@2012lavender Ever have bacon bits on your salad, potatoes, or anything else? They are TVP. The answer is YES! We recently had a 365 meal presentation and served one of our faves Ham Hoc Stew.....They were literally licking the pot clean. Every last drop was eaten. There maybe some that are better than others, but I haven't found them yet.
@Nita877 Each meal will feed a family of four easily! Some recipes will feed six or more! In our original run we doubled the recipes becuase we had a family of 6. When we made the meal there was enough for our family for three meals! so all further meals were made as the recipe suggested.
@jacketsftb Textured Vegetable Protein It's basically Flavored tofu that's been dried. A great way to get protein to be a long term storage item at a low cost.
@jacketsftb TVP Textured Vegetable Protein Think baco bacon bits. It's basically tofu that is enfused with what ever flavore they want. Chicken TVP is made using chicken broth....Very good and good for long term storage
@jacketsftb you can purchase online theres a few sources but far as Ive seen Honeyville food seems to have the best cost- just google and once your on site click on can storage will take you to all the ingredients actually minus spices I think =)
@see3ga I have a kit that includes - 16 recipes, (label ready) a "how to" manual and a DVD, for $25.00 my email is Kory@Frostcpr.com. Paypal payments are gladly accepted.
Thanks for your help, I will be doing many of you suggestions. One question. in the 1st.recipe, Are the vegetables freeze dried or dehydrated? Reason I ask is 1/4 cup dehydrated carrots is equal to a 16 oz bag of frozen (aprox) and 3/4 cup dehydrated celery is one bunch. Thanks
Thank you for your videos! Can you let us know how many servings are in the recipes? We are a small family and I would love to make some of these up for us.
Makes life a lot easier! MY daughter LOVES the pre-made meals. She used a couple of them while moving recently. Just too tired to actually cook Just open heat and eat!
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! My husband is a high school band teacher and it appears his job is safe for just one year (yikes!), so we are taking the advice to store food VERY seriously. Therefore, we are going to do this in June and are gathering our supplies right now.
These are great meals but they take to long to cook. If your in the city and you can't make a fire then you must conserve your fuel. Better to use dehydrated everything.
@1thatisilluminated, These ARE dehydrated! There are ways to shorten cooking times too. And most of the reason it takes to long is because of the beans. some other meal (like chicken soup) take only 30 minutes.
@kmikesell I cook then dehydrate beans as well,They are ready in just a few moments, I have an Excalibur 9 shelf dehydrator so I can do about 3 lbs. at a time. If I needed to make many meals this would be too slow of a processes, but just for my family , I have plenty on hand.
Hey I never thought of these for backpacking/camping. They would be great! Inexpensive (compared to a mountain house meal) and compact! Thanks for the thought!
These recipes sound delish! Do you have a website or a book of more recipes? Would love to have more food storage recipes. Thanks for sharing! Love your videos.
We have tried both and prefer the Mylar bags. They are 7 mils thick and block out light, neither can be said for "seal-a-meal" bags. (We had one seal-a-meal bag get a hole poked in it) Now that being said.....if all you have is a food saver......then go right ahead! BTW you can do this without an inpusle sealer ($420.00). You can seal the edges with an iron and a piece of metal (I've seen it done with the edge of a steal level) Have you watched my other video's on 365 meals?
@matthewj1985 why does that make him a nut? He's a Mormon, and apparently Mormons are into being prepared - and obama is relevant because he's screwing us over so much it will cause the need to be prepared..... But I haven't a clue what this stuff means: teotwawki good bob
Do the Tvps taste real?

So, excited to try this. I can see how easy it would be to take food I eat all the time and just used dry ingredients.
