  • man.. that pinch harmonic at 0:56 how does he get that without a pick?? hes got magic fingers..

  • Andy could probably sell out large clubs while doing reviews.

Sometimes, when I'm tired of listening to radio, and my CD collection, and my MP3s...I come on here to listen to Andy play.

Get this man a tip jar...pronto!

  • Great demo...thanks for posting. The powder blue Strat that you play at 3:25....is it stock and what model is it? What I'm really after is the make/model of the p/u's. Thanks again.

  • Somebody needs to invent a pedal that makes your fingers sound like Andy's fingers... damn does he play well!

  • Whats the song he starts playing at 3:19

  • @smOfficialMusic the wind cries mary is the first three chords anyway but dont know where the rest of it came from :)

  • OMG THEM CROOKED VULTURES

Andy's incredible taste in music continues to amaze me.

In fairness, it's not a song, but the riff sounds like a Gunman mix, with a bit of Scumbag Blues in the chorus.

  • The overdrive is a little too bassy for me, I like a little more treble than bass. Maybe it was because the last two guitars had single coil pickups, but the first guitar had humbuckers and it still sounded like too much bass. :/

  • Whats the song he starts playing at 0:10

  • thanx for jazzy version J Mascis's Ammaring

  • Top player, very tasteful licks!

  • Awsome Short Video

  • does the deville have more gain than the deluxe?

  • What was the first song you played Andy? It didn't quite sound like Gunman to me, but maybe I'm wrong...

  • Tell the Ammaring

    Tell a friend ;)

  • PGS is my go-to youtube channel for guitar and amp reviews. Thanks Andy for playing multiple styles in all of your reviews! A lot of review guys just play either strictly blues or strictly metal or jazz. You cover the full spectrum.

  • whats the song on 3:30?? someone knows??

  • @lavh93 I want to know too... :-D

  • @lavh93 ammaring J Mascis

  • i have the bugera v22, and it's a great little amp for the money, sounds great clean and with overdrive pedals, but live and in the studio, the drive channel is a little, not thin but, lacking in a way. this amp, however, is FAT. i absolutely love it. it's too bad it's wayyy out of my budget

  • this guy has to be the best reviewer out of all the music guitar reviews, some are dead set morons who cant even play guitar lol

  • Was that Them Crooked Vultures at the beginning?

  • @rock1the1arts100 GUNMAN!!!! fuckin awesome tune!

  • PGS, YOU HAVE ALOT LESS FENDER AMPS THAN WHAT YOU USED TO HAVE ='(

  • Wayne Kramer uses this amp!

  • Great Amp..Great Demo with Exceptional playing of some very Tasty licks to showcase this Already Legendary amp. I think the Deville 212, can be found on more stages all over the World, than any other guitar amp @ the present. I think it's Fenders biggest seller these days. The new Mustang III,IV,V amps are incredible as well.

  • Not A Very Versitle Amp

  • Dinosaur Jr. Sweet!

  • I have a question....who buys a Hot Rod Deville to play that style music? I don't care what it CAN do...I wanna see what it's made for....

  • I have a question. I've got a Hot Rod Deville that I've had for awhile. I recently retubed it with JJ's. Sounds great, but I was thinking I'd like a speaker change. I was going to go out and buy a Blues Jr. NOS, but I don't need another amp. Speakers aren't something one can just try out. I'd like some input from a professional before I spend a couple hundred dollars on new speakers. I mainly only use the clean and drive channel (the more drive channel doesn't do it for me). Suggestions?

  • @rickyp5150 Try Celestion V30's. They are 60watt speakers that sound great clean and driven.

  • This sounds not as harsh as a real fender twin. Great!

  • was andy actually using a pick what?!?!?!

  • whats the dif between deluxe and deville

  • Andy! Where did you learn to play like that?

  • random question, but how does Andy pick the strings? hes damn good with his fingers.

  • I like that new black faceplate.Looks cool and easier to read.

  • Did you seee that harmonic????????????? jeez andy you really Rock tha sh*t out of these guitarS!!!

  • what is that first song? you rocked it andy!!!!

  • @BeboAltizer Gunman by Them Crooked Vultures i believe

  • @sysv3rt thanks

  • Andy stop hurting me with your awesomeness......ow

  • what is the song that ends at 3 and the one that starts around 330?

  • @colemanthesoulman I think it's just several chord progressions andy has chosen to demonstrate the amp with.

  • porn music behind the review xD

  • w00t 720p video!!!

  • wait 720? oh man I've been gone too long

  • There should be Tabs to every video! Would be great

  • Does Andy use a pick or not? Sometimes I don't think he does but then sometimes I'm really not sure....

  • @bingefeller I think this is the first time that I'VE seen him use one (though that means nothing). It's cool how he ditches it at 2:44.

  • what is the song in the intro?????

  • Hooray for HD.

  • 2:44 !! Andy throws the pick to the ground to rock MORE !!

  • What are you playing at 01:58? Sounds great!

