  • Thanks so much! I was confused as to remove the battery flap from the camera!

    Much appreciated.

  • Ok great information...I've got a question though. I've just purchased the MB-D80 and when i place two fully charged batteries in it, it shuts down. With one(on the left side) I'm in business. Is it me? Is it the MB-D80?

  • i just get my battery pack, thanks for the tutoria, very helpful!l

  • @ 0:36 ... with the camera turned off ??? I bet you can`t insert the battery with the camera turned ON :))))))

  • Dumb dumb.

    1. With the camera turned off (sure no battery is inserted)

    2. Next step, with the camera still off, is to go ahead and install the batteries

    OMG

  • What lense do you have on the D80?

  • @Lousypenguin

    i think ist a 50 mm

  • I'm contemplating on getting this. Is it really worth $170 for longer battery life and a different shutter location?

  • It's nice if you are shooting with a large heavy lens. Gives better grip.

  • i got a Nikon D90 with this battery grip but my d90 does not recognize it. help me. thanks in advance.

  • I only have the D80, but I know it works with D90. You may want to ask the retailer,

  • Hi i need your help, i just bought a MB-D80 for my D90, but its only work with one battery, when i put in two Lithium Battery then it doesnt work, its only show a battery level on top screen blinking on and off but the camera doesnt come on. But once i take out the right battery then it works. thanks hope to hear from you soon.

  • You can try switching the batteries around or checking the contacts, I haven't seen this problem before

  • Go ahead!!

  • Go ahead!!

  • hi do you know how much more battery life does it give to the nikon d90? and thanks for the great video!!!!

  • It uses the same batteries, just two instead of one

  • does it work even if one battery is loaded only

  • Yes

  • very simple and helpful. thanks!

  • hi, i have a quick question - does the AA battery adaptor you hold up at 3:12 come with the MB-D80 or did you buy it separately?

  • @brighty44 seperate

  • It came with it.

  • Thanks alot for uploading this video.

    very informative.

    very helpful!

  • thanks for the video... this helps with any install questions.

    -ChrisEvin

  • no it dosent increase fps on the d80 or d90 only on the d300 and d700 does the batt grip increase fps!

  • Thanks for the info ...

  • what's the benefits of buying the mb-d80 grip? please let me know...

it's my understanding that the grip will not increase FPS.

  • It helps if shooting with larger lenses or if you prefer to shoot sidways w/o doing the elbow reach for the buttons.

  • yes it dose it act's just like the normal shutter button with a scroll wheel for adj

  • so if you allready have two scroll wheels on the d90 then what would the third one be for on the battery grip?

  • that vertical shutter release... does it focus?

  • Thank you so much for the video. I received my grip today (from ebay) and this video was extremely helpful in getting the grip attached.

  • How much of an increase in weight and size does it add to the camera?

  • Thanks a bunch for the info. It's appreciated.

  • sorry for this question but what does this battery grp do?

  • It adds stability when using larger or heavier lenses, multiple shutter release buttons and extended battery power if you install 2 batteries in the base of the grip and the ability to use AA batteries (6) if necessary.

  • thnx

  • makes it easier to shoot vertical, doubles battery life, and can increase FPS

  • i have owned the nikon brand and a third party grip the third party one from ebay for £50 is a bargin its exactly the same thing, but £100 cheaper,

  • Thanks!, made installing my new grip on my D90 a breeze!

  • hey thanks for the tip i install my mb d200 in to my camera without any problem

    thanks again

  • Thanks for good vid. can you tell me how much does it cost . does it came with the batteries

  • costs can vary, but it does not come with batteries

  • Thanks you sooo much for this! I got instructions with mine but didn't want to break my flappy bit!!

  • Hello how does the grip feel if we attached the mb-d80?

  • Feels great, like an extension of the Nikon Camera.

  • The trigger is crap. There are lots of better third-party battery grips.

  • Hi m8,

Can you tell me the advantage to mark them left and right? It doesn't make sense to me since it erases the history of amount of pictures shot when you charge it right?

    Appreciate an answer, really curious.

    Thanks!

  • thx, dude.

  • thanks m8!

  • does this increase the FPS?

  • No.

  • Thanks for the video. I didn't realize the grip included shutter and aperature controls as well. Sweet!!

  • isn't there any grip out there that is flush with the D80/D90, making it look like a D3x or something?

  • They have LCD ones on ebay for around £80, These would make your camera look very D3x'ish.

  • thanks. i'll go have a look.

  • Gotta shell out the big bucks if you want to look like a pro. Most common people will think you're rolling with the big boys, but Nikon enthusiasts will know better.

  • @Q124R Buy a D3, open it, scratch out all the technics inside and stick all parts of your D80 inside with a hotglue!

  • good video. but i can't shoot with 1 battery installed. can anyone help me ?

  • Awesome Video Thanks!!!

  • Awsome - I would have never consider this device without the video -- now I think this may be an indispensible accessory I HAVE to buy!!

  • Thanks!!!

  • Now works with the New Nikon D90!

  • nice video. picking mine up today. can't wait!

  • Is there any Battery Grip available for Pentax K200D? If you have one, can you display it on Youtube?

  • oooh but do all the aolications work loke the shutter releas

  • can i get one for my D60???

  • Not original by Nikon, but you can get some from Hähnel, I belive, try Google.

  • Yes, go to walmart

  • Whats the point of the battery selection thing (2:52) that comes up? what if you pick the wrong one?

  • If you use AA batteries, you need to specify the type of AA battery being used.

  • Excellent video jozefowicz. Conscise, to-the-point and relevant! Thanks man

  • Can you mount the MB-D80 to a D50? They share virtually the same body. Obviously the buttons wouldn't work, but could you still benefit from having 2 batteries or 6 AA batteries?

  • I don't have a D50 to test. It doesn't appear to though. The D50 has a grip available for that camera.

  • Hi,

First of all, thank you for the video. It is usefull :) How do you find N D80 as a camera? Is CCD sensor ruining all the joy of using useful high sensitivities of ISO ? I am wodnering to buy D80.

P.S. You have polish name ;)

    Cheers from Poland.

  • Hi, I typically never use high ISO settings. I have found the D80 to be the best value and offering for dSLR

  • CCDs allegly has better hifgh iso performance than CMOS - I think it's pretty even.

  • Hey thank for the info, nevertheless can you still use it on a tripod w/ the MB still on there?

  • yes.

  • what lens do you have on that badboy

  • 1.4 50mm

  • Hey, just a quick question:

Does the MB-80 increase the fps like it does for D300 etc?

  • No. Still 3 fps.
