I think it's rather arrogant to have a black history month as well as BET. I'm glad mexicans don't have a hispanic history month or white people having a white history month or their own television networks. Personally I think we should have a "human being" history month, but then again, theres a whole other cluster fuck of a debate on that topic as well. Hispanics do have hispanic history month, it is celebrated mostly in states with a great deal of hispanic history, texas, arizona etc. It begins september 15 and ends October 15.
There is also an asian-american history month, native-american history month and women's history month.
Most schools teach white history as a standard so there is no need for a white history month. I think if most schools taught histories evenly then we can do away with these months, they only seperate.

I'm glad mexicans don't have a hispanic history month or white people having a white history month or their own television networks. Hispanics do have hispanic history month, it is celebrated mostly in states with a great deal of hispanic history, texas, arizona etc. It begins september 15 and ends October 15.
There is also an asian-american history month, native-american history month and women's history month.
Most schools teach white history as a standard so there is no need for a white history month. I think if most schools taught histories evenly then we can do away with these months, they only seperate.

But I think groups like Italians celebrate their people&culture regularly anyway & weren’t “shamed” for it unlike historically with blacks.

With that being said, the idea of race was concocted by the early whites to further divide and conquer early resistance. Aside from a cosmetic difference, there is nothing which makes one better or worse. We should be taught American History, and if they are of a certain ethnicity, that is at best background noise, and barely relevant.

I have been saying this about BET for years. I don't think they deserve to be called BET anymore.
