I enjoyed your video so much that I just had to share on our Heavens Gait Farm facebook page - we have a great group of horse folks there and since we specialize in Tennessee Walking horses, I know everyone will be interested to see your Quite a Sugarfoot! Perhaps, you will inspire others to get out there and enjoy the glide ride and see this beautiful country! _ Judy Noyes @ Heavens Gait Farm
Wonderful video! I own 4 TWHs - two black, of course! We spend a lot of time in Black Hills and Big Horns trail riding and camping. Thanks for making such a wonderful video!
We couldn't get to as many rides this 2011 season as I would have liked due to the economy & gas prices, but even so, I recently learned that Sugarfoot came in 18th place in the Mountain
Region Endurance Rides Light Weight Division for 50 mile rides! We made the top 20! Yeah for Sugarfoot!! The Mtn. Region encompasses WY, MT, ID, UT & parts of SD. I'm so proud of her!
Its great to see walkers doing endurance im looking into doing it next year with my arabian/teneesee walker mare for our first time. Any tips for a newbi? i'd only be doing 25milers.
@Jorey1Talent -- A great book to learn more about the sport is called "The Complete Guide to Endurance Riding & Competition" by Donna Snyder-Smith. Do lots of LSD riding (Long Slow Distance). Don't push your horse too soon too fast and when you get to the rides, make sure to "Ride Your Own Ride". This is VERY important. It is very easy to get sucked into somebody else's ride, which will not be enjoyable for you or your horse. Remember, "to finish is to win" and you will have a great time!
@Starsilver17 Sugarfoot does really well against the Arabs. We finished in 6th place in the Mountain Region in Limited Distance for 2010. I just received my awards vest from the AERC with Sugarfoot's name on it. We've started the 2011 season doing well. We just completed our 1st 50 miler last weekend, doing it at a respectable 7 hrs. 21 min. and she pulsed down immediately coming into all vet checks. I'm a member of a gaited endurance group. A lot of walkers out there do great in the sport

Nice video! That looks like fun. I wish I could do that with our TWH but it would be too much for her :(
