  • so the touch screen remains lit whilst you are reading?

  • I'll be glad when my book "Lines of dark and light" is available on this

  • I thought he was gonna show us a card trick.

  • is he wearing a clock on his wrist

  • Thanks for showing us this review.

  • can anyone tell me which ebook i should buy? its either the nook or kindle... someone any suggestions?

  • your way to robotic and boring. There was no emotion at all.

  • I have had my nook for the better half of 3 weeks. I have read 3 books since and it is pleasurable and very comfortable to read with.

  • Does wifi cost money when you're not at Barnes and Noble? and does it cost money to look for books to buy (just look) using the nook??Thanks

  • no its cost nothing for the 3g which runs on att network

  • the flicker between pages is god awful and irritating. Who designed these things? Some 2 bit drop out from industrial design and programing school. Both are a mess.

I'm not an applefan boy but man give me the max-ipad to read over these two any day.

On second thought, I'd just rather buy a real paper book.

  • agreed, however you might wana look into the HP Slate, windows seven enabled and it could be cheaper than its $500 apple counterpart. (supposed to be the price of a mobile phone) the ipad isnt multi tasking has no new apps

  • @mnguyea , ever heard of e-ink?

  • Woah, was he wearing a clock on his wrist?

  • @RadamentsLair more like a fucking old school compass

  • @numbah1pinoy

It could be a new enigma device or something for a double naught spy.

  • @RadamentsLair

My grand parents had a clock similar to that. Their's had a pedulum and some weights to adjust for accuracy or something. It used to wake me up every hour when I spent the night with them.

  • Can Anyone answer me please....

I would like to know if nook allows read any pdf files that come from my computer or would it only allow read pdf files strictly downloaded from the estores?

  • @munsayac13

Pretty sure it allows any pdf though I STILL haven't gotten mine yet so I will let you know when I have

  • Thanks!!! Just hit reply...

  • also does the touchscreen light up every time you simply change the page? That wastes way too much power if so..

  • can the nook allow you type information in a certain page just like if you were adding information in the margin of books? I know the kindle will allow you to do that but I don't know if the nook will.

  • I really really want one of these now. Thanks for posting this. :]

  • did this guy pop a couple ludes before the broadcast?

Dude, i gotta sit back and relax while this thing blinks and bloops to a reformat? Too clunky me things. I aint got time to relax when Im reading.

GO BACK TO SOUND LAB FOR THE VOLUME? im waiting for the next generation of nook. Thanks!

  • One of the few hands on videos of the nook. That's great but could be more helpful if you did a couple if things different. Like being a lot closer to the nook. Can't see a thing on the LCD color when your sooo far away. There is a point about not having a button for audio but it's not really to be mp3 player. I just think it's a plus. Would really like to see what a PDF file looks on it. And if the front cover and be exchanged to or just the back.

  • ....I hate when ppl ask a question they can just google.

    ....that being said...

    it's 2.59 plus tax...

  • Understand its not limited to color ink issues, its a matter of the file it reads. the pdf file needs to be in the color... :D there are ways around ur issues just be smart about it.

  • how much is this thing?

  • @bruceskater93

    259 I think

  • Color e-ink won't be on the market for a few years.

From what i've read low resolution color screen may be out as early as 1 year, but quality resolutions won't be seen until 2011-2012 maybe even later.

Expect to see another generation or 2 of B/W e-readers before color is even an option.

Personally I'm waiting for magazine subscriptions, newspapers and book club prices to come down. $10 for a digital only copy is too much in my opinion.

  • ill get one when it has full color e-ink for comics and stuff

  • that technology is REALLY advanced and expensive but should be released in the very near future, expect to see it around 2012-2014

  • when is the nook coming out

  • "Cover Show"

    haha, that bugs me

    It's "Cover Flow"

  • i want one of those! the one i have is 2 small i can't really read :(

& i like ur vid i think u did great!

  • this dude makes me fall asleep

  • Not bad but you're too far away from the device and it's almost impossible to see what's going on with the touch screen.

Otherwise the best home demo I've seen thus far. :)

  • i think i fell asleep

  • SlashGear needs some serious video help. The speaker sounds too robotic and we can barely see the device. Zoom in and get some enthusiasm.

I'm not trying to bash anyone, but we all can improve, right?

  • O Lay!

  • Next time hold the camera further away from the device please.

  • Thanks for the overview. I've been waiting for a hands on. Appreciate it.

  • it seems dust can get inside easily

  • @guicapone2 watch a video

  • i wanna a book that reads to me

  • yay im first. great video btw
