  • Can you swim with these in? or will they fall out

  • Wow! Great Tutorial..That was so easy to follow. Can you please do a tutorial on kinky twist i'm not very good at braiding as yet and your the only person that i've been able so far to undstand on these twist. If it can be easy enough even i can follow that would be much appreciated lol ..Thank for the vid!!

  • This was so helpful because i didnt kno about the coiling part. lolz

  • please do kinky twist. cause the are so many people on youtube putting videos on do- it -yourself kinky twist and their hair does not look right at all. im so tired of the madness when will it end :(

  • I have wondered for years how to get that look for my daughter's hair. My friend told me the name of what he thought I wanted and you provided an easy tutorial! Thanks!

  • Thank you!!!

  • How can I do this and hide a dime size patch of hair missing from my head? Its on the right side of my crown.

  • @alyssssalyn You can't. Braiding is very unforgiving to bald patches. Take care of your hair and it will grow back in.

  • WONDERFUL! Very easy to follow.

  • thanks this was best tutorial on this subject x

  • @rndiphe Thanks...I seem to get that a lot. :)

  • wow, so helpful, thank u!!! :-)

  • I really love your videos, I wish you had more. Straight to the point, it clear, and I can understand it well. I twist my own hair but I never coil, I am going to try it on my hair.

  • wow nice video. I've been researching techniques for hair braiding. I'm pretty good @ sew-in but I'd like to try a different protective style. thanks

  • I have natrually long hair and I have had these before and when I took them out, it was a disaster. The stylist cut my real hair while trimming at the twist for stray pieces. Was she wrong? Will adding hair(for thickness) to already long hair damgage your real hair? I want them again for the summer

  • Now that is how you do a tutorial, very detailed. loved it! thanxs!

  • straight to the point

    well done

  • Very well explained tutorial..Thanks Sis!

  • you should put up more videos

  • Thank you.

Editing one right now. Hope to post it tonight or tomorrow. :)

  • Great video! Thanks so much for uploading this! I do have (3) questions for you though..... 1) How would you end the twists to keep them from unraveling if you were using human hair?

    2) If taken care of like single braids, would these last just as long as single braids? and 3)

When using synthetic hair, which hair would you use if you wanted it to look as much like human hair as possible? Thanks in advance!

  • Thanks!

    1. Once you do the twists the right way down to the ends they will stay. Seal them by dipping in hot water (when you're finished the whole head). Human hair should stay on its own.

    2. They last just as long if not longer than singles. The trick is doing them smaller (but not too small to damage your edges).

Kanekalon works great. Just don't use too much hair on each braid or it will look bulky.

If they ends ever start to look bushy just re dip them and they'll be smooth again!

  • i love this video!

i'm going to try it on my hair this weekend

but i wanted to know did you have to dip the

ends separately??? everyone has told me that kanekalon is the best hair to use but it

takes a while because you have to dip them separately.

  • Thank you.

You can dip the ends all at once if all the hair can reach the container with the hot water.

I've done braids with the Kanekalon (which is the best) and dipped them all at once.

Half at a time or quarter at a time is better though. makes sure you get all the ends sealed up nicely.

  • @2youdude I dip them half at a time when I do it. Just put some conditioner in the hot water and be careful of the steam.

  • Beautifully done!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • This was perfect!!! Thank You sooo much hunny

  • You're welcome. Thank you for watching!

  • This is so cool. I have been natural for a while and I have been wanting get senegalese twist. I'm going to try it. Thank you so much.

  • You're welcome! Let me know how it turns out.

  • u kno its crazy i can do twists like it aint nothin, but i cant cornrow for the life of me no matter how much i try!

  • You can do it. Just keep practicing.

  • Any tips on how to do this with euro hair? My white hair would just spring undone in seconds if I did this!!!

  • The hair I used was straight. If you do the twists correctly they should stay. If not, try elastics at the ends. :)

  • wow, i love this vid. just tried a twist and i got it...u just saved me a lot of money....thanks.

  • Yay...just what I love to hear. Good for you. :)

  • Wow that was a good tutorial !!

  • You're welcome!

  • Let me say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! I was very well done, no babbling, but made it just clear! thanks again for helping sisters! thank you!

  • Thank you for watching...more to come.

  • Thank you soooooooo much!! I've been wanting to learn this for a long time!!!!

  • You're welcome!

  • Can your hair get matted when you coil it?

  • No....the only thing that makes hair get matted with braids is lint and other gunk getting into the base of the braid.

