  • OMG! Well, I read the comments before I watched the video, so I knew about the laugh, but it was still completely unexpected-but absolutely perfect! :D AWESOME!

  • i love evanescence and brett. Great combination :D

  • brilliant!

  • 2:49 I love that, perfectly edited. Holmes's laugh over the music just makes it completely trippy.

  • haha Yeah, I thought that gave it a little extra creepiness. :) Glad you enjoyed, thanks!

  • Bloody hell! Amazing vid - thanks to you and Sir Henry. Brett was the best.

  • Perfect vid! Thanks for sharing!

  • You're certainly welcome. Thanks!

  • 2:48 FUCKING AMAZING! Well done!

  • i totally agree :D

  • What episode is he burying the syringe?

  • The Devil's Foot; you can watch it right right here on youtube. Great episode!

  • Oh, what a gorgeous man. And a marvelous actor. And what a fantastic video! Thank you so much for making and sharing this.

  • 1:51-1:55 is just wonderful with Watson blowing up at Holmes and Holmes just puffing away on his pipe.

  • It's been so long since I first saw this, but I /still/ love it.

  • "my wounds cried for the grave, my soul cries for deliverance...." powerful stuff. Great job!

  • What ep's are 1:40 and 1:50 -1:54 from?

  • 1:40 is from Norwood Builder, and 1:50 is from Crooked Man

  • His laugh sent chills up my spine in this video! Excellent!

  • WOW!!!!!

  • Which episode is 2:15-2:20 from?

  • Actually that particular clip is from the Musgrave Ritual. I LLLOOOVVEE that one. *grin* Thx for the comment!

  • Musgrave Ritual is great! When he gets high and can'y stop laughing is my fave

  • Very impressive. Nice work.

  • Woah so good !

  • very stylish, the editing is top notch. My favourite is 1: 14 when his hand shakes-v subtle ! : )

  • Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it!

  • Wow this is an absolutely amazing video! I love Holmes' laugh at one bit, and the editing is fantastic! I have to watch this at least once a day now :D. Also which episode is the clip at 2:25 from? I can't find it anywhere!

  • So glad you enjoyed it! That laugh my my fav part too. :) And my brother said that the scene at 2:25 is from Boscombe Valley. I'm not so sure, but he could be right. haha Thx for watching!

  • I like this vid.

  • good. can i get you to like any other sherlock holmes stuff?

  • Probably not.

  • What I found most interesting was that most of the clips were in color, meaning they were from more recent movies.

So, either the newer movies focus too much on Holmes' cocaine problem, or the older movies were too afraid to tackle the subject.

What struck me the most was the scene where Watson comes into the room reading a newspaper, and catched Sherlock closing the drawer with the needle in it. And the scene on the beach. Both pretty powerful stuff.

  • Actually, the older movies didnt quite address his cocaine problem. Though it wasnt quite so bad an addiction, mainly his escape from boredom if there were no cases. In the Canon he ceased to use it after SIGN, as Watson had convinced him that it was dangerous. In the Granada series (from which this vid was made) Jeremy Brett requested that they SHOW Holmes getting rid of it for the benefit of the audience. Dont know if you wanted all that info...but thx for the kind words Glad you enjoyed!

  • Can you please explain what is meant by Canon and SIGN? I'm guessing Canon is Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series, and SIGN is one particular book from the series?

(I realize this may be a silly question, but I've only recently started getting into Sherlock Holmes.)

  • Oh! Sry bout that. lol Canon means the original 4 novels & 56 short stories by Doyle. SIGN is just the short hand for Sign of Four, the second novel in the series. :)

  • Oh, ok- I understand. Saw the made-for-TV-version (2001) just yesterday. It was good.

Thank you for all you help and for answering my questions! :)

  • excellent job! you're brilliant with timing and the like. and that laugh *shivers* you really know how to interpret brett's holmes through music

  • Thank you m'dear! It was actually my little brother who did most of the work on this one though. *ducks head shamefully* But the laugh WAS MY IDEA ALL THE WAY!!! hehe Really, it was. glad you liked it! Thx!

  • You did good. I like the fact a guy can understand symbolism....

    Adrian

  • The laugh works better(for this video at least) than the I WANT TO DIE! that is in the song.(Though that gives me goosebumps too.)

  • That was fun to watch. I like how you made Holmes and Watson's best-friend-ness prominent in the vid.

  • oh, 00:31--00:32 is so rare!! Which ep does it come from? Never seen that before!!! How cool!

  • Well, 31 is from The Final Problem, and 32 is from The Resident Patient. You don't see the second shot much, I know! But it's so good. So glad you enjoyed the vid! Thx!

  • Good stuff.

  • Thanks!

  • WOW!! What can I say but BEAUTIFUL!!

  • V, you've outdone your self, my word, what a masterpiece, I almost forgot how much I hate exclamation marks in my excitement.

What a talent you have you must do another one, you and your brother have done an outstanding job.

I comment you both, it really could not have been any better.

Oh, and nice blurb there, ha ha ha. Do say hello to Sir Henry for me, will you? And ask him if he wants me to send you guys any more Billy Joel.
