  • "...for no real reason. "

  • Thoms face cracks me up at 1:39

  • my favorite parts are when hes like fingers in the black bird pie are tingling tingling, that sends shivers up my spine then another favorite part of the song is when he says, exactly where do you get off? i love those parts. fregen i love you radiohead

  • this should have been the music video :D

  • it sounds a bit like the Intervention music they play at the end of the show

  • this must emphasise their love of trees. the hills they are on have 18th century poems carved in, growing from an ancient twin hill fort. on two big hills you can see across south oxon.

  • wow adam must spend a lot of time with radiohead

  • ci vorrebero piu' bistecche di cavallo , anche carne cruda , la famosa picula ad caval... (con aglio)

  • dream

  • since i heard the several incredible crappy copyies and covered shits of wakey wakey i begun to hate this song. why they dont leave this song uncovered. fuck those unorigianl obsenced dudes.

  • I love Jonny

  • such a beautiful place to play this beautiful song

  • Just do it raw man lol <3

  • what's this song about?

  • Comment removed

  • Just for clarification: they used this in their Thumbs Down webcast, as well as in Scotch Mist. That's the reason for the title.

Oh and this is BRILLIANT. I love that they do this sort of random, honest, "raw" thing.

  • Um Thumps up webcast...

  • when they start moving their heads at the same time ahah lovely :)

  • Fascinating - Amazing :)

    (bestever)

  • Such a beautiful sunset... Just what one needs to get into the mood of this misterious, but calm and soothing song.

  • great!

  • very Beatles-esque, in a good way. nicely done Thom & Jonny.

  • @lordmeowmeow Haha, I thought the exact same thing. The camera close up and Thom opening his eyes at 1:30 calling the viewer in in that "cheesy" manner :P

  • @lordmeowmeow Reminded me more of Nick Drake than the Beatles. Especially the album version, but I getcha.

  • one of my favourite songs

  • that is my favorite time of the day (very few sunlight), and the landscape is really beautiful, where are they?

  • wow. enough to induce tears in even the manliest men.

  • i LOVE them! So subtle, so profound.

  • This is scotch mist not thumbs down. =/

  • It was first shown during the Thumbs Down webcast.

  • thats your point of view dude. dont get angry... besides, I never said it was bad :)

  • Radiohead I truly love you!

Looking forward to the new album you (may) make!

  • Comment removed

  • Did you just say that Radiohead puts neither heart nor soul in their music? Clearly you've never listened to any of their lyrics then. Radiohead have written some of the most emotionally driven songs ever created. You can't achieve that with just your "mind."

  • And such is called...

    AWESOMENESS.

    Radiohead <3

  • fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! never heard something like this before. Im fucking amazed !!! lo mejor ctm!!!

  • yeah but I really miss the old Radiohead :S The only band I love like radiohead actually, is one hiting strong in some Italians radiostations not being a million dollar production has a very interesting stuff. Search SWAVE IN THE FUTURE and u will understand what I mean ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Haha thoms face at the end with johnny screws up a little.

  • From 1:35 Thom loooks like Alf. :D

  • Is this filmed on Wittenham Clump? I walk my dog there! I should go and kiss the ground where they made this <3

  • Definitely!

  • I never thought I could love Radiohead even more. You guys are amazing!

  • what the hell

  • In Rainbows is their best album IMO :D

  • I completely disagree, and you make it sound like there are loads you dont like.. in fact youv only excluded Hail to the Theif and In Rainbows, the latter I have to say is one of their best albums, and many would agree. There There, Where I end and you begin, 2 + 2 = 5, I will, Go to sleep, all amazing records!! And ones that the band frequent when playing live! And being one of the best live experiences on the planet, I definitely do not think they should break up!

  • ur right radiohead live its amazing

  • What!?

One good song on In Rainbows!?

    The entire album is amazing!

How can you listen to Faust Arp, Weird Fishes, and Jigsaw Falling into Place and say only one of those is good?

    You confuse me!

  • 1?

Lemme see, Body Snatchers, Faust Arp, Weird Fishes, Jigsaw, Reckoner.

