You're the best bassoonist i've seen on youtube...i just started about 2 months ago and it's really super duper hard compared to my clarinet (3 1/2 years)
Don't worry, if you work hard and keep at it, you will be able to play like this. I started about 8 months ago, and I'm okay, but not great. I'm watching this to get a better idea of the sound I want to produce. :)
I can tell you right now this guy has worked all of his Bassoon life in order to get his tone. So dont think you are going to produce his sound in like a week. Its called practice. I was able to make it into Juilliard this year and I am soooo excited!! I didnt make it last year and so I practiced my BUTT off. And It Worked,
What I meant was that I didn't really know what the bassoon sounded like, and listening to really great players who have been playing for a while helps me because then I have a resource to fall back on for getting the sound I want to produce.
I practice everyday for an hour and a half. And I'm not pursuing playing music as a career, its a hobby. So, excuse me, I didn't mean to offend you.
Listening to other people play is a very important part of any musician's development. For someone who is just starting out on bassoon (or any instrument), listening to stuff like this is a big help because it gives them an idea of what they like not only in the sound of the instrument, but also with other things like phrasing, technique, rhythm, etc.

Music is From Herausgegeben von Oskar Peter the title is Capricen. You should try to get that from a german editor.

I found it impossible to find this music, although it also goes under the title of Solos by Braun. Seems to be an alright edition.
AmateurBassoonist 2 years ago
Oh its possible. I recently purchased it fromMidwest Musical Imports. Just came in the mail today =D
WhiteCholo504 2 years ago
Oh, I couldn't find it at TrevCo Music, but my teacher told me to order the Braun Solos, which is all of these Caprices.

how do you like the shoulder strap in comparison to a harness or a seat strap?
SaxophoneProductions 2 years ago
I'm using an alto one, which isn't really great. But I like it better than the seat strap.
darksun95 2 years ago
do you have a recommended strap? (as in, have you tried a few?) regardless you sound fantastic!