  • cool intro jam

  • What is the song at the beginning?

  • @andries9493 It sounds like a slightly slower version of "Gunman" by Them Crooked Vultures.

  • @andries9493 Gunman - Them Crooked Vultures =)

  • @RIVERtheROCKER hmm. its very similar but i dont think it is. ive played that song before and its a lot different then that.

  • hey, andy what is that first song called?

  • a pinched harmonic with fingers only!? you're the man Andy! 0:57

  • whats the song @3:27?

  • 0:56 - 0:57 OMFG! lemme try that!! sKeeWL

  • Andy are you a tele-fan?!

  • them crooked vultures?

  • @binladensassassin gunnman!!!

  • Hi, very good playing !. The second tele is an american vintage 52 ?

  • whats the song andy plays with the strat

  • Nice, Andy how did u made the pinch harmonic at the end of the intro? i like finger picking as well so it´ll be pretty helpful ... tnx great work and happy new year

  • that would be soo cool if andy did a new years concert in NY

  • mmmmm the Blacktop Tele HH is so delicious

  • I own a deville 2x12, the older one though. Still a great amp.

  • veryyyy nice intro!

  • GOD !! 0:56

  • 4:40 floating hotrod amp, woah!

  • Have a happy new year Andy! :D

  • What strat model is the one used at the end?

  • play it andy damn right.

  • Huh. never knew you could pinch harmonic without a pick. D: You're full of amazement Andy.

  • I hear parts of Wind Cries Mary and Lenny from the last song you played, but I can't recognize the other parts of the song...which other songs did you combine?

  • AMMARING!!!! You're awesome for playing that.

  • @xboxnissan Good amps are not about simulated presets, it's about the inherent sound of the amp itself, produced by the valves, the speakers and the acoustic properties of the amp as a wooden box. I've got a Hot Rod, it definitely has its own, instantly recognisable sound.

Also, the VOX VT series only produces solid state modelling amps, it has nothing to do with tubes, they only simulate the tube sound. This amp however, is a real tube amp (and a damn good one too), hence the higher price.

  • @viomartyr Dude read up The Vox VT series do have a 12ax7 tube I know I have one and I've changed it before.

  • @SR5127CL Shoving a solid state signal through one single 12ax7 is in no way comparable to a tube amp of this nature. A VT amp will never achieve the fidelity a Hot Rod series amp does.

  • @SR5127CL one measly tube with a bunch of digitalness big freakin whooop!

  • @viomartyr What you on about? Vox VT amps have a valve pre amp.... All the warmth and tone of a valve pre amp and a reliable tube power amp. Do some research first!

  • @kw1ksh0t *reliable olid state power amp

  • @kw1ksh0t *reliable solid state power amp

  • @kw1ksh0t Hate to break it to you, but a single 12ax7 tube in the "preamp" section won't add a lot to a solid state power amp. Especially when it isn't running at full voltage.

  • @wilrecar77 That being said, I'm not someone who thinks that solid state is bad, and considering that almost ALL of everyone's favorite and "boutique" pedals are solid state there is no reason a solid state amp can't sound good. It's just that the tube in the VT series amps doesn't really do much.

  • @wilrecar77 - There's a big difference between a solid state pedal and a solid state amp. Everyone's favorite solid state pedals often sound good because they are being run in front of a tube power amp, in which case the tube power amp is providing most of the tone. Run the same pedal into a solid state amp and it's a whole different ball game...a much, much, shittier ball game.

  • @ninjascience LMAO

  • @kw1ksh0t you sound like you know what youre talking about...NAHHTTT.

  • @viomartyr Yeah I got a vox "valvetronix" 50 watter...is got okay tones but SOOO lacks that warmth and tone that only tubes can provide

  • @viomartyr FAIL for the VT series... they emulate on a TUBE AMP, because there's a tube in it.... I think you should do some researches to find that there's a tube called 12AX7 in it...

I know it's not about presets, noob.

But it's good to have some presets when you want to play some songs. There's like over 50 Song Presets. 50+ presets of real songs, and they are really meant to be. I tried Enter Sandman and Raining Blood and it does kick ass. You can have every Vox Amps into one amp.

  • @xboxnissan trust me man theres only so much you can do with presets eventually you have to experiment with different sounds its cool to play songs with certain set ups? but its best to set a basic type of effect sound and let your playing accent the rest just look at hendrix he just turned on the fuzz and let his hands do the rest nothing else

  • @xboxnissan ..........This amp has tubes.

  • What's the first song? Sounded great.

  • @MetalzShredah550 gunman by them crooked vultures

  • @MiniMightyMan96 Thanks.

  • Wow, I didn't think fenders had this kind of drive in em! Though I doubt we'll be seeing Meshuggah touring with a Hot Rod Deville.

  • Ammaring <3

    Sounds great.

  • now the only thing to improve is the tubes... i wanna se some TAD's in there

  • First.. sorry but i always wanted to say that, great demo

  • Sounds great even with un-processed Youtube quality