    I counted more than one.

There are more good songs on In Rainbows, those are just my favorite.

  • hmmm...Jonny`s guitar was tuned differently like DGCFAD or something hehe...I mean he was using the right frets (the song starts in B minor I think) but I heard an A minor...well whatever, its their song xD

  • youve got a head full of feather

    youre gonna melt to butter

  • Brilliant.

  • :) waiting!!!!

  • Thank you Radiohead for this video.. I come from South of Italy, and I won't see you in Milan because it's quite far :(...

  • this place feels like Thomas Hardy's books. Radiohead almost called themselves Jude the Obscure after his tragedy about a poor bastard from countryside near Oxford who saw the city as a magical beacon on horizon and always dreamed of attending the university and gets shut out of wealth and love and every opportunity. That is like THE Oxford book.

  • haha, thom running

  • that looks like a real headies experience

  • This was also used in scotch mist wasn't it

  • The bleakness of the setting and the melancholy music suit each other. My fav video at the mo.

  • Impromptu and nicer than the studio version!

  • It was filmed in Little Wittenham Nature Reserve. :)

  • you got a head full of feathers.

    you got melted into butter.

  • superhuman.

what are the last 2 lines of the song?

  • wow

  • god,i really love thom yorke...

  • i love this song

  • it's so amazing how he's just talking one second and then the next he lets out this beautiful voice...

  • makes me feel SO well... this theme is magic!

  • It's cold, man.

  • Why did everyone rate this down? It's hilarious.

  • its the name of the webcast

  • I didn't mean the 'Thumbs Down' webcast. I was replying to a comment, which I thought was pretty funny, but a lot of people seemed to be taking the wrong way. It probably just appeared in the wrong place. Thanks all the same though.

  • Oh I see. Never mind then, sorry.

  • thumbs down???

  • One of Radiohead's best s. ever; and admirable video; actually, one of my best... from Radiohead... from all videos ever... and this version is better than the in rainbows' official. Potical Simplicity Poetical

  • arp = adjustable rate preferred, ARP may also refer to a french poet

  • Maybe Arp refers to arpeggio (the broken play of a chord)

  • i second that.. Faust was a man who sold his soul to the devil for almost unlimited power, but in the moment he experienced happiness, he had to give the devil his soul.. what's ARP tho? have anything to do with Hans/Jean Arp?

  • does anyone know what the meaning faust arp means? i do know faust means fist in german if that has ANYTHING to do with it but i dont know?? dont judge if thats a dumb question i was just wondering. Great vid by the way, thanks for the upload :)

  • you can hear adam buxtons voice at the start! yay!

  • so perfect...

  • i'm agree it's so beautiful

  • So beautiful.

  • Awesome.

  • they play it a whole step down from the album recording

  • no it's not. it's normal

  • yes it's on key down...

  • Thom's right eye shuts every time he stays 'stuffed' it's rather funny when you notice it :)

  • its cause its paralyzed and he cant control it as well as you can control your own, when he starts to shut his left or squint with it, his right completely shuts.

  • For anyone who loves this fantastic song I highly recommend the album, Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake, Drake is a legend and I am sure that Radiohead draw a lot of inspiration from him. So if you do not know of Nick Drake check him out you'll love it I am sure.

Radiohead you just get better and better I think, good luck to you.

  • I never noticed, but this does sound a lot like a Nick Drake song. Good call.

  • Los amo, son lo mejor del mundo, son únicos y extraordinarios. En especial a Jonny Greenwood, daría lo que fuera por verles en vivo.

  • thom smiled at the end when the outro was messed up a bit but looked down at the ground to save himself haha

  • thats near didcot innit?

  • Beautiful location. Looks just like Wisconsin.

  • my favorite from in rainbows

  • perfect!

i love this song, and the place OMG!

  • the place n the song..was a beautiful combination

  • i live next door to Wittenham Clumps!!! (where this is filmed!)

  • wow.. it should be a very nice and windy place.. isn't it??

