I was there last week and went down this track a number of times. I'd have done it more, but I finished off the rear tyre and got a pinch flat which wasted loads of time. Some of the Les Gets tracks are really bumpy on a hard tail, but this one was pretty smooth.

expensive ones, basically, 2 to 3 thousand dollar range are good bikes for that. trek makes the session line, those are pretty sweet, gary fisher makes king fisher,

basically look for something with over 6 inches of travel on both ends. but hey, ride your slugger around a bit, you cant rally like on full suspensions, but you can still do 40 mph descents on decent terrain with big tires.
