@Ora71 I disagree. If your appreciation for art depends more on the means taken to produce it, than the actual creation itself, then I think you're missing the point of art.
When I listen to a pianist playing a very rapid song, I will be impressed by it. But generally, while the technique and dexterity of the pianist might be border-lining superhuman, I generally think music itself sounds terrible and unmoving. I am not admiring music here. I'm admiring arbitrary athleticism.
@WhiteDragon103 (Cont...) But there is no meaningful distinction between skill in playing the piano and skill in doing some completely arbitrary task, like flipping coins into beer mugs or squirting milk out your nose. Surely one could acquire an impressive amount of skill in either of these.
The means and skills required to produce art are imposed by limited technology, the physical constraints of being human, and so on. While the means are arbitrary, the creation isn't.
@WhiteDragon103 (Cont...) What makes art beautiful to me is the fact it is an expression of imagination, emotions and ideas. This has nothing to do with means or the technical skill.
Ideally, this kind of beauty should be accessible to anyone, regardless of their skill or budget. Creating tools which allow individuals to have more creative power - perhaps to the point where it is akin to pressing a button, so long as the user is guiding the process - is the way things ought to be.
@Ora71 (Cont...) The means required to produce art is, in my opinion, arbitrary and ultimately unrelated to the art itself. Let that be technical skill in using animation software, the dexterity of a pianist or a guitarist, and so on. Skill in itself is meaningful only by the fact that it requires a certain kind of individual to acquire an impressive amount of it. (Cont...)
:D wow...I cannot believe, how talented alle students of animation mentor are... In my mind, i think, that anyone can animate perfectly before they start studying at AM !
Maya is used.. but.. you need more than just a "Program" to animate like a professional... you need some schooling... AM!