  • i love this song and they're performance, i have to get this cd

  • amazing! why dont radiohead do a acoustic album like nirvana did?!?! they (radiohead) would have a bunch of great songs that would sound incredible!

  • they did do 'i might be wrong:live recordings'

a hint of things to come??? =]

  • in rainbows is one of the greatest albums ever

  • radioheads best...or my favorite atleast

  • I agree.

  • Thanks sparklerofalbion!

For a minute there I thought Thom was messing with Jonny. Now I know that wouldn't be possible

  • Great song, lovely rendition and location. In reply to juani26: I think he's saying "He's going blue, it's cold out here". Wear yer Long Johns lads!

  • Great version!

Hey what does Thom say at the end??

I'm not sure if it is "this guy blew" or "the sky blew" or maybe something totally different. Then Jonny says "It's cold man"

  • i think jonny said 'theyre going blue (his hands) its cold man'

  • I love how jonny just quiets everyone down.

  • thom yorke is cool!

  • Jonny is an absolute genius!

  • THOM AND JONNY

    I LOVE YOU

  • hahaha, anybody else read this and laugh?

  • Yes, me.

  • I love these videos. Its just all them fucking around. Its awesome! You see a part of the band you never really got to see before.

  • i guess he is stuffed

  • Wow, what a beautiful song.

  • extraordinary!

  • do you think coldplay would do anything like this

  • every coldplay song combined into one tour de force pales in comparison to this masterpiece of gloom/fun from Radiohead.

  • Yeah! It's so much better without the violons on the album version, but they should have put the volume of Johnny's guitar louder on this version

  • Weren't Jonny Greenwood cold there?with such a thin tee

  • !ouy raen dehswoc a ni gniyalp, ... daehoidaR

    !!enod-lleW

  • Where was this filmed?

  • wittenham clumps, oxfordshire

  • mustve been cold out there... quite a cold song

  • much better than the album version. perfect.

  • Listen to the acoustic part on Kula Shaker's "Hollow Man". Very very similar. I wonder if Radiohead are fans.

  • a. Ron Paul is a racist b. the Radiohead guys are living legends, but they are very humanly and fragile which, I believe, makes them so appealing

  • Beautiful performance. The studio version though with the string accompaniment brings me to tears every time I hear it. Pure joy.

  • lol...I LOVE RADIOHEAD AND RON PAUL!! I was just saying that neolithics moment of enlightenment was a little gay....just bashing a little cmon now!

    RON PAUL 08!

  • Man, it's a music video. nobody cares about Ron Paul right now.

There are a lot of dudes like you in Youtube, thoses days. I'm starting to get sick.

  • i love this song so much.

  • simple and beautiful ....

  • It doesn't matter where you are, but who you are.

An artist let his soul live in a better way in front of a sunset on a hill...

A guitar is the best friend in moments like that.

  • Thom looks so fragile as he sings looking into the camera.

  • I love this performance so much. It's absolutely perfect, everything about it.

  • I went up a mountain the other day, where they say you get the best view of the surrounding land below. By the time I reached the top it was sunset. For some unknown reason Faust Arp suddenly started off in my head... being the emotional sap that I am, I got all teary-eyed. Maybe it's because of this video, or it seemed fitting to play Faust Arp at that time, but it was certainly one of the most beautiful moments in my life. :'D

  • che fiiiigata

  • Isn't improv supposed to suck?

  • shmuk

  • Me to mate counting down the day`s!

  • Wait, why is that down a full step from the original song? Anyway, awesome video!

  • Well noticed - i would have thought it's cos it's easier to play in A minor, but he's just tuned it down so it's the same as playing in B... Maybe it's so it's no too high for Thom in the 'You've got a head...' bit

  • choose your words more carefully, i'm not a german + get a dictionary.

  • Beautiful song and video.. can't get any better then this unless you keep listening to RH :) .. loving the lyrics aswell

  • verdammt, da wär ich gern dabei gewesen...

    ...und hunderttausende andere genauso.

radiohead wird irgendwann die welt retten ... !

    ;)

  • think somebody needs a hug :O

  • falas pelo teu nome ò palhaço...pelo rectos !!!
