Multiplayer would ruin Mass Effect completely.

The whole point in Mass Effect and this video itself is for you to individually experience the characters, story and world. Multiplayer gameplay is the exact opposite of that; instead everybody experiences the exact same thing.

the general story is good, but the choice system is broken in the minor quests, like choosing the option on the citadel, not to correct your MIA status, then have the possibility to give an interview, or advertise at shops......

the conversations are fixed. I want to be able to do what I would want to say, but if I do that I end up getting to half and half and I can't get dialog options further on.

Took me a few seconds to get what you mean, but u are right.. dunno why you got a thumb down but the system is build to be 1 of the 3 possibilties. while you dont get much out of beeing "neutral" I tended to choose Paragon answers cuz i it suited me more then the ren. answer, BUT my free will would have choosed the neutral "middle" answer. but if i take it, ill get no points. So best would have been, gain 1+Para&1+Rene when you choose neutral instad of nothing.

I had the same problem, I couldn't decide which to have the romantic subplot with. I ended up just going with Tali because I think she's a more interesting character but I was actually amazed and impressed that a video game could put me into a situation of moral dilemma....about a short sex scene.