When you're just putting them in there's absolutely no matting.

  • how do u curl the ends??

  • If you use synthetic hair you can wrap them around perm rods and dip them in hot water and if you use human hair you can use a curling iron to spiral curl the ends.

  • this is a wonderful video! very well made - catchy music, informative, and easy to understand. thank you!

  • Thank you! I try my best to entertain and educate. In 2010 I'll be posting new hair care, skin care and makeup tutorial videos regularly on my channel and posting new tips on my website so stay tuned. :)

  • thankz for the tutorial so its basically done like kinky twists?? how many packs do u normally need?? im prolly gonna do this style dis weekend

  • Yes, just like kinky twist but I used straight hair for this tutorial.

It really depends on how fat or skinny you want your twists and how long your natural hair is. You shouldn't need more than 2 packs though.

    Good luck with your braiding.

  • Hello

Have u ever did this with yarn ??

If so ... Any pros or cons ???

I wanna try the yarn twist in Jan

  • Check my comment below.

  • Peace

I wanna try this with yarn ( I see some women on YouTube doing yarn twist)

Do u have any addtl tips on working with yarn instead of kinky hair ???

  • It really doesn't matter what you use. Straight hair (which I used), kinky hair, yarn, whatever. The technique is the same.

The only difference is that you wouldn't use water to seal human hair or yarn, only synthetic.

  • @Locs2loose I've never done it before but I figure it would be the same as doing it with regular extension hair. Give it a go and see.

  • what do you do to the ends to prevent the twisted braid from unraveling?

  • Dip them in boiling hot water (be careful of the steam!).

  • This video is great! Ive been looking for a protective style for the winter and I think Ive found it. Im gonna try this out this weekend. Thanks!

  • You're welcome. Let me know how it works out and what your results are after winter is over.

  • Excellent video. I plan to try this tomorrow. Thanks.

  • You're welcome. Please let me know how it turns out or if you have any problems. :)

  • Im finally done...It took me 9 hours and one and a pack of kanekelon hair...It come out good i would say for my first try..Thanks again.

  • Great Video, can you do this on natural hair or is it better for the hair to be pressed? Can you do this without the extensions?

  • @babydoc8680

You can do it on natural hair for sure. The best thing to use is kinky extension hair so that it blends with your natural texture.

Yes you can also do it without extensions. I would recommend that you blow dry your hair before twisting it though. As the style gets "stale" it will shrink up and look really cute.

When you get tired of it, you can just pull them apart and have a funky twist out.

  • Can you please show how to do flat twist!!!!?

  • @ATLady21

I've been very busy recently but I will start rolling out more videos very soon and your flat twist is near the top of my list. :)

  • is all the coiling really necessary and if so...why?

  • Yes it is. If you don't coil the hair first the braids won't stay. They're just unravel completely.

    It's cumbersome but necessary!

  • ooooh ok, thanks so much!

  • what type of hair do I need to buy for this

  • Regular kanekalon works well. If you like the natural look try one of the afro kinky type hair.

When you finish braiding dip the ends in hot water to seal them. That helps the afro hair to curl up as well.

  • Wow! Best Senegalese twist tut I've seen on YT! Can you do a tutorial for flat twists, please? Thanks!

  • Thank you very much and yes I can. Subscribe for my videos and look out for it in the near future. :)

  • Love the video thanks!

  • You're welcome!

  • This is nice i braid and people always ask me to do them but i never knew until now. i would love to see more videos

  • Thank you!

I think the braiding technique is beautiful and it's pretty easy once you know what you're doing.

I'm working on some new videos. Two new ones will be posted next week.

  • Where Did You Get The Mannequin Head From, Cause I Want Want One???

  • I got it at Amazon. $40 I think.

  • You should do more videos. I found it very easy to learn with you showing the close ups. Thx

  • Hi 69jones family!

Thanks for the feedback and I'm happy to help. I've just started producing videos and I'll be creating and posting 2 new ones a week from now on.

Subjects covered will include, hair care, hairstyling, skin care and makeup application tips and tutorials.

  • What kind of hair did you use? I want to do these twists on my daughter, I don't want it to be all bunched up like the kinky twists though.

  • With this method you can use almost any hair really. In the video I was just using pieces of weave hair I had laying around that I cut off the weft.

If I were doing a full head I'd have used a pack and a half (or a little less) of Kanekalon synthetic hair. That makes it look really sleek and nice when you dip the ends in hot water to seal them.
