

Where did it come from? . Thanks
