  • hi, thanks for the video... I was wondering if you could bring some insight in how tight a best should be. Some of my buddies in the gym put it really tight even when the ab muscles are relaxed. When I personally I do this it feels like my guts will come out when the abs contract. It just doesn;t seem comfortable this way. thanks

    If you are insistent on using a belt then it should be on as firmly as possible. I like the lever action ones, that when adjusted correctly, really suck you in. However, use caution when using one. A good friend of mine broke a rib putting his on at a meet.

  • Unless you are lifting at or over 100% of your 1RM stay away from the belts. They give you a false sense of security and provide little in building up strong and powerful muscles in your body.

  • RM is short for repetition maximum.
