Show No Mercy was probably their best album, Reign in Blood, Seasons in the Abyss and South of Heaven were ok, and everything after that has been rubbish. If you want a good thrash band, try Exodus or Kreator.

No, I have great taste. The first three Metallica albums were good, mainly due to Cliff Burton since he was probably the only real musician in the group (Kirk was ok too but was just playing what Dave Mustaine wrote). After AJFA though it all went downhill. Just because millions of clueless mainstream fans love Metallica, doesn't mean they're any good. There are many more bands out there with more talent. There are also lots of metalheads who don't like Metallica.

Ever heard of a thing called a demo? Most of the album was already recorded while Mustaine was in the band, before they signed with Megaforce. Half the songs on the album give credit to Mustaine as well. He also has writing credits on Ride the Lightning, which was already written/recorded before it was produced. Demo, look it up.
